Tess uncrossed her legs so both high-heels touched the ground. She lowered both hands from her mouth but kept her elbows on the desk as she spoke.
"I don't know why it happened. I got snatched by the red vortex and spun around a few times before ending back in the void." She smacked the desk and looked up at Lanse. "Take it or leave it," she glared.
Lanse folded his arms and blinked lifelessly. He was above everything in the room from sitting on a desk while everyone else sat on chairs around him. His full black attire made his red eyes pop out like daggers as he stared down at her.
"Is that what you expect me to tell Sensei during my mission brief–that you got spat out of a vortex for no reason?" He looked away from her and chuckled, thinking not even the Elites wanted anything to do with a scum.
