8 Chicken Nuggets
"Ouch..." she touched her head.
It's pounding like someone's beating it every second.
She's still laying on the floor, staying there for a few minutes until her headache subsides.
The whole place is silent as usual, it's white as usual, everything is as usual except for a red light below her bed.
She moves by pulling her body with her feet to reach her bed, the red light was under where she will not see if she's standing.
She touched and found out it's a mic.
"Eh? Stupid security guys, if you want to be under surveillance be sure not to catch attention."
She took it and crashed it with her feet.
"So, they heard me say that stupid pity-me words before? God, they must've loved the drama."
She sits up, resting her back on her bed.
"Sup Yong Park, The Head of Office of Force." She whispers.
After fainting from a headache, she suddenly remembered him.
'He saved me before from something that I feared as well, his face was so tensed, worried, and angry at the same time. He made me sneak out using a hole from his office which ends outside. I've been here before.'
Trying to remember every fragment of her lost memory, her head ached.
The more she tries to remember, the more pain she feels.
It's already past 9 P.M.
'They should be serving her dinner now.'
"Aw, they didn't give me lunch earlier. Maybe because he was here."
Her stomach growl at the same time the door opened.
A soldier gave her the dinner, it's chicken and beans.
She stands up, smelling her favorite dish.
When she was about to dig in, she remembered Jin.
'Did he already ate?' she thought.
For a moment, her appetite got lost somewhere.
"Arrgh! I want to see if he's fine! I want to know if he ate! I want to know!"
She stabbed the desk with her fork but a beep caught her attention.
*beep*
*beep*
She already looked around, below the table, under the bed, in the corners of the room.
Yet the sound always seemed to be near her.
She went in front of the mirror and turn around, it was on her back.
When she touched it, she heard a voice.
"Eunica, this is Syp. I put this on you earlier. I was worried sick when you did not respond for almost 6 hours!"
The small blue circle was a voice transmission device.
Syp put it on her when he was pushing her outside the office.
"I thought I might need to keep my eye on you. They are making their move again."
Eunica frowned, "What? Honestly, I don't know if I should trust you. I don't understand a thing about what's going on!"
She took the voice transmission and put it on the desk beside her plate.
She sits and when she smelled the chicken, she can't help but eat.
"Okay, I know everything is weird and you don't know what is happening but trust me. Only trust me and the hybrids. Never trust anyone other than me and the hybrids. I can't be near you so you have to take care of yourself."
Her mouth was too full to talk even though she wants to ask why all she can say is: "Mmm!"
"Okay, you are an important person to the institution. I will not tell you everything yet because you might not believe me but I will tell you what you need to know. You can help us, the hybrids, to change the way how this place play. You can give the comfort and happiness that everyone before had. You can free Jin from them."
She got chocked on her food when she heard that she can free Jin.
"Are you fine?" Syp asks.
"Mmm mm, I- *cough* food." She said.
She took the glass of water and drank half of it.
She got red from chocking and her throat kinda hurts.
"Okay, no more questions. You'll understand it when you will go home. Your father will tell you everything. For now, keep yourself away from danger. Don't do risky things that will harm you or Jin. I know you will act on impulse if he got hurt. What if I was not the head? What if I was not kind? I might have asked the soldiers to beat Jin in front of you when you went here earlier."
'This guy talks too much, but he's right. I was not thinking,' she thought while pounding her chest to make her feel better from the chocking.
"Okay. I don't understand anything but I will trust you for now..."
'because you helped me before,' she thought.
"Okay, keep this voice transmission with you always. I want to make sure that you won't do anything stupid and... be safe, Eunica."
After hearing that, she felt safe. It feels so similar but she can't pinpoint why and what happened.
"Okay, but how's Jin? Is he alright? Did he eat?"
She finished eating, her stomach feels full but her heart isn't without knowing how's Jin.
"He's... fine. It was a mild pain. He can take it. Yes, he did eat. I told him that you're worried about him so he ate."
She smiled then said her thanks but her headache didn't go away, it just got a little milder.
*beep*
"I'll just sleep this away." She said then went to lay in her bed.
After a few minutes, she was already in her dreams where she saw herself in a very tensed place.
She saw her father hiding her behind him while Syp was shouting at someone.
Then everyone got scared because of something she can't see clearly, other than her father and Syp, everything else is blurry.
Her father kneeled facing her. He was saying something, then someone walked towards them.
They took her away, she saw her father being held down and Syp unconscious beside him.
She knows she was screaming and crying while trying to reach her father.
They put her on a table then tied her hands and feet down.
Everything was blurry, but she can clearly hear their last words before blacking out.
"Erase all her memories and her animal DNA."
The morning didn't greet her well because a soldier shouted at her to wake her up.
"E.A. NUMBER ZERO ZERO TWO!" He shouted.
She woke up with fear and anger.
"WHAT?" She answered with the same tone he has.
"YOU ARE LATE!" Then he shot the door with a loud bang.
Her headaches still there.
She groaned with everything she does.
Even when she was walking to the office, she did not bother to give attention to anything and went inside the Containment Room directly.
Jin was sitting on her chair without any chains.
He was swaying his legs and humming while looking at the floor.
"Jin?" She said while walking towards him.
He raised his head.
She stops walking.
They looked at each other with longing and happiness.
It feels like after what happened yesterday, they got closer emotionally.
Eunica holds her hands behind her while smiling.
Jin smiled at her like it's the first time he ever saw someone as beautiful as her.
Her black short hair, her brown eyes, her smile...
"Beautiful," he whispered.
She went near him then leaned, whispering "I missed you."
Jin got stunned, 'Did she remember?'
He watches as Eunica stand properly in front of her.
"I missed that cute looking Jin that I knew!" She said while looking at him.
'I thought she remembered me.' He sighed.
"So, I was asked to ask you the similar questions before." She got confused because he already answered it before and he said he doesn't know.
"Where are your friends going?" She asks still standing up.
She plainly asks this because she was expecting the same answer.
She looked at the observation room then rolled her eyes when she saw the fake Head of Force.
Jin crossed his legs while smirking at the Observation Room.
"At West Zone. That's where free hybrids live." He answered.
Eunica got surprised with the changed answer, she looked at him with disbelief.
"What? Were you lying to me?" She said.
Jin moved forward then pulled her.
Making her lean towards him then he whispered, "No, I was playing with them. It would be boring if I let everything out in one blow."
His voice was so soft and low, his breath tickles her ear making her blush.
"Oh," was all she can say.
She stands up again, but Jin's still holding her arm.
Suddenly the speaker beeped, then the Head asks,
"What were you whispering about?"
Both of them looked at the Observation Room,
"Chicken Nuggets," she said.
'What?' she even finds herself stupid for that answer.
"What?" The head asks with an annoyed tone.
"I want to ask if I can eat chicken nuggets later," Jin said with a mocking smile at the Head.
The Head's eyebrow flinched but he did not ask anything more.
