25 Tokyo War Arc Episode 1: The Inciting Incident

In the extensive Tokyo Expressway was a large convoy of five jet-black BMWs and a single black armored limousine. And inside of the limousine was the Lady of the Tengen Conglomerate.

One of its founders, Lady Makima.

Her crimson hair glimmered from the sunlight piercing through the tinted windows of the limousine. Her golden and hypnotic eyes wandered with boredom while gazing outside the car.

It's been quite a short while since she returned to the metropolitan city of Tokyo. The last time was when Makima caused some problems by eliminating the growing numbers of villains and their gatherings.

Such actions were all throughout the news, but it was something the Devil didn't regret to do. Otherwise, unwanted chaos would have sprung up in the capital city.

Those gathering of villains didn't serve her purpose, and she understood they were only used as meat shields or baits by the Symbol of Evil.

A way to attract attention from the heroes and the commission while preparing a large force below.

Makima struck a blow against these plans by eliminating every villain in the city who dared to answer the call of the Symbol of Evil.

Perhaps it might have been one of the reasons why the Symbol of Evil became impatient.

However, she didn't care about what the Symbol of Evil felt. Her plans were already establishing themselves, and the HPSC was doomed.

Anyhow... Makima was escorted back to the Tower since the recent occurrence brought by the Symbol of Evil had affected the Conglomerate's interest.

She understood there was no way anyone would be out of the predicament unscathed. Especially when the war was about to start.

But she could lessen the damage and influence of the war of the parties under her.

Makima could also have teleported to the Tower instantly to meet the executives and discuss a plan for the Conglomerate's interest.

Though she didn't find herself hurried enough to do so. Especially when it was merely for the interest of her dogs that she was returning to the Tower.

Besides, she wanted to enjoy the view of the metropolitan city.

"Tokyo adapts fast from tragedies."

Makima muttered under her soft breath while gazing upon the endless cityscape of the capital city.

The scene of ordinary citizens living their lives without care intrigued the Devil. Despite the city meeting various unnatural and horrifying events, it continued forward.

The lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals moved onward despite the impending war.

But this beautiful scene was the result of ignorance. And the Devil of Conquest took a liking to it. She wondered if she could make them perpetually ignorant of the horrors of the world.

'That will be difficult. After all, humans are naturally curious about the unknown. I could control everyone with my Conquest, but that would be too boring.'

Makima gave a gloomy smile since she had complicated feelings about her abilities as the Devil.

She wanted everyone to be in her control but did not immediately dominate them with Conquest. It was a way of saying that she desired people to be under her control with their own free will.

And what was the best way to achieve that?

A Utopia.

"I'm beginning to mistake who's the real me or not. Well... It's not like I care."

Makima closed her eyelids, covering her golden irises. Since the beginning, she had already resolved to become Makima, the Conquest Devil.

She didn't lament her choice, and the hunk of memories from various cultured shows didn't amount to a solid personality. So, her personality could only be derived from the memories of Makima.

She was already considered fortunate to have not gained the intricate parts of the former Makima, such as fangirling over pinnacle heroes.

If she had gained such a part of Makima, she might be fangirling over All Might for no reason. Just the thought of it was enough to disgust Makima.

Nonetheless, the massive and attractive convoy drove through the expressway while Makima watched the concrete jungle with boredom and interest.

It was a weird feeling synonymous with getting bored and watching the outside for any intriguing scenes.

The driver of the black limousine took notice of the Conglomerate Lady's aloofness. He wanted to speak to her but stopped himself.

He didn't know the consequence of doing so, especially with the identity of the one behind him.

Before the driver could continue thinking of the consequences of what he could have done, a brilliant light pierced through the windows.

*BOOM!!!*

The shockwave followed, and a loud explosion resounded in the expressway. The black limousine trembled, and the driver saw the leading jet-black BMW blazing in inferno.

It was a terrifying sight to behold.

"Sh*t!"

In response, the driver quietly cursed and immediately drove the black limousine backward. The guarding jet-black BMWs followed, but unfortunately, the convoy couldn't stage their escape.

The rear-end BMW gleamed in radiant light, and another loud echo of an explosion followed it.

*BOOM!!!*

It was a textbook ambush, and sadly, the convoy was cornered. If the convoy wanted to escape from this situation, the convoy had to plow through civilian vehicles.

Speaking of civilians, the circumstances of the Tokyo Expressway was in chaos. Hundreds of civilians got out of their vehicles and escaped from the immediate vicinities of the explosions.

The driver of the black limousine felt nervous since he didn't think his job would turn out like this. Wasn't Tokyo supposed to be one of the safest cities in the world?

Why were their terrorists handing out terror attacks like free cupcakes?

*BOOM!!!*

Another explosion rang out, and luckily, it wasn't within the expressway. Instead, it was in the downtown area of the metropolitan Tokyo.

Makima observed the entirety of the situation calmly and acted as though she wasn't bothered by it. In actuality, she really wasn't.

The Devil didn't fear the Symbol of Evil and his minions. However, she will be bothered by the amount of collateral damage this would bring to her peace.

"It looks like the Symbol of Evil is out for blood, huh?"

"Even organizations connected to the Commission are getting targeted and bombed."

Makima smirked and opened the door of the black limousine. The driver wanted to stop her, but upon seeing the expression on her face, his body shook in despair.

He couldn't utter a word and could only watch Makima stand outside the black limousine.

On the other hand, the Devil could smell the crisp aroma of meat and plastic. It wasn't pleasant for the nose.

"It's a good thing I warn them in Musutafu."

Makima mumbled and stretched her limbs as though she was about to do the heavy lifting. This comparison wasn't wrong since the ones before her were the personal war machines of the Symbol of Evil.

They were a group of powerful villains and two Nomus. The Symbol of Evil must have thought highly of her to send such a force.

But she looked at them coldly and condescendingly as if they were insects that dared to block her path.

Her golden and hypnotic eyes glowed while she pointed her fingers at them as though she were using a gun.

She gave her opponents a mesmerizing smile and muttered one word.

"Bang!"
