Chap 202: Play hard
The incoming object Tess sensed snapped her out of her trance. She pulled her eyes away from her claws and her black sclera turned white. Her racing heart echoed in her head before her eyes locked on the red and black blur zipping on top of the waters.
"Zino." She gasped and tucked the hand with her claws under the water.
Zino stopped above the waterlogged land in the distance and yelled out to her. "Tee, you're alive!" She took several steps into the morass at the water's edge but stopped. She moved her head down to see the chunk of monster flesh floating nearby.
Tess didn't need her foreseeing vision to imagine the wide smile on Zino's face. Her strong voice was bubbling with joy. But what did she mean by alive? Why would she think she was dead?
