68 His Contest and His Football Competition.

"And the winner of this contest is…the 'Rocky Mountains'!!!!"

With those words, everyone started clapping and cheering, while a group of boys, the band went on the stage to collect the prize.

Mia looked at Jun, who was standing beside her. Jun was also clapping for them without any hint of sadness on his face. He was looking pretty happy actually.

"You okay?" Mia asked.

Jun looked at her, "Absolutely!" He said with a smile.

"But…You…You didn't win….Aren't you upset or something?"

"Are you kidding me? Didn't you see those guys, play and sing?

They were awesome. When I saw them perform, it felt like they are totally gonna win it."

"But you were more awesome than that!" Mia folded her hands disagreeing to his statement.

Jun looked at her face and couldn't help but smile.

"It's okay Mia. I am totally fine with it. I am actually happy, cause this was my first ever performance and according to you and the audience's reaction, I did pretty fine. So I am not upset at all."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

Mia smiled at him. 'He is talking like a grown up now…'

"And besides, I am gonna get a lot of such chances now. And I'm not gonna lose at all."

Mia nodded and she suddenly remembered something, "THE MATCH!! What happened to the Football Match?"

Jun hurriedly looked at the time, "It's already over. Let's go and see what happened."

"Yeah. Hurry up."

~

Jun and Mia ran towards their friends when they saw them standing near the ground.

The match was over and the bleachers were empty. April, So Hee, Ye Rin, Hana and Ray all were standing and talking with each other.

"HEY GUYS!" Mia shouted from the distance, all of them looked at her.

When they reached to them, she looked at their faces. Something was off.

"Why the long faces?" Jun asked.

"Where were you Mia?"

"Jun? Where did you disappear to?"

"Why you guys weren't here for the match?"

One by one, everyone started asking question without giving any chance to Mia and Jun to talk.

While, Ray was just standing there with his head down.

Mia noticed it. "Ray?" She called his name.

He looked up at her with his saddened eyes.

"We lost the match…"

"What?" Mia and Jun asked at the same time.

"Yeah…" April said.

"And Ray is really sad about it." So Hee said going near to him. "Are you okay?" She asked to him worriedly.

Ray nodded slightly to her and again looked at Mia with a question in his eyes.

"I am sorry Ray." Mia said lowering her eyes.

Jun went next to him, "You okay bud?"

"Yeah, man. I am fine." Ray answered.

"Don't worry bud, you'll win next time. I am sure about that."

Ray smiled at him weakly. "But I really wanted to win this…."

"That's okay. Maybe today was not a good day for both of us."

"What do you mean?" Ray asked looking puzzled.

"You guys were asking where we went. Right?"

Everyone nodded.

"Well…" Jun looked at Mia before talking further. "….There was a singing contest."

"A singing contest?" April asked.

"Yeah. And so I had participated in it."

"Really?" Ray looked at his friend with a slight excitement in his eyes.

"Hm. And it was at 2:30. So I went for that. I am really sorry about that, Ray. It was really so sudden and I didn't get any time to tell you this."

"What? Don't be sorry. I am so happy for you."

"You are?"

"Why wouldn't I be? Both of us the best friends working for their dreams at the same time. Isn't that awesome?!" Ray was really hyped up now.

April and So Hee exchanged glances and smiled.

"So? What happened? You won?" Ray asked excitedly.

"Nope. That's what I'm saying. This wasn't our day I guess."

"What?....Really…..?"

"Hm"

"That's totally fine buddy." Ray wrapped his arm around Jun's neck. "Today may not be our day but tomorrow…Tomorrow we are totally going to win. I can feel this, Jun....I am 100% sure about this."

The guy who was feeling down just a minute ago was now encouraging his best friend.

Jun smiled on his words understandingly.

Looking at them like that, everyone felt relieved.

But Mia was still feeling guilty, "Ray?" She said.

Everyone looked at her.

"I am really really sorry about this. I was here for your match but then I went to Jun for –"

"Oh Mia!" Ray interrupted her. "That's totally fine. You don't have to apologize.

And besides, these all guys were here with me to cheer me up but Jun was alone.

It was actually great that you went to him."

"Really?" Mia asked surprisingly.

"Yes! And I should thank you for that…Thank you for taking care of my friend Mia."

Ray smiled cheerfully as his brown eyes sparkled in the long sunrays of the evening.

'That smile….I saw it after such a long time….' Mia thought. 'It's so nice of him….I am happy for Jun as he got a friend like him…'

"So…" Ye Rin said. "Should we go now? Because all this sweetness is rotting my teeth now."

Everyone looked at her. 'Classic Ye Rin!'

As the mood lightened up, they decided to go home.

Suddenly, "DO JUN??? DO JUN!!!"

They all heard a voice from a distance calling Jun's name.
