2 SAID I LOVE YOU BUT I LIED (Episode 2)

"Hello, Kathleen, I'm sorry, Henry and I went to the Hospital. Do you remember what I have told you last time when we brought a victim of a stabbing in the Hospital? He was still unconscious and miserable," William explained over the phone.

"So, our date today is postponed?"

"Sorry, Kathleen I'll just make up next time... hello?... hello Kathleen? are you still there? Oh, she just hanged the phone," said William a little bit mad at her.

"See William? I told you she would definitely be angry with you. And who on earth wouldn't be upset, you let her stood up in your meeting place for one or two hours perhaps without you even phoned her," said Henry a little bit sarcastic.

"Yeah, Yeah, sometimes Kathleen and I have misunderstood, especially if I'm the one who made the shortcoming. But mind you, If she was the one who made that shortcoming, she would just say sorry and of course, I'll accept it. Because she knew in her mind that I couldn't live without her. Unfair isn't it? That's why she always like that, no change."

"Tell me the truth, William, do you love her? Or, you just lie to her saying you love her but the truth is you don't."

"This time I couldn't answer you directly because I don't even understand myself. When we talk together, we are happy and we both dream about our future. She would tell me how much she loves me, without me she would die, and so am I to say I love her but there was a feeling inside me that I'm just lying to her. Why Henry? Why? What's happening to me?" said William as if the whole world is in his shoulder.

"So, what are you planning to do now? Break her? Or what?"

"I don't know yet. In the meantime, I'll just consider maybe our three years of relationships to be fair with her.

"But suppose you are married to her, and with that kind of Kathleen's attitude, do you think you would be happy? If you are married to her and your life became miserable, how would you handle it? You will get a divorce? That would lead to a broken family. So better think twice and decide on the better solution before it's too late."

"Thank you, Henry, for your advice. I'll think of what to do in our present situation."

"Right, as early as possible, better let her know your true feelings or your marriage will be hell if you pretend of loving her."

As William gets home

"William, Kathleen has called you twice asking your whereabouts and it seems that she was mad at you, I'm just telling you," said William's mother.

William just ignored what was her mother said and instead went straight to his room. And in his sleep, though he was awake, he saw the picture of Helena in his subconscious mind.

"Why Helena suddenly appear in my mind? How do I feel about it? Do I just have pity on her? Or what I feel was something coming from my heart?" said William to himself.

And in the journey of his spirit, he was fast asleep. And suddenly on his dream appear, Helena, dancing like a Princess and so beautiful in her white dress.

"Come on William, let's dance," said Helena.

"Okay"

"William, how much do you love me?"

"I love you not because you are you but because you saved my life and I'm not sure if you knew this when I first met you, I got so nervous. I couldn't speak at that very moment because I was thinking that I have found the one and my life had found its missing piece. And from now 'till my very last breath, this day I'll cherish you. Helena, you look so beautiful in white. I love you so much."

"William... William Quick, wake up you're struggling in your dream," said his mother.

When William realized it was a dream

"Oh, what a dream? But I don't like that dream. I don't like it really," said William.

"William, your graduation is near, you must study very hard."

"Yes, mommy"

William will be graduated from college next semester. So, he has a lot of plans. He wants to work abroad after graduation. He will save a lot of money so he can put up a business of his own.

William called up Henry on the phone.

"Henry, let's go together to the school."

"Okay"

"William, you come home early, Kathleen will go here to talk to you."

"Yes, mommy"

Suddenly, after hearing what his mother said, William lost his good mood and he didn't why."

After school, when William was about to get home, the police chief called him and requesting him to drop by, including Henry.

"Henry, where are you now? We are told by the chief of police to drop by at the station."

"Okay, let's meet at the corner, near the precinct."

In the precinct

"William, we have some guys picked up and see if you and Henry could recognize the culprits."

"PO1 Jack, let them stand sideways"

"Yes, boss"

"There, try if you can pinpoint the culprits," said the chief of police.

The two stared at the persons in row for almost fifteen minutes,but they couldn't recognize them.

"Chief, sorry"

"Okay, thank you for coming and for your cooperation."

When William returned home

"William, Kathleen came and waited for you for an hour, but instead of waiting for another hour she decided to go home."

"Mommy, Henry, and I went to the police station."

"Why? Are they not caught yet?"

"Not yet, mommy"

"How about the victim, how is he now?"

"He's still in a comatose state, mommy."

Since William and Kathleen have not seen yet, it's for sure Kathleen will nag him.

The next day at the school, the two met and so they had a talk.

"William, be honest with me. Are you avoiding me? Is it because you have someone else?" said Kathleen angrily.

"It's not like that, Kathleen. Didn't I tell you before that we were helping the police for their investigation to the case of the victim we brought to the hospital?" explained William.

"Even though, I feel that you are taking me for granted."

"Look, Kathleen, I don't even understand you.You always angry with me, you're always attacking me. Whereas, if you were the one having shortcomings, I always try to understand your side. Why?" said William emotionally.

From what Kathleen had heard from William, she thought a little, and then she even apologizes for all her shortcomings.

After a few minutes of silence, William spoke again.

"Kathleen, let's cool off first. This I think would be the best remedy we could do right now, and perhaps our three years relationship would be back. Let's start all over again."

"I don't want William, promise, I'll change."

"I'm sorry, Kathleen. You have said the same thing many times before, remember? And still, I've tried to understand you. But, look, Kathleen, you haven't changed, have you? My decision is final, I'm sorry. I'm taking a break with you."

"What? Is that what you want? Okay, let's break if that's what you want, why? Do you think you're the only guy in this s**t world?"

"It's not like that what you think, Kathleen. For me I also don't want a break, I want space so I can breathe. From the time we became lovers, we were still young then, so much has changed in ourselves, in our thinking, in our feelings and emotions, all of that, Kathleen, we should analyze everything for our happiness and for the better."

"All right, William, if that's what you want, I won't force you. I Hope, you somehow remember me."

After Kathleen has said it, she ran crying, very fast, and suddenly as she was crossing the street, she didn't notice a car coming fast, and she was hit and died instantly.

In that event, the people were in turmoil. An ambulance arrived, as well as the police investigating the incident.

"Were you the driver who hit the victim?" asked the police.

"Yes, officer, but it wasn't my fault, sir. She suddenly crossed the street without looking," explained the driver.

William was shocked, he approached the lifeless Kathleen, who was lying in the middle of the street.

"I'm sorry, Kathleen, I didn't expect this to happen to you. When I said I love you, I was wrong. I said then, that I love you, but I lied. Sorry, may you have peace in the afterlife," said William without even noticing that tears were flowing in his eyes, because in his mind, at least he loved Kathleen in anyways. Sad, the very sad parting between lovers.

After that tragedy, time passed easily. And the bad events in William's life were also slowly disappearing.

William has graduated from college. He finished his engineering career. And he was even hired to work abroad.

"Henry, I'm leaving for Canada in a month. Just keep me informed for whatever news you have, especially in the case of Harry. But before I leave, I was thinking of seeing Helena, for the sake of friendship," said William.

"Of course, William, don't worry you'll be kept informed,

"Thanks, Henry"

"Next week we'll visit Harry"

"Harry or Helena," said Henry laughing.
