I woke up and stared at the sky. It was a clear blue with fluffy white clouds lazily floating on by. I was Dead. I died. the explosion killed me, I was sure of it.

"Oh good, you're awake." A lovely woman woman was standing over me. I wasn't in America any longer. Her eyes were different colors, one blue and one lavender. Her hair was the same color as her eyes. "I thought you're soul had moved on. Anyways, Welcome lost soul, to my world. Amaranthia. I am the Goddess, Aria."

I sat up and scanned my surroundings. I was in the middle of a field, trees edged around it.

"I was reincarnated?"

"Yes, lost souls gain the opportunity for reincarnation when they are killed in the act of saving."

"The kids."

"Lucian MacManus, the Assassin known as Red. I ask you to use your skills to save my world."

"What's in it for me?"

"Everything. I will make it so you can master any skills you wish, any element you wish, and use any weapons you wish. I will remain at your side as a guide, if you wish."

"Okay, what do my stats say?"

Aria raised her hand and a glowing plate appeared before me. I took it and began to read.

"I choose the Hunter's class."

"Confirmed, equipment updated to reflect the class chosen."

Skills/ Eagle eye, locate any and all threats within a mile of the user.

Hunter's Calm, increased accuracy for 5 seconds.

Light step, go unnoticed by anyone with a Level lower than that over the user.

I stood up and stretched. My armor was Dragon bone with a silver and black cloak. The weight of it settled on me like and old friend. I flexed my muscles. The Bow was a recurve made of bone and obsidion. The quiver of bone arrows hung low on my supply belt. The Hunter's class gave me not much in the way of strength, but it did give me the perception and skills to know where my enemies. "Before you go, I have a gift for you." Aria waved her hand and a medium sized egg appeared in her hand. "It is unknown what this egg will become, but I can tell you that whatever you hatch, will be a strong partner." Aria rose up into the sky. "Hunter MacManus, I wish you luck." With that parting phrase, she faded away like the lazy clouds above. I placed the egg in my pouch on my belt and scanned the surrounding trees for any threat.

I rolled my stiff shoulder and took a runner's stance and launched myself in the direction of the woods west of me. I skidded to a halt and hopped up into the trees. The commotion of the group of men, laughing and nudging the beast they had slain. I watched the men circling the corpse of an Ice Dragon. They seemed to be searching the body for something. An angry shout of frustration drew my attention to them. Whatever they searched for had to be important for them to be this mad over it. A sniffling sound a branch up, drew my attention.
