44 Don't you know that Fire-type has advantage against Bug-type? (Part 2)

Riley looked at the Spirit Beast in front of him in silence.

A brown colored worm-like creature, about 10 centimeters long, with some black spot on its back. Its was wriggled on the ground.

This kind of Spirit Beast was called as a Spottybug...

Spottybugs were mostly green in color, and brown Spottybugs were rarely seen. This kind of cheap and common Spirit Beast was generally not chosen by any Beast Tamers.

However, it had various evolutionary forms, and today there were already five different type of its evolutionary form. Among them, its evolutionary form, Polarilla, was a rare Ice-type Spirit Beast, greatly increasing the value of the Spottybug.

But all of this value was based on its evolutionary form.

Riley had read in books that Spottybugs could only use Spit Silk move and had no other moves.

Wasn't this just sending the money to him?

"You can go first this time," Riley said.

He was afraid that the Fire Dog might end the battle with just a single Spark move.

Catherine naturally understood what Riley was thinking. Every time she took out her Spottybug, the other party would always let her Spottybug to attack first.

This was giving her the feeling of being underestimated, yet this kind of contempt would often worked to her advantage in battles.

An ordinary Spottybug could evolve in 3-5 months, but she had deliberately delayed the evolution of her Spottybug for nearly a year just to build a solid foundation for a perfect evolution.

With this solid foundation, her Spottybug was no longer comparable to an ordinary one.

She had achieved a good result in the freshman Spirit Beast Battle, ranking 39th, thanks to the exceptional toughnes of the silk that his Spottybug produce when its used Spit Silk move.

"Spottybug! Show him your strength!" Catherine raised her hand, shouting loudly.

"Spottybug!"

The Spottybug opened its mouth and emitted a call. A bright white silk thread rushed toward the Fire Dog.

The speed was astonishing, and before the Fire Dog could even react, it was already bound by the silk thread.

The Fire Dog struggled to break free but it couldn't.

Riley furrowed his brow, realizing that he needed to train more on the Fire Dog's speed training.

"Give it the finishing blow!" Catherine continued to shout.

The Spottybug's body emitted a faint white light, and its 10-centimeter-long body soared through the air.

Its speed was significantly faster than the Fire Dog's previous Charge move.

Riley gauged the distance and, after 3 seconds, issued the command, "Fire Fang."

A magnificent flame instantly destroyed the white silk thread, accurately clamping down on the oncoming Spottybug.

"Spottybug!" The Spottybug let out a shrill cry.

Two seconds later, its eyes turned white, and it fainted.

"Riley wins," Joanna announced.

"Spottybug!" Catherine rushed over and held the fallen Spottybug.

After confirming that the Spottybug had onlybfainted, she then stored it back in the Beast Tamer Codex.

"Why?" Catherine looked up at Riley with red eyes and asked in disbelief.

"What?" Riley asked.

Hr didn't understand why she was so upset. Wasn't it normal for the Fire Dog to win against the Spottybug? Why was her reaction so big?

"Why did you could easily break the Spottybug's silk thread?" Catherine stared at Riley, unwilling to accept the result.

His Spottybug's silk thread was incredibly resilient, and once it bound someone, they would had a tough time to breaking free, even if they were stronger. It usually took a considerable effort.

It was nothing like the playful situation they just had experienced.

"Uh," Riley thought for a moment, "Don't you know that Fire-type has advantage against Bug-type?"

Catherine: "..."

"Don't tell me you haven't battled a Fire-type Spirit Beast before?" Riley realized he might have just revealed something.

Catherine: "...!!"
