6 Chapter 6: Independence

Kai: Seriously! They're canceling the meteor festival?!

The theater members got rile up and begin speaking to their peers. Louis silences them with: the stare.

Louis; Until they find evidence of who broke into the campus, that or extension. Bill approach Louis baffled.

Bill; Look, Loui. You can talk to the board, and you're the Beastar.

"And do you want a missing student?"

"No, I-"

Louis; Learn to make sacrifices. This world won't give you a pass because of your careless act. He leaves leaving, Bill baffled while an explosion of questions and complaints erupts.

Standing on the top floor, Xabier is leaning on the railing watching, the debut.

He hears someone climbing the ladder and noticed Kabier.

Kabier; Yo, that sucks, right? He leans on the railing shoulder by Xabier.

Xabier; Yes, it does. I failed to catch that guy or girl...whoever.

Kabier; Zay, don't beat yourself down. And Whoever they, are they can parkour means they can be dangerous. I rathered not to go to Meteor Festival than Lose you. He sides hug Xabier with a smirk. Don't worry about it. He pats his back and descends down the ladder.

Xabier; It's hard not to. Ellen watches Xabier from below.

Xabier walks to the rooftop where He last saw the Stranger.

Xabier; 'The more I notice, I realized this history is the same, but twisted. Whoever they are, they're probably out for herbivores or Carnivore or maybe us. It can be some pathetic creep...' He leans on the edge staring down the fifteen-foot drop. Xabier remembers The Stranger dropping window to window. He noticed something shining blow reflected by the sun above him. 'Or some suspect.' He heads into the alley and inspects a custom-made cigarette lighter.

The design was a yellow dragon with its mouth at the end of the lighter. He lights it watches, it blaze.

"This could be pointless because this is irrelevant." He said under his breath until his eyes lands on an imprint. 'The Lone Drager' Xabier pulls out his phone, typing the place up, but it only shows the part of the center of town. "It's not dead on, but it's something."

Xabier planned his moves carefully. He didn't want anyone to know about this, even his brother.

Today was a school day, so he snuck out of campus doing something he hasn't done in his previous life, disobey orders.

Guilt showered him, causing his heart to race, but deep down, he's enjoying his not so; norm life.

-Haru flashback-

Haru was seen. Walking through the path of her club garden. Carrying a flower vase until she saw the aftermath of Louis's shredded horns. She screams, dropping the vase while Louis noticed her.

Louis; Ah...Sorry. I startled you. He gave a default look while his scarlet blood drips his head onto the rooftop floor.

Haru; What happened to you?!

"It's one of these summers. Louis walks up to Haru with a glare. If you tell anyone about "Louis the red deer" lose his antler, you'll regret it."

Haru replied, not fazed. But, yet confused.

Haru; No, one hardly comes to help me, and as for the members there, basically ghosts. And your "Louis the red deer"?

Louis; You don't know me?

" No, is that a bad thing?" She looks up at him curiously.

The afternoon light blinds into white while Haru stirs awake.

They finish doing the deed while covers were on herself as Louis put's on his uniform back on with his green blazer.

Haru saw Loui's eyes that look sad in them, she's trying to make him happy, but nothing works.

Louis; Are you going to the Meteor Festival? Louis puts on his dress shirts.

Haru; Yeah, I got to sell shrubs and flowers to raise money, but sense Kabier help raised, selling snacks. I think I have enough to buy pots and a tent, but sadly they might move the event. The only thing I need is your love. She hugs Louis from behind.

Louis grunts.

Louis; 'Does that idiot. Know he's breaking school regulations? That bastard! If he gets anywhere near her, I'll kill him.'

Haru hides her frown.

"What do you have against him?" Haru questioned while Louis put on his blazer and walks out the glass slide door as Haru sighs.

"What are you two doing here?" Haru heard Louis's voice, and she checks out who he was talking to. She found Kabier holding a brown bag that she order while Legoshi scratches his jaw.

Haru hides behind the wall as she pulls her ears.

Haru; 'Why do they have to be here at this time of day?!!!'

Kabier; Huh? Haru called me to pick up her order at Sakura. Kabier held on to his bag.

Legoshi; I had some business with someone in the garden club but saw Kabier heading the same way... So we talk-

Louis; Talk? Haru not here. Louis walks up to Legoshi with his arms cross. Legoshi sweats while Kabier kept a default stare with a bouncing brow.

Louis; 'Why am I panicking?'

Kabier; 'Is Bambi making me jealous?'

Legoshi; That he's going to leave after he drops off her order. And did you have anything we need from the gardens club? If you ask me, I would have done it for you. I'll have to say the same question as you.

Louis; Since the Meteor Festival, I thought we could use some flowers for the dance, that's why I'm acquainted.

Legoshi; Acquainted? Legoshi said curiously. Kabier blocks out their voices, while he thinks to himself.

Kabier; 'Welp, there goes the next plot on zootropia two. Kabier does a movie narrator's voice in his head. Since zootropia came to peace with Carviore and herbivore alike, now a new problem a floats. Two boys, Bambi and Nick, fight for her love, but she doesn't know who. Will Judy choose Nick or Bambi? Zootropia two coming next summer.'

Louis; Humans leave it here. She'll claim it. Kabier sighs, doing so and, following the two out the door, but as the door open. It swings close as Kabier stood in the garden with a satisfied grin.

Kabier; Hey, Haru. I know you're in there. Kabier slides the door and walks in, ignoring the frightened Haru in her covers. Here's you're carrots supreme and steam carrots. Wait, do you rabbits only eat Carrots? Kabier places her food on the dress top by her bed.

Haru; K-Kabier. I can explain. Haru shakes while she got up, still covered. 'Am I feeling regret?'

Kabier: I don't mind. I didn't have sex with you or anything. He said with hurt in his voice, but he walked backward toward the dumbfounded Haru as he squats while he let his arms loose.

" K-Kabier, what's going on?" Kabier moves his fingers. He wants her to climb on his back. Haru was hesitant but; does so. He walks to her bed and drops her off on it.

Kabier's back was turned from Haru.

Haru; Um..you and Legoshi. Kabier's eyes widen without alerting Haru. Legoshi. I'm slowly seeing it, but it's a little rocky.

With you, Kabier. I feel we have been separated for a long time and, finally, we found each other, even if your a human and I'm a herbivore. Haru said softly reaching, for his shirt without Kabier knowing.

Kabier; I'm flatter, but.. Haru's hands stop. I don't know. He's was in jumbles.

"What are you telling me?" She shook.

"When I see you with Legoshi, I see a spark between you two. Like beauty and the beast, their universes are different, but somehow they found out how to be together."

"Get out." Her clutch hands shook.

Kabier; What? Kabier turns around to see a devil in her eyes. Kabier steps back.

Haru; GET OUT!!! I WANT YOU OUT MY LIFE!!! Haru pushes Kabier out and slams the door in his face.

Kabier; Haru..I-Haru closes the curtain to her glass door. I love you, Haru, but- Kabier growls clutching his head with a swarm of doubt and confusion. RAAAGH!!! He storms away.

Haru; I-I love you, too. Idiot. Haru cries softly into her hands.

Kabier walks out of the garden exit and slides down on the door crying his eyes out.

Kabier; I-I-I'm sorry, Haru. Forgive me. For-give meeee!! Ah. Ha. He cries harder.

Tears rain from his eyes, hitting the cold floor while his cries echoed the stairway and halls.

Xabier watches his phone following the GPS in the mid of the afternoon while ignoring the curious gazes.

Xabier; 'I'm almost there.' He turns a corner heading into the dark alley. He's instincts, arguing to go back, but Xabier remembers the plot and how Kabier hid his feelings talking to him. He needs this.

He came to a stop staring at a delivery truck.

'This must be the place.' His phone glitches, screwing with his GPS.

Xabier; Crap. He whispers while the delivery truck moves to the side, flashing. A light-seeking between the gap as it reflects his phone, gaining his attention.

"This-the; the place." He stutters.

He enters, gaining everyone's attention. All eyes on him, from big to small, built, too slim. Being endanger human in an animal society is eye-catching, especially in the black market.

Market Seller; Hey, sir. Are you interested? For a seasoned Shish kabob.

Xabier's mouth watered under his taste buds.

Xabier; 'No, NO! Fish is all I need!' Uhm, no thanks. I'm looking for The Lone Drager.

Market Seller; You sure? I sell the lean, mean Shish Kabobs here. And there fresh, unlike those poseser.

Market Seller 2; Gilbert, you shouldn't be talking. Look, kid. You get a better deal with me, steak lean and tender how mother used to cook them.

The market seller burst into laughter.

Market Seller; You can't be serious? Your mother nearly burn your apartment down! Market Seller 2 growls.

Xabier; The Lone Drager, please.

Market Seller 2; Keep down and take a left. You'll know when you see it.

"Thanks." He took his leave or more like a sprint. The aroma swirls into Xabier's nose tempting, him as Xabier was going crazy. He knew their meat was dead bodies, and this world gave him a different perspective of being Carnivore. He followed the direction, relieving Xabier from the Aroma. And there stood the strip joint 'The Lone Drager'

He climbs the steps, and a Rhino stood there with his arms cross.

Rhino-Bouncer; ID. Xabier hands, him it and he inspects him.

Xabier; 'I wish Kabier was here. He will flip.' He heads to the bar, luckily no one was there while it seems the room is by the front stage.

The emo-cat smirks placing her hands on the counter.

Emo-cat; Welcome. I never expected a human to be in a dump like this. What can I do for you?

"Um, I'm wondering do you know who drop this? He hands her a lighter while the emo-cat inspects it."

Emo-cat; Hmm, it's Jessica. Where did you find it?

Xabier; On a sidewalk, to be honest. I was gonna sell it until I saw that imprint.

Emo-Cat; Ok, I'll let her know.

"W-wait." The cat raised a brow. "I like to give to her personally." She thinks for a bit.

Emo-Cat; If so, you gonna pay for a private dance. Xabier's mentally sighs.

Xabier; How much?

Emo-Cat: I can always take it to her. Xabier grumbles under his breath, paying her that amount while she giggles. Room 3. Have fun, hot stuff.~

Xabier; Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. Her giggle grew into snicker while Xabier gazes, seeing a door with a rainbow neon sign above it. 'VIP Dance'

He heads there while a Gorrila-Bouncer lets him in. He heard the music in the background. But hearing his shoes tap on the floor.

He passed the other rooms going to assign.

Xabier enters, seeing the Exotic dancer.

Jessica; Hey, hot- Oh hell, no! Not you again! Jessica covered her self while he does the same but look away. They blushed.

Xabier; Look, I don't know. We met or not, but this is important. He flashes the lighter as this clue was proved right.

Jessica; Where the hell, you get my lighter?! Xabier's calm demeanor returns.

Xabier; Don't remember kicking the door in my face? He said with a hint of anger while Jessica was beyond confused. Don't play dumb.

Jessica; Fuck you! She snatches the lighter back. Leave or, I'm getting security!

Either she was a good actor, or this was a dead end.

Xavier; 'Shit.' Fine. He leaves the room. And made it back to the main room, walking past the bar getting a glance from the Emo-Cat. He made it back outside, with his throbbing brain. 'I need more evidence. This crap is harder than it looks.'

He walks down the alley while the wind blew ever so slightly. He snaps around but was put on his back in an instant.

"Damn-" A gun clicks, putting Xabier on edge. The Stranger had its handgun drawn to his face.

Staring down the end of the barrel. Xabier's life flashes before his eyes. His Schoolwork, Family, Kabier, friends, and Ellen. A tear drip from his eyes onto the messy street while he shakily smiles. 'I'm sorry, Kabier. Don't worry, I'll always be you.'

The Stranger lowers the gun, surprising Xabier.

The Stranger; Drop this investigation. It distorted voice replied, dropping a pile of photos to the dirty street. Xabier's breath shook.

Photos like Kabier and Haru in bed together, Legoshi and Jack; sitting in an empty pool eating from there bento, and Ellen sleeping. And Louis looking frustrated while Legoshi is confused.

"Do that, and none of them have to get hurt."

It backs up still at gun-point while it ran into the shadows while Xabier pants.

Kai: Hey, K. Can't you believe: they actually going through it? Kai, Kabier, and Legoshi were painting the T-Rex.

Kabier; Hey, Legoshi?

Legoshi looks at Kabier with hum by the T-rex mouth while Kai grunts, annoyed.

"Can you get me some water, please?" Kabier held his bucket.

"Uh, sure. I have to fill mine too." Legoshi climbs down the ladder with his bucket in hand and took Kabier's as he said

"Thank you" under breath, Legoshi nods, and he heads for a sink behind the tents between the food stand and ring toss.

Kai; Yo, Kabier? You, ok, pal? You haven't been talkative since we started. Kai looks over the left of the unpainted foot of the T-Rex.

Kabier; I'm, Fine, kid. Kabier forces a smirk. We should focus on the T-Rex so you could get a juice box break. Surprisingly Kai didn't get pissed off but gave him a sad look.

Kai; K, what's wrong? Is someone bullying you?

" No, I would have taken care of them. Let's finish." He accidentally paints it brown. Kabier furiously growls.

Mizuchi was behind a tent that presents to be a photo booth as she glares. Mizuchi found, Kabier crying by the door of the garden club but didn't want to make his pain worse.

She leaves the tent and sees Legoshi wave at Haru before he left with two buckets of water. Mizuchi walks up to Haru while furious aura radiating from her. Haru noticed and sigh.

Haru; Look, Mizuchi. Today is not- Mizuchi pulls on her ear as Haru yelp. Mizuchi throws Haru into the ground between the academy wall and the outside wall.

Mizuchi: I'm going to enjoy this. She cracks her knuckles.

Haru gets up as she brushes: the dirt from her white uniform.

Haru; Where're your lackeys? It seems you- Mizuchi sprint to Haru landing, a blow to Haru chin. She hits the ground while Mizuchi got on top pummeling Haru.

Mizuchi; You bitch!!! I'LL KILL YOU!!! Haru blocks a jab with her arm, headbutts Mizuchi off her.

Mizuchi was daze, clutching her nose until Haru tackles her into the academy wall and punches her gut.

Haru: I told you I have nothing to do with him!!! Haru punches Mizuchi's face as she stumbles from the wall but stood standing.

Scratches and red marks cover Haru's face as Mizuchi was left a red, white cheek. They pant for air as their fists were up.

Haru; I sleep with him, yes. I'm sorry about that. He keeps asking for more, but I decline. Mizuchi roars: furiously as she charges. Haru dodges and hops on Mizuchi back, putting her in a headlock as she wraps her legs around Mizuchi's chest.

Mizuchi: I don't know what you did with him, but YOU MADE HIM CRY!!!! Mizuchi runs into the Academy wall, knocking the air out of Haru, but she kept a strong; grip.

Haru; What are you-talking- about?!!! Mizuchi repeatedly hits Haru's back against the Academy wall.

Mizuchi slowly begins to lose consciousness but didn't give up as she slowly walks between the wall and the academy.

Mizuchi; He was crying by your- Mizuchi gasping and coughing. Clubroom door. Haru's eyes widen.

-Flashback-

Kabier; I love you, Haru, but- Kabier growls, clutching his head with a swarm of doubt and confusion. He storms away.

Kabier was crying with his back on the door, while Mizuchi notices him and hide behind a wall.

"I-I-I'm sorry, Haru. Forgive me. For-give meeee!! Ah. Ha." He cries harder. Tears rain from his eyes, hitting the cold floor while his cries echoed the stairway and halls.

-Flashback ended-

Mizuchi jumps off her feet as Haru's back was incoming to the ground like a guided missile. Time seems to slow down.

Haru; <thought> I think Mizuchi is right. I should apologize to him. Kabier was only confused...just like me, but I push him away. I think I deserve this beating. Haru closes her eyes to accept her faith.

Time resume and, Haru was crushed between the ground and Mizuchi as her air was knocked from her lungs. Haru lets go, and Mizuchi gets up slowly as she stumbles a bit. And pulled Haru by the ears.

Mizuchi; I don't need them. If you come near Kabier, I'm putting you in a box. She spits on Haru as she stumbles out.; rubbing her throat.

After the fight, ten minutes later. Haru walks to her flower booth caring for some flowers as Kabier took a glance and sighs, failing to notice some dirt on her uniform and scratches on her face.

Haru sees Kabier back and tries to walk to him, but Louis blocks her way, enraged. Louis asks Haru who hurt her, but Haru didn't say and convince him that she fell down some stairs.

Louis calms down from the outside but was still furious on the inside. Louis pats Haru with a smirk while Legoshi noticed this and bursts all the paint in his hand and onto Kabier's hair making Kabier cry.
