76 Fox and the Giants

The crowd quickly dissipated and the stage was torn apart. Ben and his generals left and met up at the City Lord mansion.

"I called you here today for a few things. First up is we need to increase to level of our civilians. Due to the invasion and us being off fighting for other cities, the average level of our citizens has been stagnant. We need to improve this so each division will take a group a civilians out and level them up."

This was met without opposition as the generals all nodded their heads in agreement.

"Second thing is that we need to expand our search teams. We are lacking resources and need new mines and stone for the dwarves and our builders. We need to send search teams farther from the city which is dangerous. I want to ensure the safety of our troops so send the best James." Ben said towards James.

James nodded and said, "I will join them as well."

"Good. Next I would like to thank Lance and his division for ensuring the safety of the city. It could have turned worse if not for your guards so please tell your soldiers I thank them."

"It is my job City Lord." Lance said simply, bowing his head slightly.

"Does anyone have anything they want to discuss?"

"I do City Lord. I believe us generals and our troops need better equipment." Shenelle said.

Lance nodded, remembering his shield and armour being destroyed by the zombie king.

"I agree. The city's treasury was getting to full anyway. Take what you need and better equip yourselves and your soldiers." Ben said immediately.

Money meant very little to him as surviving and becoming stronger was his main objective. He opened the treasury for his generals and let them take what they need.

[Camelot City is requesting to teleport over. Except the request?]

'Camelot? You can name your city?'

Ben accepted the request. "Deke, James. Someone is waiting at the teleportation ring. Please bring them here."

The generals were surprised but James and Deke quickly nodded and disappeared.

"Who is coming here?" Shenelle asked curiously.

"Camelot City. Probably a European country by the name." Ben said grabbing a seat.

The generals followed suit and waited for the guests. Soon Deke and James entered followed by two tall warrior's with swords at their waists.

"We are here to speak to the leader of this city." one of them said, scanning the crowd.

The generals looked at Bennett who slowly stood up and waved at them. "Hi, I'm Ben. What can I do for you?"

"We are here on King James order to invite you to a meeting of the last standing city's leaders." he spoke standing straight as an arrow.

"King James? Interesting that he should claim himself king." Ben let out a chuckle.

Their expressions hardened and glared at Ben. "He is of the royal clan of Britain. The one who led us to victory over the zombies with his strength so be careful with your words." he said with a threatening look.

Colton stood up and cracked his knuckles, a tiny bit of flames appeared on his hands.

"It's fine Colton. I apologize, I forgot that Britain had a royal family actually. Are all the city leaders attending?" Ben said, waving off the threatening look.

"Seven of the ten remaining cities have agreed to attend." the man said, giving Colton a mocking gaze.

"Well I am interested in strong people, I am in."

"Good. The meeting is in two days and you are allowed three guards. We look forward to your presence."

The two of them gave Ben a final glance before turning and walking out the door.

"Tch, you should have let me kick their asses." Colton said glaring at the empty doorway.

"Maybe in the future but for now we need to meet the leaders of the world. So… who wants to come with me?" Ben asked.

The generals looked at each other before all talking at the same time.

"I am going!"

"Like hell! I am the strongest general!"

"You? You almost died with zombie king."

"Okay okay! Enough!" Ben yelled, rubbing his temples. "Deke you are going, so is Cloey. The final spot is up to you to decide. Come to a decision in two days."

The generals glared at each other while Bennett left the room.

Deke followed Ben and said, "City Lord, are you sure you should go? It could be a trap and bringing only three guards isn't enough."

"Three guards? Come on Deke." Ben smiled slyly at Deke. His tattoo's started to move and a low growl came from Takon.

Deke looked surprised before a smile flitted across his face. "Of course, you are never alone. I forgot but that makes me more confident about this meeting."

Bennett nodded and told Takon to shut up.

"I will make the preparations." Deke said, disappearing.

Bennett went and talked to his parents and Cloey, telling them about the meeting and asked if Cloey would join him.

"Of course." she beamed, "Aren't you afraid of bringing a Snow Elf to a human meeting?"

"They will have to deal with it." Bennett shrugged, not really caring.

Cloey smiled at Ben's nonchalant expression but still was concerned. Humans were narrow minded and were not like Ben who accepted all races.

"It will be fine." he said grabbing her hand and gave it a kiss. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her on the lips.

She seemed to melt at the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer.

"Ahem!"

They quickly separated and saw a soldier standing their with an embarrassed expression.

"City Lord, there is a problem at the south gate that requires your attention." the soldier said before dismissing himself.

"Looks like I will have to go." Ben said, giving her a kiss on the forehead and headed towards the south gate.

He quickly arrived at the south gate and saw many soldiers standing on the wall looking scared. Art frowned and walked up to Lance, "What is going on Lance?"

"Look for yourself City Lord." Lance said gesturing at the wall.

Ben did as he said and looked over the wall. What he saw shocked him.

Ben saw around 50 people standing outside the city wall but what surprised him was that these people were 5 meters tall and had grey skin and built muscles.

'Giants?'

"Are you the City Lord?" a soft femine voice rang out.

Ben was surprised and jumped down from the wall, landing in front of the giants.

"I am Bennett, City Lord."

"Are you the one that bonds with beasts and make them stronger?" the same voice rang out.

Ben frowned as he realised that it wasn't any of the giants talking.

"May I see who I am talking to?"

The giants scowled and took a defensive stance, clearly protecting the owner of the voice.

"Clear the way." the voice said.

The giants listened and cleared a path where the largest giant holding a tree trunk for a club made his way to the front. On his shoulder was a tiny white fox that had 2 tails. She jumped down and looked at Ben with intelligent eyes.

"My name is Fei. I came here with the giant clan in hopes of an alliance." she said, watching Ben carefully.

"City 01 always in looking for allies. What are your conditions?" Ben tried to hide his excitement as he looked at the powerful giants.

"First I wish to see if the rumors are true. Can you strengthen beasts?" she asked eyeing him up.

"Yes my class allows me bond with beasts, increasing the strength of myself and them." Ben said.

"Good. I wish to bond with you." she said determined.

Ben was about to refuse her when Ava spoke in his mind.

'Master she had a strong bloodline. It should be that of the nine tailed fox.'

'Nine tail fox? Like from Naruto?'

'I don't know what Naruto is but Nine Tailed Fox is a powerful beast that is a divine beast. Master of illusions and can control a different element with each tail.'

Ben nodded and released Ava from his soul realm. The Black Phoenix appeared and stared down at Fei.

"A phoenix?" Fei said shocked. Her gaze became even more determined.

Ben could tell that Ava and Fei were communicating and let them talk while he inspected the giants.

"She is your leader?" he asked the largest giant.

"I am leader. She help us. Say this city protect us." he said in poor english.

"I understand."

'Master you should bond with her. She can help us.'

Ben looked at Fei one more time.
