62 The Football Trial...

"Hey, look over there…"

"The football trials have started!"

"Wow, all the cool boys of our school at the same place…."

"Right! It feels like I'm in the heaven right now! Hihihi…"

All the girls of the class were gathered at the window, looking down at the ground.

It was about 8: 10 in the morning and about 15-20 guys were gathered on the ground, standing in rows. The coach was standing in front of them and was giving them instructions. The existing football team was standing behind him.

All the girls were going crazy to see all those boys. It was the same every time, whenever the football team was on the ground or were playing.

Every player of the football team was famous in the school.

Girls were busy looking out from the window and commenting about their favorites.

While, Mia was just sitting on her seat, lost in her thoughts. She was quite upset from yesterday. After she had a fight with Jun, she hadn't talked with him. He had not tried to talk either.

Her face was sad; she put down her head on the table and closed her eyes.

'Ughhh…..What to do?.....I think, I got mad at him for nothing.

But he is also at fault. Why is he so stubborn? He always does what he wants to do….

But…We didn't talk at all from yesterday…He also came to school early, on his own, leaving me behind…He IS really mean!...'

"Hey look, the first thing is a running race!" Someone from the girls shouted.

On that, some of the guys also went towards the window to have a look.

"What do you think, who'll win?" A guy asked.

"I donno…Maybe that one…He's our senior, right?" Someone said.

"Yeah. He looks strong, isn't he?"

"Look at his muscles!" And the girls giggled.

"That one also looks nice!"

"Hey look, he is that one….the cold guy!"

Hearing Jun's name, Mia opened her eyes instantly. 'Jun?'

"I am really looking forward to Jun." Now Jun was the hot topic among the girls.

As Mia was really getting squeezed in the middle, someone suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her right in the front. Panting, Mia looked at the person, and as she saw Ye Rin smiling at her, Mia sighed relieved and looked down at the ground.

Her eyes were searching for the guy, Jun. Soon she found him sitting on his toes, at the very end.

'It's Jun….It really is Jun….' Her widened eyes, full of surprise, were looking at him.

'How did he…? Is he doing this because I …' As she was thinking this,

The coach blew the whistle.

On the next instant all the boys started running.

"Wooo…" The girls screamed.

"Shhhh. The teacher will come." Guys tried to quiet them down.

While all the boys on the ground, were running as fast as they could, trying to win it at all cost;

There was someone who was running so slowly that the distance between him and the others was getting longer at every second.

As everyone looked at him, they exchanged glances with each other, really confused.

Literally jogging on the track, Jun was looking really relaxed. All of the others were far further, but he was still running at his pace. Enjoying his run.

"Run Faster!!" Ray who was standing with his team, shouted.

The coach looked at Ray and asked him with his eyes only, "What's that guy doing?"

Ray looked at his coach, uncertain and then looked at Jun again. 'What's wrong with him?' He thought.

Mia, who was looking at him from the window, was also confused. 'What's….What's going on?'

Then suddenly, Jun looked at the window of Mia's class. And as soon as he saw Mia, he started waving at her, with a wide and cheerful smile on his face.

Everyone who was looking at him dropped their jaws. They couldn't believe what was happening before their eyes.

Looking at him waving at her like that, Mia lost her temper.

"RUN FASTER, YOU IDIOT!" She shouted, leaning out from the window.

Ye Rin pulled her back quickly, thinking that she'd jump out any second.

When Mia shouted like that, Jun shouted back, "Okay, okay!" And gave her thumps up with both of his hands.

Everyone in the classroom was now looking at Mia, confused.

And then soon, Jun increased his speed, running faster and faster.

"Wooo…" Not only girls but boys also shouted this time.

As Jun increased his speed, he got closer to others in the race. And soon started leaving them behind one by one.

Everyone was surprised to see his speed.

But, it was of no use….

When he surpassed the 6th runner and became 6th one himself, the other guy crossed the finishing line and won the race.

Everyone, including coach was surprised to see this kind of race, first time in their lives.

No one was talking nor cheering for the winner.

Though, Jun didn't win, everyone was just looking at him, than the winner of the race.

Putting her palm on her face, Mia tried to cover her anger. 'What was he doing just now? I can't believe this guy….If he had tried better from the beginning; he would have won the race….Idiot! A total idiot!'

"What's going on here?" Suddenly, the homeroom teacher entered the classroom.

Everyone looked back, as they heard the voice.

"Back to your seats! Right now!"

With heavy steps, all started walking towards their seats. No one wanted to do that, as everyone wanted to watch other physical tests also, and specifically Jun's performance.

"I am late for just one day and you guys have taken the whole school on your heads. Other teachers have complained to me…." The teacher started scolding them.

But no one was paying much attention to it, everyone's eyes were on the window.

Mia was sitting on her seat, holding her head with a hand. 'This guy…Ughhhh!!!'

Finishing the lunch as soon as possible, Mia ran towards the class 1-C. She peeked inside but there was no sign of Jun or Ray. So she started searching for them.

Soon, she saw Ray standing at the staircase. Mia quickly walked towards him.

"Hey, Mia!" Ray smiled as he saw her.

"Hey…Where is Jun?" she asked instantly.

"Jun? He went downstairs, in the canteen to get something. Why? What happened?" Ray asked as he noticed Mia's expressions.

"Just tell me, what did he do in the trials today? I mean, we were just able to watch the race. So what happened after that?"

"Oh yeah! We all heard you, shout, "Run Faster, idiot!" That was hilarious. Hahaha…" He laughed but when looked at Mia's serious face he stopped at instant.

"Ughm…" He cleared his throat. "Well, that guy is really something. I mean, I've never seen someone like him…"

"What do you mean?" Mia asked.

Ray started telling her everything which happened that morning.

"After the race, coach told them to show him their football skills. Running zigzag from one point to another, with the football was the first task. And unfortunately, Jun was the first one!"

"Huh?"

"Yeah, that's right! And you won't believe what Jun did! He…Haha…He held the football in his HANDS and started running!!! Haha…" Ray couldn't control the laugh.

"What?!"

"Haha…Yes! He did that! And when coach got angry at him, he answered that "You told us to run zigzag WITH THE BALL…You never said anything about using your legs to push it and reach the point!"….Are you getting what he meant? He literally did what coach told him to do! Which was right but still wrong at the same time!!!"

Mia just could not understand what to say.

"I mean, he is really awesome! We all were really surprised when he answered like that.

After that, when he started running with the football in his legs, he would either kick it so hard that it would go really far or he'd just not do anything at all and stumble his legs with the ball!"

Mia put her hand on her forehead. "This guy is unbelievable!"

"Yes, he is.

After that, coach told them to do the goal-keeping while one of us, the team members would kick the ball."

"So? What did he do at that time?"

"He did two extremities! I mean, he'd jump for the ball, before we even kicked it! Or —"

"—Or he'd jump after the ball has gone in the net already!" Mia completed the remaining sentence.

"That's right! Coach was really mad at him. I've never seen our coach that angry. He was quite expecting something from him, when he saw him run at the end of the race, but after that, he got more and more frustrated…."

Mia sighed loudly.

"…But I don't think that Jun was playing naturally. I mean, I felt like he was doing it intentionally!" Ray said.

"He was." Mia said. "He knows how to play football, but he was just….Ughh…."

"That's what I thought! But I wonder why?" Ray asked.

"Hey!" Suddenly Jun's cheerful voice came to them.

He was coming up the stairs, smiling at both of them.

"Hey, Mia! What's up?" Jun asked like nothing has happened.

"Hmph!" Mia looked to the other side and turned her back to him.

"Huh? What happened?" Jun asked as he looked at her and then at Ray. Ray didn't know what to say.

"Hey, April!" Mia saw April coming down the stairs and called for her.

"Hey! Mia. Hey Ra—" Before April could say anything, Mia grabbed her arm.

"Let's go in the class." She said hurriedly.

"Huh?" April got startled with Mia's sudden actions. "Um..Ok-ay…"

"Bye Ray. Talk to you later." Mia waved at him with a smile and then totally ignoring Jun, she dragged April with her.

Completely confused of what was going on, April went with her.

Ray and Jun looked at each other. Ray smiled weakly. "The girls…" He said. "Hehe.."

"Hey, did you see those girls?" One of the four guys, who were standing near the window were talking in between them.

"Yeah man!"

"Those are the ones from the training! I told you about…" The other said.

"Ohhh…I remember!"

Ray and Jun both went silent as these words came to them.

"Which one do you like?" A guy asked to his friends.

"The taller one!" One of them answered.

Ray and Jun widened their eyes. Ray looked at them, 'These are the same guys, who were trying to help April while climbing the mountain. I knew they were jerks!' He clenched his fists.

"The taller one?" the boys kept talking. "I like the shorter one! She is small and cute, just like my type!" Other guy said.

"Ha! She is small just like her b***s. Have you seen how flat she is?

So I'll also prefer the taller one, she seemed to have bigge—"

SMACKKK !!!

No one understood what happened for a second.

But the guy who was talking just now, was thrown to the ground.

And Ray was standing in front of him, with his strong, tight fist still in the air!
