9 Fell's Church

A year later

Fells Church is the town for supernatural. But to enter the town you need to have a special pass. That pass is a sanction from the mortal guardian that inhabits that town, Elena Gilbert along with her vampire mate, Demos. She also has a witch for a sidekick and a werewolf as security. She is the most powerful mortal guardian in all Earth because her blood is immortal poison. One drop of her blood can kill any immortal except for her mate, Demos. The humans in Fell's Church are oblivious to this dark side of their youngest Mayor-elect. They know her as the popular girl, the girl who lost her parents at an early age and was raised by her aunt, the girl who was always there to help others. No one noticed the change in her from a helpful saint to a power hungry monster. The only person who noticed the change was the teacher of Natural History at the University of Dalcrest who is known to have some history with her. What that history is, no one remembers.

It was an October day when the population of Fell's Church had a new addition. He was rumoured to arrive a week later. He was the Latin teacher in the local school who was coming all the way across from Tuscany, Italy. His name was Daniel Selvatico and no one knew what he looked like. When he crossed the threshold of the town Serena, the guardian's witch, felt a strong power surge in the shield around the town. The shield was to prevent anything with power from entering or leaving Fell's Church without their knowledge. Serena wasn't a very powerful witch but she knew that something or someone was coming to town that would put their joint front to shame. However, when they went to size up the recent addition to the population they were disappointed to find only a strawberry blonde, blue-eyed, six foot tall, Roman God standing before them. But apart from the looks, the aura around him was human. He was a mere mortal and not a threat to the order of the town.

"Buongiorno le belle donne. Let me introduce myself. I am Daniel Selvatico, but you could call me Dannie." he said with a smirk on his lips. The smirk reminded the witch of someone she had seen before but she couldn't recall it for sure. Behind her, the werewolf paled as if he had seen a ghost. Elena stood defiantly before him.

"Welcome Dannie, as the Mayor of this town I hope your presence in the city school will provide with great knowledge to the local students and I hope you enjoy your stay here. If you need anything make sure to inform me or my friends. Serena here is the superintendent at the local hospital. Zander is the sheriff. If you ever need medical or judicial assistance you can reach them. My boyfriend Demos is the Chairman of the Trustee Board that funds the school along with the hospital and a horde of other institutions in Fell's Church. So I hope I will be able to help you with anything and everything." she announced.

"It sounds like you own the town, Ms Gilbert. I will be fine. I am staying at Mrs Flowers lodge at the end of the town. It was earlier occupied by a family friend of mine who recommended the place to me. I do hope you know the place." Dannie announced.

"Should I be knowing this family friend of yours. Was his stay long enough for us to get acquainted?" she asked.

"No, he left before you came here," Dannie announced.

"I was born here." Elena declared.

"He left before you came into being, Ms Gilbert" he announced.

"Then it must be a long time. I hope you find the lodge fits the description that you received. Otherwise, you are always invited anywhere inside my home." Elena stated.

"Anywhere inside your home, Ms Gilbert? That is an interesting invitation," He stated with a darkening of his deep blue eyes.

"You have a very interesting colour of your eyes," she remarked.

"I got it from my father. He is a very alluring man," he smirked.

"Anyways the invitation is open for you," Elena reminded him.

"And I will always remember the invitation, Ms Gilbert. I am honoured by it." he nodded in a dismissive way. Elena frowned at the gesture. No one had been able to dismiss her before. She chalked it up to the fact that he was not supernatural and was not lured towards her charms. Dannie turned to leave but halted in his steps.

"One more thing Ms Gilbert. I have a family member currently residing in Dalcrest and I may wish to visit him on weekends," he said casually. Then he looked to Serena but continued speaking to Elena. " I know that you like to keep a tab on everyone who steps foot inside and outside your town. So I just wanted you to make a provision for me to visit my family on weekends without alerting your security." The last part he said nodding towards Zander. A shiver ran down her spine at his perceptiveness.

"What are you?" Elena whispered to herself.

"I am Daniel."
