20 Chapter 20 - Walking Here and There!

Crunch! Crunch!

"So good! So good!" said one of the villagers while eating the roasted rabbit meat with his bare hands. Tears are welling up in his eyes, threatening to fall down at any moment now.

Its the same scenery as almost everyone else while enjoying their fill of rabbit meat. To them, the common villagers, such meat would be considered an extravagant meals that they would only be able to purchase after saving up for a few months. And even then wouldn't guarentee that they would get a whole rabbit meat. Even if they did, the quality would be sub-par at best.

"Here you go eldest brother Jerald! This rabbit meat is cooked to perfection for you and the rest of the patrol!" said a young lady with a wide smile on her face who were tasked to cook the rabbit meat.

"This.. "

Holding the roasted rabbit meat, a complex expression could be seen on Jerald's face. It seems as if he was contemplating whether he should give the meat for others to enjoy. After all, with his strength, such rabbits could be hunted at anytime he wanted.

"Jerald, go and accept the meat that the young lady offered."

Theo could see Jerald's hesitation and he didn't want him to reject the goodwill of others. In his opinion, Jerald has rightfully earned it when he went on the hunt.

Perhaps Jerald might be an outspoken person when it came to deliver justice like he did in the main hall before, but Theo could somehow notice that Jerald doesn't seem to be that talkative and prefers to distance himself from others. In fact, this is what one would call him as being 'shy'.

"Thank you.." Jerald slowly muttered that sentence towards the young lady. Hearing this, she couldn't help but to giggle a bit as she found that despite the manliness outlook of Jerald, he is quite cute as well when he was like this.

This bubbling atmosphere between them was caught by Theo's gaze as he began to ponder with his fingers on his chin doing that 'L' pose. Slowly, his lips curled into a sinister smile as he noticed what's going on.

In his viewpoint looking at a third person perspectives from the sides, the young lady seems to be quite interested in Jerald. On the other hand, while Jerald seems to maintain his composure, there is a tingle of red flushing color on his cheeks if one were to observe carefully.

Obviously, the both of them have compatibility with each other. Thus, Theo cooked up a plan in his mind and decides to do it.

"Young Lady, what is your name?" asked Theo with his normal voice.

The young lady was quite surprised for Theo to call on her, but she immediately made a minimalist bow in respect before answering.

"Lord Theo, my name is called Ysolda. I'm the daughter of the Head Village" she replied.

Theo's right brow tinge upwards and his head tilted up a little bit when he heard her name, its a good name after all. He then began to scan her figure up and down. Violet pupils, deep brown hairs, beauty-face and lovely looking. She even has a nice curve on that waist with slender legs that acentuates her sexiness. To add to the bonus, her two peak mountains seems to be perfectly sculpted with her body frame as well, not too big and not too small.

Only a blind man would waste such an opportunity. And perhaps, Jerald might just be that blind man. Sighing helplessly and shaking his head, Theo decided to help him out. After all, regardless of how much water you give to a flower, they wouldn't bloom at all without the help of a sunlight.

Coughing dryly a bit, he began to speak with a voice that couldn't be resisted by mere villagers, thanks to his ability [Ruler's Influence] which is a type of passive ability.

"From now on, Ysolda, I tasked you to be Jerald's personal cook. You can ask him how he would like his dishes to be served."

This is the only help he could give without sounding too obvious. If Jerald couldn't even advance with this opportunity in the future, he decided to whoop Jerald's a*s and give him a good beating.

When Ysolda heard the order from Theo, at first she was a bit taken aback, but soon her expression turn to that of gratitude and understanding behind the meaning of the task. She smiled warmly in return and replied to Theo:

"Ysolda will do as Lord Theo's command and from now on will be Jerald's personal cook"

Jerald's mouth was agaped when he heard their conversation. Before he could even say anything however, Theo turned his back and quickly walked somewhere else. Leaving the both of them alone.

"Lord Theo, thank you for organizing this hunt! It has been quite a while since I last saw the whole village this happy! If there is anything you would require of us, we would be happy to help you." said the head village.

"Yes Lord Theo, just ask of us anything that we could do, and we will do it! No questions asked!" said Gosu.

Nodding his head gently with a warm smile to the both of them, Theo turned to look at the stoic man with the curly hair, Gosu.

"Gosu, I can see that you are talented and well-versed about this village, its surroundings and culture. From now on, you will work as my right hand man." said Theo.

He was long interested in this shameless fella before him that had the gall to even label himself as 'humble' while exagerating himself.

"Village head, as of now, my residence feels a little bit empty.. so if you could help me to assign some people in my stead to work at my place, I would be grateful"

"And of course, there are plenty of rooms available for them to live and make use of there, I don't really mind. I will also pay them their monthly wages, and their daily needs including food would be on me."

As the head village heard this, he couldn't help but to immediately be shocked with happiness. As of now, there are many people in the village who are doing almost nothing at all. By assigning these people to Theo's residence, not only would the burden of their daily needs be lifted off the shoulder of the other villagers who tried to support them, but they even get a place to stay and money to earn!

To the head village, this is definitely a good fortune for the village. Thus, he quickly expressed his gratitude to Theo with a bow, despite his old age and seniority compared to Theo.

"Thank you for this offer Lord Theo, you will find them to be stationed with their respective position by tomorrow morning. For those who are homeless, they will move in tonight. I will make the necessary arrangements myself." he said using a tone of deep respect in it.

"There is no need for such formality, after all, I have already swore an oath to help this village. Thus I shall." replied Theo non-chalantly.

"I'll leave you guys of your own accord now. Gosu, don't forget to move in tonight. As my right hand man, you must be close-by at all times."

"I hear and obey Lord Theo"

Gosu couldn't hide his excitement as his fists were clenched tight. He had the feeling that Theo would transform this village into something great. As for how far that change is, he only needed to follow Theo, and he is confident that change is but preordained.

Theo then walk towards the other villagers and made small talks with most of them before approaching the resting patrolmen whom are part of the hunt before. They seemed to be having the time of their life as they were being massaged by the women.

When they saw him approaching, they quickly gestured for the women to stop and they bend down their knees to the ground and bowed like titled knights towards Theo.

Theo stood infront of them with his hands clasped behind his back as always.

"From now on, every morning I want you all to run 10 laps around the village to build up your stamina. If there is anyone who were left behind, everyone would receive their punishment!" said Theo with a stern voice.

"Furthermore, after finishing the 10 laps, each of you must complete a set of 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups! I don't care how you people would achieve this, but for a month, the time limit for this training must be finished 2 hours before noon." he continued.

"And don't even think about skipping. With my powers, you would do well to imagine what would happen. You can say goodbye to your little donger down there! Hmph!"

Hearing this, the group of men suddenly shivered. However, as there were no other way, they couldn't do anything but to obey.

"We hear and obey!" the shouted with unison.

Theo nodded feeling satisfied with their respond. He then began to think of how he could develop this village as fast as possible. For him, time is of the essence as he didn't know exactly when would the demons invade this world.
