17 Marie Doesnt Like Damien

Henri looked around for Marie. She finally spotted her next to Damien, who she was currently glaring at while holding by the collar with a peeved expression on her face.

Henri jogged over to Marie quietly coming up. behind Damien and clearly giving her a ' Don't cause trouble' look.

Marie huffed and puffed into Damien's face before putting the weaselly boy down roughly.

"Agh! Henri your out of the carriage already!" Marie said as she adeptly pushed Damien aside and moved closer to Henri.

" Was your ride comfortable?" Henri asked Marie looking over for any irregularities in her appearence.

"It was satisfactory. But next time I wish to ride with you if possible. Unfortunately I dont think I have anything pleasant to talk to Damien about at this moment." Marie said snidely, briefly glaring at the boy standing behind her out of the corner of her green eye.

"Ah, Okay I see. I hope to travel with you too next time." Henri said giving a little weak wink with her left golden eye.

Marie's emerald green eyes brightened at hearing these words come from Henri's mouth.

Henri glanced over at the Suntusk Boar, seeing that they were behaving, she let out a sigh of relief.

She had only just recently obtained them afterall, she wasn't 100% sure that they wouldn't cause any trouble for the guards who were driving the carriage that they were pulling.

"I overheard that we're going to be sleeping in the deceased Romane the Merchants tent. I'll go see to it that its properly prepared for you Henri." Marie announced as skipped off towards the direction of Zeriff and the others with a smile atop her small symmetrical doll- like face.

Henri watched Marie prance off and couldn't help getting a funny feeling for some reason or another.

'Whatever, it's probably fine.' She thought to herself before turning to address the boy who was just standing nearby, continuously staring at her.

Moving her left hand in front of Damiens face, Henri inquired, "Hello?"

Abit intimidated Damien couldn't help but let out a small yelp.

Henri; ...

Henri stared at Damien waiting for a reply with a bland expression on her face.

Damien finally registered that Henri was in front of him trying to get his attention, so he quickly shook his head, and got his internal thoughts into order before replying " Ahaha. Henri you were really cool when you beat up those bandits! Do you know how to use a sword?"

His big innocent eyes stared at her seemingly filled with hope.

Henri folded her arms across her chest and looked at the child in front of her.

He was undoubtedly older than her, but only if in a physical aspect.

He clearly was still a child at heart.

Henri thought to herself that that was probably for the better. Once your childhood innocence has been stolen it is indeed impossible to get it back.

Looking into the boy across from hers eyes, Henri decided to answer his question.

"Of course I can use a sword. You use it to kill people." Her reply was rather curt and to the point. Highly satisfied with her answer, she awaited to see his response.

Damiens little pink mouth fell agape, in a little "o" shape. He couldnt believe the dashing and seemingly justice driven boy named Henri in front of him would reply with such a crude, and uncouth answer.

But he guessed that his statement was somewhat true. You do use swords to kill people afterall.

"Ah I meant do you know swordsmanship? Like the art of sword play." Damien stated trying to make clear what point he was trying to get across to the other.

"Oh I know some. You should of specified what you meant sooner, Damien." Giving a slight reprimanding look to Damien, Henri stated as if it was obvious that others wouldn't of understood what he meant before either.

"Anyway, what about you? What do you know how to do? Your credentials?" Henri unleashed a quick fire barrage of questions at poor Damien.

Slightly excited for so much attention of someone around his age, Damien gladly answered Henri.

"I was apprenticed as a fletcher in another city for 3 years but sadly my master got severely ill and now cant manage teaching me anymore with his poor health."

"So archery.... What your saying is that your good at archery?"

Damien "....."

"Ah, I guess not?" Henri said sheepishly as she began to rub her chin with her right hand abit.

"Are you from Sunfall city Damien?" Changing tactics, Henri inquired about his place of origin.

"Yep! How'd you know?" Damien exclaimed in what looked to exactly be shock?

Henri didnt know if she should answer him or not...

Damien kept looking at her waiting for her to say something back to him in response.

Henri decided it was best if she indulged the kid a little to hopefully glean more useful intel.

"Well you were with your Uncle right? You were obviously returning from somewhere. So you would naturally be returning home, no?"

Although this was somewhat of a dumned down version or her reasoning, she didnt want to actually waste to much breath talking if she was to be genuinely honest.

After using the draconic healing arts one wouldnt itmeditely tire, but after some time the initially delayed effects would hit the user rather suddenly.

Henri was currently being bombarded with painful waves of aches and pain all over her body.

She had definitely used the art too much.

Her little body just couldnt handle all the stress without showing signs of weakening it seems.

Her mottled heritage seemed to be rearing its ugly head once again...
