"Sixteen!" … "WTF!" … said Jax angrily.

He didn't want to believe Thorn's words, because that would mean a couple of very boring years of growing up again. It must be noted that before he died and was transmigrated he was already at the young age of 26 years old.

"I told you that you wouldn't like it. There is a bit of good news though. Based on the knowledge I've gained from the system, you should be able to access its functions, once your body is strong enough to not explode from the vast amounts of energy you possess." Replies Thorn

"I already guessed as much, so all I need to do is gain combat experience and temper by mind and body with life and death situations, correct?" Asked Jax

"That's correct, your base power is already extremely high, until you train and are able to control it, the system has temporarily sealed around 99% of your powers! The only way to gain access is to train." Answered Thorn

"Ok, well know that that's sorted, it's about time I spoke to my new parents. It's a little weird, since I still have my past memories, but I think I can make it work." Said Jax thoughtfully.

"This is one situation I won't be able to assist with. Since merging with the system, I've been unable to speak to anyone but you." Says Thorn sadly.

"I'm sorry you got absorbed by the system, I had no idea something like that could happen. We might be able to find a way to separate you from it in the future." Replies Jax, he felt bad for Thorn's situation. It's not every day you go from being a soul sword to being absorbed by a mysterious system.

"It's alright Jax, the merger actually helped me. I was close to disappearing from soul energy depletion. It's been many centuries since I was created, and the soul energy I was given wasn't meant to last forever. That's why I needed to bond with someone, to restore my souls energies." Said Thorn

"Ok, you get some rest and try to gain access to more information from the system. In the meantime, I will converse with my parents and make plans for the future. Hopefully they agree with the plan I have in mind, but I will also listen to their suggestions." Jax said after some thought.

"Ok, good luck!" Replied Thorn

After discussing their plans and waiting for Jax to wake. Jacob and Sarah decided to make an inventory of everything they have and the things they need for their plans.

Sarah was busy going thru the house, sorting food stuffs, extra clothing and bedding materials. Jacob went to the market to price a wagon and horses. They didn't make a lot of money, but they'd been saving for a few years now.

After arriving at the stable house, he looked around for an animal handler. Finding no one out front, Jacob walks around back to the barn area. There he finds an old man brushing a pair of beautiful black horses.

"Good afternoon sir, how are you today?" Asks Jacob

"I'm well, thanks for asking. The names Damian. What can I do for you?" Replies Damian.

"I was looking to price a set of horses and a wagon. The wagon should be sturdy and able to handle lots of travel. I would like a pair of strong, young horses for the same reasons! How much would such cost me?" Asks Jacob

"A pair of horses and my best wagon, huh? Well, my best horses are the ones you see here. They are a pair of Black Stallion siblings, both male, who were rescued from a forest fire. It's taken me quite awhile to gain their trust and make them feel comfortable around humans. I hate to say, but I have a deep attachment to these horses!" Explained Damian.

"They are very beautiful horses and they look like they've been well taken care of. Name your price, good sir and I swear on my life to take extremely good care of them." Replies Jacob

"I can't take less than 1500 gold a piece. I had planned to sire a strong lineage from these stallions. If you buy both at that price I will give you one of my finer wagons. These horses in particular, are well versed in pulling wagons and put in a great deal of effort to protect their owners." Said Damian, he felt excited and also a little regretful about selling his horses.

"That is a steep price, but I agree your steeds are worth it so I will purchase them. I have half the funds now, if you will take that as a deposit and hold the horses, I will pay an extra 500 gold! What do you say?"

"It wouldn't be a problem to hold them for you, even without a deposit. It's more than enough to prove your interest. However, I will only be able to hold them for a few months. A general in the kings army has sent word, he wants to visit and see my horses for himself." Answers Damian.

"I need 2 months at most to return with the remaining funds. I have no qualms with the kingdom, but I'm in a greater need of theses horses and wagon. I will return in 2 months Sir Damian, and thank you for your assistance." Said Jacob

"Your quite welcome good sir! I look forward to your return." Replies Damian

Jacob leaves after leaving the deposit and heads back home to inform Sarah of the information he learned about the general soon to be visit. He had a strange feeling when the shopkeeper mentioned this supposed visit by the kings general.

On his way home, Jacob bought some bread, dried meats and water and places it all inside his storage ring. He had decided he would buy such things and store them for later. He had found several storage rings during his adventures. Only they didn't contain a lot of space. He only managed to find two rings with almost limitless space.

Sarah and Jacob, used these for their own personal storage and they also represented their marriage rings. They were a matching set for a man and woman, so it only felt natural to them to use it for that purpose.

The set of rings also had a hidden feature that lets it wearer know when it's companion was in mortal danger, and when they were in close proximity of each other! This function, unbeknownst to Sarah and Jacob, had lead them to save each other's lives several times.

Sarah, who was busy tidying up their house, felt a familiar comfortable feeling pass over her. She smiled warmly and headed towards the door. Just as Jacob was about to open the door, Sarah opens it from inside and says "Welcome home my love, how was your errands? Did you find horses and a wagon?"

"I'm always surprised when you do that! How's you know I was here?" Asks Jacob as he walks into the house.

"I'm not really sure, I got a warm feeling and followed it, it led me to the door which I opened, and you were there." Answered Sarah with a happy smile.

"No matter, it's good to be home and I always love to see you smile. I did find a great pair of horses, but they will cost 3000 gold and the wagon will be included." Said Jacob once he was inside and settled.

"3000 gold!! That's nearly double what we have been able to save so far! How will we afford it?" Says Sarah shocked by the price.

"Don't worry, I placed a deposit, so the horse handler promised to hold them for a couple months, I plan to seek out quests and and jobs around town to make up the remaining funds. If my plan goes well, I will earn enough to pay the rest within two months." Replies Jacob

"Ok love, I trust your judgment. If you believe this is best, I will support you decision." Says Sarah

As Jacob and Sarah are talking they both suddenly here a voice they've been waiting for.

"Hello? Mother, Father are you there? Can you hear me? Don't be frightened, it's me Jax. My energy has returned and I'm awake now." Asks Jax with his telepathy ability.

"Yes, I can hear you, my son!! It's good and slightly weird to be speaking to you, seeing as you were born a few weeks ago." Replies Jacob and Sarah almost at the same time.

"Sorry for the weirdness of the situation, but I'm glad I have the ability to communicate with you. I also wanted to tell you I apologize for the death of the original soul of this body. From what Magnus told me, your sons soul was injured and the only way to repair it was to merge it with mine." Says Jax seriously.

Ever since Magnus told him about his body and how he came to be here, Jax had a nagging feeling the original souls parents would resent him.

Jacob and Sarah exchange a sad look and Sarah says "Magnus also explained what happened to us, we are supremely thankful for him to save your life by merging your souls. From what we understand, you are still our son, only your soul came from an alternate timeline or dimension."

"Yes, no matter how it happened, you are still are son, so don't ever think that we'd see you any other way!" Finished Jacob.

"We also know that you still have your past life's memories and experiences. If you ever want to tell us about it, we'll be here for you!" Says Sarah.

At this time Sarah and Jacob had came to Jax's room. When they entered, they were surprised to find Jax sitting up by his own power. When they entered, Jax glances over and looks his new parents in the eyes.

"Thank you both, maybe at some point, I might be willing to tell you of my past life. For now however, I'd like to learn things about you both and this world. Plus, I'd like to know your plans for the future. Magnus told me of my fate and what lies ahead. I would like to be well prepared for what's to come." Says Jax seriously.
