1 Prologue: Chapter 1 - My Quiet Daily Life Ends Today.

My name is Yami Ayama. A very boring high school student. My only hobby is reading, seeking knowledge that I don't know yet, and my goal is only one. Has all the knowledge in the world. My nature? You could say I'm greedy, apathetic, and weird. So better not to deal with me no matter what.

"Hey! Hey!! Yami!! That's not the greeting I taught you! It gives the impression that it's not like you want to be friends but it's giving him a warning not to approach you! Ah! You are! What should I do so you can live like a normal high school kid?!" shouted a man, who quickly hit a teacher's book.

"Shut up, Shino! This is a library, not a canteen! If you guys make noise again, just get out of there!"

"Ahh, Miss Kaila? Come on, ma'am, aren't you concerned about the fate of your protégé whose life is unjustifiable, like a bent iron? Don't you feel sorry for your mother? Look at the gleam in his eyes which is filled with sheer emptiness, and not being distracted from the book he shouldn't be reading?" Shino started to embrace me, showing his pitiful face to Mrs. Kaila, for some reason.

The atmosphere became silent for a moment. I glanced at Mrs. Kaila. Looks like she's starting to get affected.

Meanwhile, Shino, made his facial expression even more "cute", which actually made him disgusting.

Seeing the two of us, for some reason the teacher obeyed. Ah!

So I have to follow Shino's strange request.

Shino Kazegane, one of the people who seemed to care about me, I don't know what the reason behind his actions was, but I actually didn't really mind being alone all the time. As long as there's something I can learn, I'm fine.

However, the difficult thing is what I can learn from it. Bwah! I started imagining strange things. Please change the topic.

Shino himself was quite a famous person in our class. Well, with that kind of stature and demeanor, as well as his high level of self-confidence, he must have easily made friends.

And he -actually everyone- always calls me a solo player. What if it wasn't because I was a loner?

It's not that I don't have friends. I just do everything efficiently. Friend? What are the advantages?

As long as I can get new knowledge, it might be useful. But according to my observations, making friends is just a waste of time.

For example, when you are invited to go on a trip, for example to watch a movie at the cinema, what lessons do you learn? Maybe entertainment? Or maybe the value of life?

At least I don't really care about that. Because, I'm only interested in science, at least for now.

That's why I'm quite close to our science teacher, Mrs. Kaila Erliana.

Kaila Erliana, a homeroom teacher as well as a science teacher in my class. She's still young, maybe in her 20s, but his small and short body makes him look like we're still our classmate.

She is a kind person, understanding towards all his students, but a bit clumsy and sensitive when it comes to his age.

Well, when I say 20s, I means she's 26, and she thinks 26 is very close to 30, and I think I've heard that some women are afraid they can't get married because they're over 30. Maybe my teacher is one of them.

"Although stupid, this friend of yours this time is right. At the very least, you should clear your head of those books," Mrs. Kaila suddenly replied. There was a moment of silence.

"Erm, ehh, that, if you don't mind, I can accompany you later on Sunday, so you don't have any trouble. Even though I have a lot of work, but well, for Yami what's not. Kyaa!!!" he continued, waving his hands and glancing at me.

It felt strange, and a strange aura suddenly surrounded me.

"Oh! It's gone!" I immediately turned to Shino while trying to restrain Kaila's mother who already looked like a vampire about to suck my blood.

Shino just smiled softly and didn't do anything.

However, it seems that seeing what Mrs. Kaila is doing over time makes him a little surprised or afraid. I don't know what's on his face.

"No, no! I understand what you mean. I understand I understand! Because it bothers you, so you don't have to. I also don't want to keep bothering you." I said suddenly using a formal accent.

"Owh! Okay!" She said as he quickly walked away. Shino and I breathed a sigh of relief.

I turned back to Shino, and immediately smiled remembering what happened earlier.

Well, maybe there's a good thing he's always following me. I don't feel lonely.

Even if I'm feeling lonely, I can read some manga, science books or maybe science fiction novels to pass the time.

After all, this library is the best place ever. At least for me.

Sighing, I plopped down on the carpet. Cold air passed over me. The AC worked well enough to cool the entire room. I suddenly thought of something.

"Well Shino, is there something wrong with my life?" I asked suddenly.

"HAHAH! YOU JUST ASKING THAT NOW?" Shino suddenly stood up and clenched his fists forward while shouting very loudly. Surprised, I immediately turned to the teacher's bench. I saw that Mrs. Kaila was not there.

Hufft. Hah?! There is not any?! Don't make a joke with me!

And suddenly, a gust of cold wind gave me goosebumps. Slowly, I looked behind Shino.

"Ah! Looks like it's time for us to go out." I said as I quickly stood up.

"That's right you Yami, me too-"

"He he he, you don't have to bother walking out," Mrs. Kaila seems to be in attack mode.

"Ugh, it hurts."

"I told you not to be noisy!" Mrs. Kaila threw us both out, and BRAKK! The library door closed tightly, leaving us both outside.

That's Ms. Kaila. Fun but firm on her students. Unfortunately when she's angry, she's as terrible as a god of death you know?

"Ha ha!" Shino laughed. He looked away from me, like he was thinking about something.

"Hey, Yami. You think our friendship and other things are just life lessons right?"

"I understand if you are not "interested" in knowing it or maybe learning from it. It's just that in this world there are so many lessons that you really shouldn't miss," he patted me twice on the shoulder and immediately stood up and put his hands on his hips.

I looked up at the sky, with a sigh, didn't answer him.

"A life lesson, eh?" I asked quietly.

"Yes! You're so smart. I'll admit you are probably the smartest high school student I've ever met. However, in this world there is not only one kind of "intelligence".

"And you know? Intelligence is not only calculated from academic ability, but how he solves problems. Therefore there are many people who cheat and are deceived. And for sure, you are the one who was cheated, "he continued at length.

"Hmm!" I mumbled softly. Whatever it was, that was Shino's view. Although I hated to admit it, he was able to observe a person's condition with ease. Or often referred to as a psychologist.

I didn't really have that kind of experience, and everything he said was true.

But, with who I am now, do I still have the right to hope for it?

After I rejected them, after I turned away from them, do I still have the right to expect him back?

No.

Thats is nk way to back.

Even though I'm happy with my life, but still, this is also a punishment for me.

"You know what? Life is the hardest game ever. This isn't a manga, a movie, or a anime!" he took a breath.

"Life is hard, but you never know because you always refuse to know. Maybe you know some, but that's only a small part of the truth, you know?" now he emphasizes the language a little.

"So, when do you want to learn about the rigors of life?" Shino seemed to be repeating his question.

The wind was blowing quite strong, blowing my hair as if to urge me to immediately say the answer.

I stood up, looking back at the sky.

"Maybe, in the next life." I answered.

"Ha ha ha! As expected you would answer like that! Because you are a greedy, apathetic, and weird person right?!" Shino put his arm around my neck.

I smiled softly. Well, since I'm alive too, I'm sure I'll get it slowly.

The "science of life" huh! I definitely got it. Even if not now, I know if it's me, I definitely can. What's wrong with having high self-confidence, right?

The wind blows slowly again, blowing dry leaves. It seems like this wind is following me.

Whereas scientifically, wind is air that moves due to differences in air pressure.

But it feels like it always follows me and leads me to the red thread of destiny.

"What are you doing here?" someone asked. Girl, I know from her voice.

Well I can guess because there aren't many women, or in fact it's almost impossible for anyone to know me – I mean it's not that I don't know them but that one of them does.

"Hey! What are you guys doing huh?!" this time the tone rose. His footsteps could be heard walking, but he quickened his pace.

"Ahh, in another 2 seconds, she will be right in front of us." I thought.

Shina Kazegane, Shino's twin sister.

Well, that's why their names are similar, and their birthdays are the same.

Only, Shina was born later than Shino.

She is the second person, maybe it can't be called that because Shino and Shina are actually 1-because they are twins and can't be said to be different people.

She was a beautiful person, with an elegant aura that stuck with her no matter what she wore.

Her hair is long, with the same blonde color as Shino's which adds to her sweetness.

"Oi Yami! You are okay?" She asked, putting his hands on my hips, bringing his face closer to mine.

I just kept quiet, responding flatly.

Suddenly, her expression changed, and she immediately pulled back her face.

A few seconds later, I felt awkward.

"Yo Shina! We just got kicked out of the library! How?" Shino replied casually.

"Uhh! It must be your fault, right?" Shina responded with a sullen facial expression.

"No, no! I'm just trying to save Yami from her own life."

"It's true, you are too devoted to science. Good job bro! Just keep doing it until he wakes up!"

"Oi oi! How come?" now Shina supported her strange brother while giving her thumbs up.

I looked down with my black shadow over my head like a collection of my annoyance so far.

I sighed, now resigned to what they were going to do now.

They seemed to be talking about something. I smiled, for some reason, I felt happy when they noticed me.

"Yosh! It has been decided! After this school, we're going to go downtown! We will teach you a little "science of life"!" he shouted happily.

"Okay fine. I'm just going with it right? After all, I'm also not given the right to refuse," I replied a little forced.

"Good thing you know!" now Shina replied.

***

The school bell rang, our teacher left the room. The sun shone from the window next to me, pointing straight at me because it was now around 3pm.

Shina rushed over to my desk, dragging me away leaving no time or place for me to go. Or maybe that's what she means.

I just walked lazily, followed Shino and walked next to Shina.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Hmm, how about we watch a movie? It's been a long time since we watched together, three of us." Shino immediately answered enthusiastically.

Uh? It's been a long time? Oh yes I have done this before. I just obeyed.

***

"The film is so unpredictable! I didn't think the heroine betrayed the main character! But in the end he turns out to be doing that for the sake of the protagonist too huh! But I'm satisfied too, the problem is a happy ending!" Shina shouted, who really likes watching movies.

I followed behind her remembering the movie earlier.

What can I learn from that movie, huh? Maybe not easily provoked by others?

Yes, maybe. I just nodded slowly.

After that, we continued our journey to the game center. And I don't know what happened, they dragged me into the photo machine, and asked me to take a photo together.

"Yes! Now, let's find a place to eat!" take Shino.

The torture event at the game center was over. I looked around.

The area is quite, you could even say it's crowded.

But the building is nothing small. Everything is in the form of a building as high as 3 floors.

There are several malls, the previous game center, and even a jewelry store.

"Let's go there!" Shina pointed to a place above the jewelry shop that I had just seen. It's a three-story building, but it looks like only 2 are in use because the top floor is dark.

The wind was blowing, blowing my hair, as if whispering something.

I didn't have time, or never will.

I was a little stunned that I didn't move an inch despite being pulled by Shina. Shina ran, pulling both of us by the hand.

"Shina! Be careful!" right after Shino was silent, she fell down. I immediately woke up from my dream.

"Are you all right, Shina? How about your feet?" I asked. Even so, I know her leg must be 90% dislocated. Otherwise, she couldn't have endured so much pain. I'm a little worried.

"No, no. I am alright. Let's go up!" She continued.

We went up, to the 2nd floor, and immediately took a seat near the window.

Quite comfortable, when finally a waiter came to us. And the three of us simultaneously bought 3 bowls of noodles, for some reason we bought them.

The feel of a beautiful afternoon, like I don't want to let it go. I took a deep breath, enjoying this.

"Hey, how are you? Did you learn anything?" asked Shino who was sitting across from me.

"Yes yes! How about the movie we watch?" now Shina is enthusiastic.

"Well, I enjoyed it because I paid quite a lot for it. Besides, I also have another promise…" I looked down, unable to say it.

Surely my current character wouldn't be fit to say such a thing. I mumbled in my heart almost laughing.

"Well, as long as you enjoy it I'm fine." Shino replied.

"It's been a long time, hasn't it? Since the last time we went out together, the three of us? When was the last time? 3 years ago if I'm not mistaken, when we were in middle school. Well, it can't be helped. Yami is indeed too difficult to coax out. Ha ha ha!" Shino laughed loudly. I smiled at his behavior.

"Eh, Yami is smiling!" said Shina suddenly.

"Not polite! I'm also a human who can smile, you know!" I shouted.

"Alright alright! Then, I'll excuse myself to go to the toilet for a while, okay?" Shina left, but with a somewhat wobbly path.

I again became worried about him.

After she completely disappeared from my sight, I turned my gaze to the window, when suddenly Shino pounded the table.

"Now! You've learned a bit about real life, haven't you?" he shouted loudly.

"Yeah, unlike what you said yesterday, "life" is not that terrible." I said still facing the window.

"Ahh, then, you just saw the bright side of life," he scratched his temples with his index finger while trying to look the other way.

"That's not what I wanted to talk about! Now, we will discuss something more serious. This time it's about feelings." He said pounding the table, then stood up. I was just silent.

"You mean?"

"Well, what do you think my sister? She's very pretty isn't she?"

"Y-Yes, she is indeed very /beautiful and graceful." My answer stuttered.

Uh! Why is my mouth hard to speak? I'm sure I must be sick!

"Yes! That's because he's my twin! Ha ha ha!"

"Please stop! Just imagining it makes me nausea you know!" I shudder.

"Well, that's all, love is all, like you to your parents, me to my sister, and Mrs. Kaila to all her students, it's all called "love" which is all connected to someone's feelings."

"And this feeling is stronger than anything. The stronger the feeling, the stronger a person's heart, the stronger that person will be," he sat down, then faced up, looking up at the ceiling.

"The stronger your heart, the stronger you are?" I asked quietly as I turned my face to look out the window.

The calm state of the city, as well as the day turning into night made the atmosphere even more serious. I sighed.

"So, because of that. When will you learn about feelings? When will you learn about humans? When will you learn to be… friends?"

I, who was still facing the window, gasped a little, it was shock, sadness, anger mixed within me.

I dare not face Shino. My tears will fall. The slightly awkward atmosphere bothered me.

After that, I saw 3 vans from a distance speeding fast, the road was irregular and stopped in an impolite way in front of the parking lot of this shop.

One of them hurriedly stopped in front of this shop, and motioned for others to follow him. Instantly, several people immediately got out of the car, carrying firearms.

"Eh?!" I can't believe what I saw when someone threw an object at us.

Can you believe it when I say that a golden orb sped up, aimed at the glass next to me?

And would you believe me if I said it was a hand grenade?!

No kidding!

Instantly time seemed to slow down and without thinking I immediately shouted.

"Everything! Get down!" I shouted at once and, DUAARR!!

The explosion was enough, it could even be called very large. I can barely hear anything, nor can I see anything.

The whole room is now filled with smoke and ash from the explosion. My vision is a little blurry, while my ears are numb.

"What the hell are happened here?!"
