14 New Generation

It's been a week and Jin haven't woke up.

Eunica starts to get worried about the long time of his after effect.

"Are you sure it's normal, Dr. Arlene?"

Eunica watches Jin's chest rise and fall while talking to Dr. Arlene who's standing beside her.

"Yes, in two or three days, he'll wake up," she said then patted Eunica's head.

"Don't worry."

Since Jin fell unconscious, the base never had anything special to do.

They just continued on doing the normal.

They create new hybrids, train them, lock them up, send them to the war and the cycle just keeps on going around.

The new hybrids were sent yesterday.

They also started the reconstruction of their base.

"You need to wake up, Jin. Or else they'll start to create the new generation of hybrids who will always obey their words."

Eunica found out that after she lost her memory and her uncle became the president, there was no creation of new hybrids since the some of the old scientists did not want to be associated with the new boss.

They had a hard time to find new scientists who can create hybrids.

Until last year, a group of scientist worked with the old scientist and created hybrid quadruplets.

They are all made from fox genes.

Eunica hasn't seen the babies but she knows where they are.

"There are babies beside the observation room. I'll go check them," she said to Jin before standing up.

She's now allowed to go around the base since Hyung took over.

"Dr. Arlene," she greeted.

Eunica saw her while on her way to the observation room and she's holding medicine droppers.

"Why is that?" Eunica asks while pointing to the medicine dropper.

"The new hybrids, the babies, they got sick."

Dr. Arlene is holding medicine for nasal congestion.

"They have a cold?"

"Yes, they might have got it while they were being traveled."

Eunica felt sad for a moment.

Babies aren't that strong to be traveled that far.

They still don't have a strong immunity.

"Are you going somewhere?" Dr. Arlene asks.

"No, I mean, I was going to look at the babies but since they are sick, I think it's better for me to stay away from them."

Eunica was about to walk back to Jin's room when Dr. Arlene grabbed her arm.

"No, I mean, you can see them. I think they really need a female hand there. Soldiers were asked to look after them, but you know boys, they are too rough and it's not helping with the babies conditions. So, can you check on them? If it's possible, please send them to sleep."

Dr. Arlene looked so tired. She must be the one who looks at the babies whenever boy powers can't take care of the quadruplets.

"Okay," Eunica nods.

"Thank you. I'll be back after an hour."

Dr. Arlene went inside the clinic.

As Eunica goes near the babies' room, she can hear their cries and the soldiers' lullabies but it seems like the babies don't fancy their voice.

"Ehem," Eunica clears her throat while watching the four men dancing and singing while the other one seats at the rocking chair with a baby in his arms.

They all paused when they saw her with her smile.

They felt so embarrassed but they did not stop from trying to send the babies to sleep.

"Who needs help?" She asks.

Only the soldier who's dancing the baby raised his hand while the others acted as if they're trying to defend a precious being in their arms. Their soft hearts won't surrender the war.

Eunica went and took the baby.

It is a girl basing from her pink clothes.

She has green eyes and red hair the same as the other three.

Eunica started to softly hum and sway her body and to the soldier's surprise, she fell as sleep at the span of 2 minutes.

"How did you do that? Is that a female's power?" He asks which Eunica laughs off.

"No, you were just so rough. Don't dance the baby that hard and hold her as soft as possible."

The other three soldiers do the same but they stopped the singing and let Eunica hum.

After a while, the other babies fell asleep.

"Wow, so that's how it is done," the soldier on the rocking chair said while looking at the baby.

"Yeah, but I bet they will not have a long sleep with their conditions. Also, why are you guys encharged with this?" Eunica puts the baby in her arms to her cradle.

"Because, they said that we do it. I mean, men can take care of the kids! It's not only a woman's job!"

Eunica laughs while continues her humming.

"I hope they'll grow as sweet as they are today."

The soldiers one by one put the babies in their cradle.

"They will be, as long as you're the one who will take care of them," Rin suddenly entered the room with his soothing calm voice not to wake up the babies.

"Sir," The soldiers said with a low voice while standing up straight with their salutes.

"At ease," Rin said.

"Rin," Eunica greeted.

He walks towards one of the cradles and watched him sleep.

"How's Jin?" He asks.

"He's not yet awake, Dr. Arlene said that he'll wake up after two or three days."

"He has to or else he won't be able to defend himself when he arrives," Rin's eyebrows furrowed.

"What do you mean? Who is he?" Eunica saw that Rin felt annoyed and threatened.

"The President. He wants to pay his new hybrids a visit."

'The president? That old man,' Eunica thought while remembering what his uncle did to their organization and to her father.

"I see. Why do Jin need to wake up?"

Rin looked at her, it hit him that she doesn't know what happened before since she forgot.

She really doesn't remember what happened that night.

"He once almost killed Jin when he's not obeying the vice president."

Eunica suddenly remembered the story, there was a time when Jin cried when his mother won't hug him, his stepfather hit him with a gun from a soldier, it was before they took over the institution.

"I see, don't worry. I will protect him," Eunica clenched her fist in front of her to show that she can protect Jin but Rin suddenly holds her hand.

"No, you need to hide," He said.

"Why?"

Rin looked at her eyes, he's worried for her safety.

"He might hurt you too."

'Ah, it's because I am his enemy's child and I can take this place away from him?'

"I don't know why he will. I am just a lady who works here."

She playfully said while smiling.

"No, you need to hide from him."

Rin sighed before letting go of her hand.

"Just, do what we will tell you to."

He's still the same Rin as before.

He always worries for her and defends her.

He always does what he must in order to assure her safety, even if it means to go against everyone.

'Which is why I am your enemy,' he thought before closing the door and leaves.

"Anyways, what are their names?" Eunica asks the four soldiers.

One of the soldiers pointed each of the babies.

"Since they look the same, we thought that we can differentiate them with the color they are using. They don't have a name when they got here, just numbers like the other hybrids. But Syp said that we have to name them so we called them,"

The other three joined in saying their name,

"Yellow, Pink, Blue and Green!"

Eunica hit their face, making them cry in pain.

"Are you crazy? Does Dr. Arlene know that?"

With the ridiculous names, Dr. Arlene won't agree with that.

"No."

"Then, I'll change it! Remember their names!"

She went to the 'yellow' baby and stared at her for a while.

"She's Aine! The Irish goddess associated with the sun."

The baby smiled while sleeping, making Eunica smile as well.

Then she moved to the 'blue' baby.

"He's Kai, hawaiian for sea."

The baby also smiled before she moved to the 'pink' baby.

"She's Hana, japanese for flower."

Eunica suddenly noticed that the 'green' baby is awake and is staring at her like he's waiting for his name.

"You are Kein, named after one of my friends before. It means ancient and distant."

'The new generation of Hybrids will never be dying just for the sick people. You will be able to live normally with love and happiness, I promise.'

Eunica smiled at them before Dr. Arlene called her,

"Jin's awake!"
