50 Lunch
After sometime Lucas prepared lunch and called Lyra "Ly, come and eat your food"
Lyra entered the living room and caught the sight of Victor sitting in the corner, she frowned "Are you not eating?"
Victor glanced at her and shook his head "I can go without food for three days once I eat"
Lyra turned towards Lucas inquiring, Lucas chuckled "It is true Ly, Males can go without food after one hunt, but I like to eat in the house with you"
Victor widened his eyes, Did he just miss eating with his love? he sullenly lowered his head in dejection.
Lyra nodded meaningfully at Lucas's words and looked around "Where is Noah by the way? I have not seen him around since morning"
Lucas replied while putting the food inside the stone bowl "He returned to the city of beasts because of some work, I think he will be returning in three days"
She accepted the food bowl and sat on the ground and started eating the food. After finishing it Lucas brought a wide stone pot with clean water. Lyra put her hair in a bun and started washing her face, she halted her actions when she noticed the reflection of a black snake mark on her neck in the water and smiled sadly "I miss him"
Lucas narrowed his eyes "Who? That snake?"
Lyra glared at him "Call him by his name"
Lucas avoided her eyes and marched towards the bedroom. Victor on another hand took a minute to understand who she was referring to and clenched his jaws, 'what was so special about that damn snake that she missed' he couldn't hold his tongue and blurted out "Why do you like Blake that much?"
Lyra came out of her daze and raised her brows "How do you know his name?"
Victor casually replied "We crossed paths in the past"
She eagerly asked, "Are you both friends?"
Victor snickered "No way, why would I make that snake as my friend?"
"Why are you so against it?" she quickly rebutted
"I don't like him, Now answer my question, why do you like him so much?" he repeated his previous question
Lyra thought about it for some time and replied "I don't know the exact reason, but I just love him. Maybe because he is so handsome" then she flicked her fingers "Yes, the thing I like about him the most is his emerald green eyes, I can watch it all day and not get bored at all and also he is sweet and gentle"
Victor blinked his eyes "Sweet and gentle? That snake?" he was having trouble digesting those two words that were related to Blake, in his memory, that snake was anything but gentle and sweet. He then glanced at the naive girl who was not aware of her mate's true nature and sighed. He did not question further because he was scared of hearing more ridiculous words related to that snake.
Lyra finished washing her face and looked towards Victor "Where will you sleep?"
"Here" he replied showing the living room
"On the ground?" she asked doubtfully
Victor smiled faintly "Don't worry, I can build a nest here"
She opened her mouth to speak something but Lucas came out of the bedroom and dragged her inside "Don't show so much care if you are not interested in him, He'll just get the wrong idea"
"I was just asking because of courtesy" She rolled her eyes and replied
"Okay Okay my sweet girl, Now you sleep" he hugged her and covered them with a blanket.
Outside Victor went out of the house and brought some dried grass and made himself a place to sleep and laid on it, his eyes flickered when he looked at the bedroom door, how he wished that he was the one to sleep beside her.
The next morning Lyra's long-awaited period visited her and Lucas was the happiest because of it. After taking bath she entered the room and saw that Lucas was grinning at her, She awkwardly glanced at him "Stop it, you look like a creep"
In return, Lucas's flashed a smile at her and replied "I'm happy that it is now my chance to become a father"
Lyra chuckled "Do you like having children that much?"
Lucas shook his head "No I just like the process of making them"
Her smile dropped as she glared at him "You shameless wolf! How can you say that so casually?"
Lucas smirked at her "You don't like it? But your moans and screams at night say otherwise"
"Lucas!" she seethed at him with a red burning face
Lucas laughed loudly seeing her angry face and approached her "I'm sorry Ly, I'll not tease you anymore. Moreover, we have to move into the city of beasts before that"
Lyra looked at him "We will be moving out of this island?"
He nodded his head "Yes, this place is not optimal in winter when food is scarce, we should leave this place as soon as that snake returns"
Lyra nodded her head in understanding but still felt a little sad, She truly liked this place and wanted to live here, and she would miss Bella.
After their discussion Lucas started packing the things necessary for the journey, As she was walking out of the house, Victor came in front of her "You are leaving this place?"
"Yes, we will leave as soon as Blake returns"
"Then what about me?" he questioned
"What?"
He frowned "I'll follow wherever you go, don't think about leaving me back"
Lyra sighed, she completely thought about leaving him here, before she could respond Lucas spoke "I heard from my men that you are stray beast king, You do know that stray beasts are not allowed inside the city, much less their king"
Lyra widened her eyes and looked at Victor "You are a stray beast? Then why are following me around, don't you guys hate females?"
Victor glared at Lucas and turned to her "No love, I'm not a stray beast, it just happened that I became their king" looking at her irritated eyes he continued nervously "I will give up that seat right at this moment, please don't hate me"
Lyra's face softened "You can do that?"
Victor vigorously nodded his head and ran towards the entrance and turned to her "I'll return after settling this matter love, wait for me"
Lyra just watched as he turned into his beast form and flew up. Lucas came to her side and patted her shoulders "You want him to step down from his seat?"
Lyra just looked forward and explained "I know how problematic stray beasts are for others, they hate females and hurt them, I don't want that bad beastmen to have someone as powerful as Victor by their side" she then turned towards Lucas "I'm more than glad if my words can make him leave their side, Am I selfish?"
Lucas shook his head "You are thinking about all the females that suffered because of them, and indirectly stopping them from committing bigger crimes in the name of an immortal beastman, That bird should be thankful for getting out of that stupid place"
Lyra smiled faintly and hugged his shoulder and leaned her head onto him.

Michael entered the castle hastily and reached the meeting room "Father in law, I have great news for you"
Jacob looked at him "Better be something useful this time, you even failed to kill that bird and lost a perfect opportunity"
Michael excitedly strode towards the table and sat on the stone chair "Leave that matter, I have something more interesting to share with you about my lord"
Jacob scowled "Why are you so excited? Did he sing a song for you?"
Michael chuckled "That will be indeed interesting but it is not that"
The fox king also chuckled and said "Then tell it quickly, don't drag it"
Michael nodded his head and started speaking "My lord met a female in the forest on the day that he was attacked and fell in love with her"
Jacob narrowed his eyes annoyed "I would more believe him singing for you than falling in love, don't spout nonsense"
"I'm not! He truly fell in love and even asked me to attack the mermaid tribe to bring her to him, after I failed he chocked my neck and flew away to bring her by himself" Michael replied
Jacob frowned "You failed? The mermaid tribe dared to challenge an immortal beastman for a single female?"
Michael shook his head "It is not just any random female, she is the one we always talk about, the snake king's mate"
Jacob widened his eyes "Snake king's mate? How did that bird even meet her?"
Michael shrugged his shoulders "I don't know, he said that he met her in the forest"
Jacob narrowed his eyes "That female is indeed something, she already has two immortal beastman and two princes around her"
"I heard that she is pretty" Micahel commented
Jacob raised his brows "Pretty is an understatement, the first time when I saw her at the banquet I was shocked to see such a beautiful female, being in the fox tribe our females are next only to mermaids but that female is not comparable to anyone. That day I judged that her beauty can end or save powerful beastmen and it is already coming to reality. But to think that arrogant bird also fell into her trap, she can become a dangerous foe if she went against someone"
Michael pursed his lips "What should we do now? Isn't it bad for us if so much power leans to someone else's side? Shouldn't we end her life?"
Jacob shook his head "Don't do unnecessary things, our goal is different from that, we should concentrate on finding Theodore's daughter, it is better to pull them to our side than making an enemy of them"
Michael got up from his seat and walked towards the door, but halted his steps and turned around "What if she is Theodore's daughter?"
Jacob was surprised but replied "I hope not, or It will be the most difficult task for us"
