50 A situation in Essos

Thornir, while sitting in his office within Hardhome Castle, planned to take his four-year-old son Ragvir on a journey to Braavos. As King of the Free Folk Kingdom, he was cautious and prepared for danger. For their protection, he arranged for four vessels with twenty warriors aboard each one, ready to defend them should anything arise.

Thornir's heart raced with excitement as he thought about his upcoming journey with his young son. He had been longing to take Ragvir to the beautiful city of Braavos, where they could experience the culture of the Free Cities and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bustling marketplace.

As Thornir made his way through the castle, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in all that he had accomplished as King. He had brought his people together and united them under one banner, creating a strong and prosperous kingdom.

But as he stepped outside and onto the docks, Thornir's excitement turned to apprehension. The winds were howling and the sea was choppy, making it clear that their journey would not be an easy one.

The ships were ready to set sail, but the sea had become treacherous. Thornir felt the weight of responsibility as he thought of his young son. He knew that the journey would be perilous, and he did not want Ragvir to face any danger. He looked at his son, who was holding his hand with a look of trust in his eyes.

Thornir took a deep breath and tried to calm his nerves. He knew that he had to be strong for his son. He turned to the sailors and shouted, "Hoist the sails"

The sailors quickly went about their tasks, and soon the ships were moving through the rough waves. The wind howled, and the rain lashed against their faces as they journeyed on. Thornir held onto Ragvir tightly,as he used his magic powers to calm the waves.

The sea grew calmer, and the storm subsided. Ragvir looked up at his father with a smile, and Thornir knew then that he had made the right decision to take his son on this journey. They arrived in Braavos a few days later, and Thornir was awed by the beauty of the city even though he had seen it before. The waterways were lined with colorful buildings, and the smells of exotic foods filled the air.

Thornir and Ragvir explored the city, taking in the sights and sounds of Braavos. They visited the famous Braavosian fighting pits, where Thornir watched in awe as the fighters battled it out. Ragvir clung to his father's leg, hiding his face from the bloody spectacle.

They also visited the magnificent Titan of Braavos, a towering statue that guarded the entrance to the harbor.

Over the next few days they had explored the city Braavos as Ragvir was enjoying all of the different things that he was seeing.

It wasn't until they had run out of thing's that Thornir decided to visit Pentos next.

Thornir knew that Pentos was another Free City that would be worth a visit. He had heard about the legendary feasts and parties that were held there and he was eager to experience them for himself. So, he arranged for his ships to take them to Pentos next.

Once they arrived, Thornir was amazed by the grandeur of the city. The streets were lined with ornate buildings, and the people were dressed in the most luxurious of clothing. Thornir felt like he was in a dream.

They were soon invited to a party hosted by one of the richest aristocrats in Pentos. Thornir was hesitant at first, but he knew that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. He dressed in his finest attire, and Ragvir wore a miniature version of his father's outfit.

As they stepped into the grand hall, Thornir was struck by the sight before him. The room was filled with the most beautiful people he had ever seen, and the tables were laden

with the most exquisite food and drink. Thornir and Ragvir were greeted with warmth and hospitality, and Thornir felt a sense of camaraderie with the nobles of Pentos.

As the night went on, Thornir indulged in the food and drink, enjoying the lavish feast. Ragvir, however, grew tired and restless. Thornir tried to keep him entertained, but the young boy was too young to appreciate the grandeur of the party.

As the night drew on, Thornir began to feel a sense of unease. He noticed that some of the nobles were giving him strange looks, and he could hear whispers about his Free Folk heritage. Thornir tried to ignore it, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

Suddenly, there was a commotion at the other end of the hall. Thornir saw a group of armed men enter the room, shouting in a language he didn't understand. Chaos erupted as the nobles tried to flee, but Thornir knew that he had to protect his son. He quickly grabbed Ragvir in his arms and made his way towards the exit. As he ran, he could hear the sounds of swords clashing and people screaming.

They made it to the streets outside, but the danger was far from over. Thornir could see that the city was under attack, with fires burning in the distance and armed men roaming the streets. It wasn't long until his men found them and escorted them through the street's of the city.

Thornir was grateful for the protection of his warriors, but he knew that they needed to get out of Pentos as soon as possible. They made their way to the docks, where their ships were waiting. Thornir ordered his men to prepare the ships for immediate departure, while he held onto Ragvir tightly.

As they set sail, Thornir couldn't help but think about what had just happened. He had been so focused on enjoying the lavish party that he had let his guard down. He couldn't believe that he had put his son in danger like that.

Thornir also couldn't shake off the feeling that the attack on Pentos was related to his Free Folk heritage. He knew that there was still prejudice against his people, even in the Free Cities. He made a mental note to be more cautious in the future.

The journey back to Hardhome Castle was a somber one. Ragvir was too young to understand what had happened, but Thornir knew that he would never forget the danger they had faced in Pentos. Thornir spent the journey deep in thought, contemplating the events that had transpired.

Upon their arrival at Hardhome Castle, Thornir immediately called a meeting with his advisors and generals. They discussed the attack on Pentos and what it could mean for their kingdom. It was clear that the other Free Cities were not as accepting of the Free Folk as Thornir had hoped.

-----

Just a few hours prior to the attack on Pentos, the Iron Bank had hired a mercenary group known as the Golden Company to attack The party that Thornir was. From the beginning the Party was a trap.

But it was also a chance to get rid of some people that the Iron bank didn't like.

The Golden Company had been promised a large sum of money for their services, and they were eager to carry out their mission. They were a group of ruthless and skilled fighters, feared throughout the Free Cities.

As the night of the party approached, the members of the Golden Company made their way into Pentos disguised as merchants and tradesmen. They blended in seamlessly with the crowd, waiting for the right moment to strike.

When the time came, the Golden Company attacked the party with all their might. But Thornir had managed to escape and flee the city using the disguise of the night.

Still the Golden Company was paid since their original objective was not to kill Thornir but to show what happens to those who associate with him in the free cities.

-----

Thornir had already had people look into the matter by going to the Free cities disguised to get some information.

After a while when he finds out who did this he will exact his revenge and the attack on the Iron Bank that he has been holding off will soon happen.
