6 What took her so long to get ready?

'Ti Ti Ti TTitt....Thudd'. Turning off the alarm clock Mia opened her eyes slightly. She sat up and yawned.

"5 more minutes...." She talked to herself and then slept again, upside down, putting her feet on her pillow and burying her face inside her blanket.

Just in few minutes, Mia's Mother came to wake her up.

"Come on Mia, Wake up now...Wake up or you'll get late for school."

"Huh?...yeah....yeah.....late for school....hmm", Mia murmured in her sleep.

"Miaaa...Wake up...come on...", her mother tried to shake her off the bed.

"Waking you up is the most challenging thing for us. Come on now. I've to make breakfast also."

"Umm...."

"Before that, show me your face first. Let me see if the swelling on your forehead is reduced or not. Show me.....Mia!"

As soon as Mia heard it, she woke up immediately . And stood up in her bed, keeping both of her palms on her forehead.

"Huh?", startled by her reaction her mother said, "What? What happened?"

Without answering anything Mia ran towards the bathroom.

'What is wrong with this girl?...Anyways, at least she woke up early today.', her mother thought.

Hearing all this chaos, Mia's little sister Jina woke up from her sleep.

This was everyday's thing for her.

"You sleep honey, you don't have to wake up so early." said mother.

"I'm already up." said Jina getting off her bed.

After entering the bathroom, Mia stood up in front of the mirror and took her palms down.

Then she removed the bandage from her head. The swelling of the bump was pretty much reduced.

'Huhh....It looks okay now....there is no need for the bandage I guess...'

After freshening up, she started to get ready for the school. Putting on her clean and ironed uniform she looked in the mirror spinning right to left.

Her hair were short and was upto her neck. She used to use a hair belt, keeping her forehead bare.

Usually she didn't used to take much time to get ready.

But today, slowly combing her hair lost in her own thoughts, Mia couldn't keep the track of the time.

"Miaaa...", called her mother. "Come down quickly. What is taking you so long?"

Mia came back to her senses.

Quickly, she got ready. Then she went to her closet and opened one of the drawers. She took out a box and grabbed a bandage from it. The same white colored, circular shaped bandage!

She put it on while looking in the mirror.

"One- horned Baby Rhino....", she said to herself.

Hearing her own words, she smiled. And kept staring at her reflection in the mirror lost in her thoughts.

Again!

"Miaaa.....", her mother yelled. " Look at the time.....You are late... Come down fast...."

Again, her mother's voice took Mia back to reality. She looked at the clock.

"Aaaaa ..... I'm late !", she screamed and quickly ran downstairs.

"You woke up early today and still you are late! What were you doing up there?", her mother asked while pouring milk in a glass.

While Jina was sitting next to her, eating breakfast.

" Were you dozing off on the toilet seat?", Jina said teasingly.

Mia was so late that she didn't pay any attention to her.

She quickly grabbed a toast , " Sorry mom, I'll eat on the way. I'm really late now."

Putting the toast in her mouth she hurriedly wore her shoes.

"Wait.....at least drink some....."

"Sorry mom...Not today.....see you in the evening....bye bye....love you....."

'BAAM'

The door was closed and Mia was already on her bicycle with the half eaten toast still in her mouth.

She paddled towards the school as fast as she could.

This was the first time ever Mia was late for her school !!!
