21 Blame

It's been three days but only Jin was awake.

He just woke up yesterday and the first thing that he did was fly into a rage.

He insisted into following the President and even confronted his mother who just gave him the silent treatment.

He's staying in his room while sitting on the bed.

He can't make up his mind.

He blames himself.

He doesn't even know what he wants anymore.

Safety?

Happiness?

Freedom?

If Eunica needed to be in danger just for them to be free, he will choose to lose his freedom.

He blames himself for what happened to Eunica.

He clenched his fist while tears are streaming down his face.

The image from when Hyung was carrying Eunica in his arms while she was dripping in blood kept on replaying on his mind.

He felt the pain she went through.

"She might've been calling me," his cries became louder as he imagines what Eunica did when she was alone and scared.

He didn't visit her because he's afraid of what he might see.

Eunica in such condition breaks his heart.

He grinds his teeth as he curses the President and Sore.

"I will surely give you hell before you can even die," he whispers.

His face was turning into his animal form when suddenly someone knocks on the door.

He wipes his tears and calmed down.

"Jin, Doctor Arlene wants to check you again," a soldier said.

Jin stands up and went to the clinic.

He avoided looking at the room's window in the hallway.

Eunica's there fighting for her life.

Her face went back to normal but her internal organs weren't turning back to normal.

The bones did turn back to a normal state but they are still considered as fractured.

"Jin," Dr. Arlene greeted.

Jin's face looked annoyed, angry, sad, and lonely.

"I just want to check on you, are you okay?"

Doctor Arlene noticed that he looks like he's not fine,

No one is fine.

Something happened and everyone knows that.

Every official in the base knows it.

The rumors even spread that the Dominarium Base had an accident with staff and the hybrid is to blame which is Jin.

The other base wants to kill Jin.

But the Vice President and the Secretary took care of it.

"Eunica is--" Dr. Arlene got cut-off by Jin while he's turning around to the door.

"I don't want to hear, I'm going back to my room," he was about going out when Dr. Arlene speaks again.

"She needs you! What are you doing? You're going to leave her there?"

He suddenly stops, he was already outside holding the door to close it.

"When you were unconscious, there was no day that she didn't stay with you! Even if she has to eat, she will eat beside you, if she sleeps, she sleeps sitting beside you, she reads you stories, she was with you!"

He gave a resentful look.

"She needs you, I know you're blaming yourself, but it's not only your fault. It was no one's fault, but if you want to blame yourself, blame us as well! We promised to protect you and Eunica, but we failed,"

Jin heard Dr. Arlene's sob, making him turn back.

"We're sorry," she covers her face while tears are streaming down.

She knows what Eunica felt.

But Eunica felt greater pain and fear than her.

"I was supposed to stay with her," he clenched his fist while looking down.

"I should've waited for her to get out of the cafeteria even though she didn't follow me. I should've stayed outside her room. I should've looked at every room we have in this f*cking base. I should've listened to my instincts. I should've--" Dr. Arlene pats his back as his tears stream down.

Dr. Arlene knew that she can't feel what Jin is feeling right now.

He just woke up and now Eunica's the one in danger.

She's barely living.

It's just the start of taking back what is hers but now...

"He..lp," they heard Eunica talking faintly.

It was full of fear and pain.

They rush to her room and saw her tears streaming down as her eyes are widely open.

She's staring at the ceiling but it looks like she's in a nightmare.

"Help..." she whispers once more, "Jin.."

Jin suddenly froze.

'Is this how she called me?' he thought.

He covered his mouth in disbelief.

Dr. Arlene ran to Eunica.

"Eunica, we're here, don't worry, darling.." She said then check on her vital signs.

Jin can't move while looking at Eunica.

"Help..." she repeats while she slowly looked at Jin, "Jin.."

Jin's eyes widen.

He can't bear to see her like that.

"Jin.." Eunica watches as he turns his back on her.

"JIN!" She shouted, jolting Dr. Arlene and stopping Jin from leaving.

"You're fine, Jin's fine..." Dr. Arlene caresses Eunica's back.

"Sorry," Jin was standing at the door looking at Eunica.

"Sorry," he kept on repeating.

Eunica just smiles.

She's safe.

She saw Jin.

He's here.

Her eyes suddenly grew tired and shut itself.

Jin went beside her and held her hand.

"She's sleeping, don't worry she'll get back up after a few days. Now that she woke up, her organs should be fixing itself now. The regenerating fluid that I gave her is working now."

Dr. Arlene left Eunica and Jin alone.

"Don't blame yourself, they'll pay back someday," Dr. Arlene's voice was cold.

Her expression shows anger.

She blames herself as well, but she knows who should take the blame.

Hyung's already secretly contacting the other hybrids who got to escape when Luinn forcibly took the organization.

As well as other friends that are hiding in the dark.

He also sent a message to Eunica's father, Angelo, about what happened to his daughter.

"We'll get what's ours, just wait," Dr. Arlene and Hyung thought with a piercing look.

"I love you," Jin whispers while wiping Eunica's tears.

"They'll pay back."

Jhon and the others were instructed to stay in the base with Jin to watch them and report.

They were standing behind Jin while the twins were crying.

"We're sorry, we let them escape," Jhon said, clenching his fist.

"No, that was what we told you. Stand down and do what they told you," Hyung entered the room.

"It's fine, I'm glad you're safe," Jin said, still watching Eunica.

"How are the others?" Hyung asks.

"Camil's looking after Sir Angelo, she said you told her to send the message about Eunica," Jhon answers.

"Yes, how about the ones in Eunica's previous base?"

"They are waiting for your signal, as well as the soldiers and scientists."

"Good."

Jin just listens to the conversation, telling himself that Eunica will get the justice she deserves.

"I won't watch you kill them, let me be the one to kill Sore and that Luinn," he said.

"What about your mother?" Hyung asks.

He's been wondering what Jin thinks of his mother ever since they betrayed the organization.

"What about her? I will kill her too if she defends her husband."

Dr. Arlene stops the Secretary from entering the room but she stops when she heard what Jin said about her.

She just stands frozen, holding the door knob.

"See, even your son will kill you," Dr. Arlene pulls Mrs. Luinn's hand from the door knob.

"So stay away from us and don't tell your husband about this, you don't want to kill your son, right?"

The secretary has a bitter look before leaving.

She never did became his mother.

He never felt her love.

How can she feel sad about what he said?

He doesn't see her as her mother.

She didn't treat him as a son.

But she wants to protect him.

She wants Jin to smile again like before.

She stops in front of the Vice Presiden't Office, "Let's start the game," she whispers before opening the door.
