25 We should go there

The tunnel was quite long and dark.

The only light is from the headlights of the car.

The wind almost sounds like they are whispering to their ears as the speed gets faster.

There are a lot of thoughts running in each other's mind.

The silence almost irritated Hyung which made him raise a topic.

"Hey, Jin," Hyung called.

Jin's staring outside as well as Eunica.

"Take out the map from your bag."

Hyung turned on the light inside.

Jin takes his bag and took the map.

"Listen carefully, you too, Eunica."

Eunica looked at the map as well.

"The red line is the way that you should follow but if something came up, the other color line can be followed, it ends in the same place. The yellow dots are the place that you should avoid. It's either there are gangs, police, and... other dangerous people."

Hyung kept his eyes on the road but his eyes are somehow threatening them to avoid the yellow dots.

"Green dots, you can find a friend there, that's the place where you should find the people who can help us. But keep on your mind, yellow dots are dangerous."

"What's this?" Eunica points at the single orange dot.

"That's the most dangerous place. So never end up being there, the map's confusing and one wrong turn, you might end up going there. There's this telepathy that lures the hybrids to go there, and if you just doze off and listened to your animal instinct, you're dead. The plan's dead, we're dead!"

Eunica and Jin looked at each other.

"Protect each other. Guide each other. And trust each other. Don't let your feelings rule over your head."

Both of them blushes.

"See, I know you guys have something, but please, we have to focus on taking back the organization."

Jin gulps.

He suddenly felt the hotness when he smelled Eunica's perfume.

Hyung peeked at them and saw Jin's reaction.

"Hey, the man on heat. Better stay a bit farther then you'll stay calm."

Eunica looked at Jin.

His face is so red and he's sweating.

"Ugh, Eunica, move." Hyung rolled his eyes.

Eunica adjusts and moves away from Jin.

"I really hope that you guys won't bring a kid when you return," Hyung laughs.

Eunica blushes and she feels like she needs to change the subject, "What's in the orange dot?"

Hyung's laugh suddenly stops.

Jin also got curious with Hyung's reaction.

"It's the main base, you see, they think our base, Dominarium, is the main, but no. They made a new main base in the city to have wider access to hybrids."

"Is my family in the main city?" Eunica asks.

"Yes, that's the red dot."

Eunica stared at the red dot, the end of the lines drawn on the map.

It's the goal.

It's the finish line.

She will see her family again.

Jin suddenly felt sleepy as he folds the map when Eunica turned back to the window.

He put it inside his bag and he leans on the window as he closes his eyes.

Eunica notices Jin's sleeping with his slow deep breaths.

"Hyung?" She called.

"Yes?"

"What's happening to Jin?"

Hyung smiles and clears his throat.

"Mating season."

Eunica suddenly stops breathing.

Her face turned red.

She knows what that means.

"You, you should be in that stage but seems like you either can handle it well or that you haven't felt the urge to mate, have you?"

Sheen gulps.

Her sweat drops.

She did before.

It was the thing that almost put her to danger.

"Yes."

She replied slowly with her frowning face and terrified voice, Hyung knew something's not right.

"What happened?"

Hyung knows that he shouldn't ask, but he's worried.

"I was... uh, working at a bar. I was 15 that time, and I suddenly felt the urge. My vision got blurred and it was too hot, I don't know what I did. But I suddenly woke up, naked. Good thing the guy I attacked is a friend. I know he didn't do anything, I was the one who attacked him. I took my clothes off in front of him.. while... I.. uh, seduced him. He knew something was wrong and thought that a customer put something in my drink. I thought so too. Until... right now that you asked me."

Hyung wasn't able to reply to what she said.

'What was Angelo doing? Wasn't he worried for his daughter?'

"Anyways, your starting for the urge is a bit late than Jin. He started to feel it when he's 13."

A long silence suddenly made them uncomfortable.

"Hey, Hyung. Will we see other hybrids as well?"

She closes the window since the air grew colder.

She knows the end of the tunnel is near.

They are near the city.

"Yes, but we can't say if they're a friend or a foe. I don't have any data about them since they hide very well. Only your Mother was brave enough to go out of the hide."

Her eyes suddenly grew tired so she closes them.

"Sheen, I am telling you. Be careful."

She heard Hyung say before she dozes off.

The sound of people talking.

Cars horning.

And Jin's voice wakes her up.

She slowly opens her eyes to adjust to the light.

And there, the city, as lively as can be, right in front of her eyes.

Her lips curved at the sight of the crowd and the buildings that are as tall as the heavens.

Cars are passing by and people walk around them.

She can watch the city play in reality not only in stories and books.

"Wow," she whispers.

"Oh, you're awake!" Hyung smiled at her in the rearview mirror.

"Welcome to the city! Even if we've been here for three hours. You're sleeping like a log! I told Jin to wake you up but you don't even move an inch."

Hyung and Jin were laughing.

But Jin just focused outside.

His eyes are full of wonder and excitement.

'If only we're normal people, we can enjoy this,' Eunica thought.

"So, we'll take a bite before I leave you. I think the Vice President will grow suspicious if I will not appear in his eyes for a long time."

They just nod and they continued on observing the city as they pass on them.

"We're here! Let's eat!"

Hyung parks the car in front of a restaurant.

He went outside first and opened the door for Eunica.

"Come on!"

The restaurant's interior is a log cabin.

It felt like home in the woods.

There are a lot of people but Hyung luckily found an empty table for them.

"Go ahead, pick whatever you like," he said as the waiter hands them the menu.

Eunica got surprised at the price but Jin seemed like it's nothing like Hyung.

"We eat here from time to time when you were young, but I think you don't remember," Hyung whispers in her ears.

'We did? Is that why Jin doesn't mind the price?'

She looked at him but he's already staring at her.

They both looked the other way and Hyung just smiles at them.

'She doesn't remember, right? She used to order strawberry parfait before,' Jin thought.

"I'll have strawberry parfait and pork rice," Jin ordered.

"I will have mango shake and hot mama plate," Hyung said.

"How about you, Eunica?" Both of the guys asked while the waiter's looking at her too.

"Well... I will have... uh, strawberry parfait?" She somehow felt nostalgic saying that dessert.

"And.. uh, vegetable overload with fish fillet."

After a while, they started digging in and filled their stomach to their heart's extent.

Eunica didn't touch the parfait and just stared at it.

'Why do I feel like I've seen this?' she thought.

"Excuse me, I'll get some water," Jin stands up.

The restaurant serves water for the customers who ask for it but the waiter is a bit busy and they can't notice Jin asking.

"Hey, eat that. You love that before..." Hyung took a sip of his shake.

"Before? That means I order this before?"

"Yes, maybe that's why he ordered it for himself."

"I see.."

She took a bite and even though she can't remember the past but she remembers the taste.

"Hm!"

Her eyes filled with happiness.

"See?"

Hyung laughs at her reaction as Jin arrived with water.

"I will drop you here, so let me remind you again."

Hyung folds his hands and stared at the two.

"AVOID THE YELLOW DOT. Stay focus on the green and orange dots. Follow the red line."

Jin and Eunica nod.

Hyung took a deep breath and sighs.

"I wish I can help you, but this is your battle now."

"Don't worry, we can do this. I trained enough for this," Jin assured Hyung.

Ever since the accident, he's been training secretly.

"Eunica, stay close to Jin. Be brave and... be smart."

Hyung stared at them in silence for a long time before standing.

It's as if he's clinging to the time of seeing them.

He doesn't want to let them go but he needs to.

"Let's go."

Jin and Eunica followed.

Both of them stayed away from each other since Jin might suddenly have the urge if Eunica's near him.

They arrived at the parking lot and Hyung helped them take their bags out of the car.

He took his wallet and gave them a handful of money.

"This is not enough, but I have prepared the hotels in every green dot for you to stay in. These are the keys to the room. Anyways, each green dot is a day away from each other. Walk and you will be in the next green dot the next day. If you get stuck in a place, use the tents but look after each other."

Jin looks at Eunica who has worried written all over her face.

Hyung doesn't know how long it will take them.

The estimated time is 2 weeks if there are no problems encountered.

But if there are, 1 month is the longest.

Yet, they can't control what may happen, and time can't be predicted.

Hyung went and hugs them in his arms.

"Be careful."

They waved at Hyung before he drives away.

"So..." Jin takes out the map.

"We'll start here. Then we should go there."
