Tess didn't get to spend ten minutes at her third spot. Her super sense pulled her from what she was doing to scan her surroundings. Again, she found Lanse nearby with a summoning glove watching her above the tab he was not reading. 

Why would he be leaning on a tree near the windy field while she was alone out there? The beach was further ahead yet he decided to stop and lean on a crusty tree bark. There was no reasonable explanation other than he was stalking her. 

Her body also proved it had another mind in control. Her hands kept pulling her turtleneck higher up her neck and she kept watching her back. She dreaded passing the mirror in the hallway near the stairs and glimpsing him behind her. She remembered the dark blur that zipped past her the night of the pool which made her concerned. Was she overreacting?
