6 Chapter 6

Ren landed back into his lair, the now emptied silver mine, large claw marks filled the walls, showing his past digging. He went to an area off to the side that held quite a few chunks of silver, each cut to about the size of a quarter. He modified his robes a bit, making a large loose pocket on the inside, for which he put the handful of silver chunks.

He then looked around this cave, a little melancholic, this place has been his home for almost a year. He resolutely turned around, making his way towards a dirt road he had discovered months ago, although he has never seen anyone travel it.

He decided to follow it, and if he hit a dead end, to go the other way. After he found the wide dirt road, that had some shallow road marks from what looked like wagons, he smiled lightly, he will finally go back to civilization.

Two men sat in the trees, they had long brown hair and light yellow skin, their ears ended in pointed tips. On their backs were two wooden longbows, with a quiver running horizontally across their backs. One of the men spoke to the other, "Minonir, any idea why we have to capture a runaway human prince? How could the humans not catch him?"

The other man spoke, "I am not sure Anorion, according to the report, he has not even started walking the path of transcendence. So he is nothing more than an ordinary human." He shook his head, "As for why we have to stop him, this prince has 1/4 wood elf blood, and apparently Elder Orciath is his grandfather."

The elf Anorion's eyes lit up, "Ahhh, wasn't the order to catch this prince issued by Elder Orciath?" Minonir nodded lightly. They then started chatting about other things. After a few hours, right before they were about to switch shifts with others, they heard a whistling sound, it was quite upbeat.

They hurriedly stood up, each one jumping on either side of the road. Minonir took out a scroll and ripped it quickly, a transparent connection appeared between his and Anorion's minds. Anorion quickly sent a thought to Minonir, "Is this the prince? Didn't the report say he had an entourage?"

Minonir sent a thought back, "Should be, the report said that the prince liked to dye his hair, to my knowledge gray is only present among old humans." His expression though was unsure. He continued, "Let's just catch him first, we will know after we bring him back, shoot the sleep arrows."

With the command sent, they both pulled out a long black arrow with purple inscriptions, took aim and fired.

Ren walked on the road, constantly reading the books in the library trying to understand them, to no avail. One thing he did note, is that when reading, each page was firmly printed in his mind, yet it was useless since he did not understand.

The second he could he wanted to find all language translation books. It was like the frustration of having millions of gold coins in front of him, but it was all glued to the floor. As he was stuck in contemplation, he saw two projectiles flying towards him, he quickly dodged back.

With his current physique, it is easy to dodge arrows, they move so slowly to him. As he watches the arrows slam into the ground, he is about to prepare for his first ever real fight, and it looks like it will be bandits, Ren gets a little nervous and excited at the same time.

Yet, before he can continue, a purple light bursts out of the arrows, Ren sneered, Dragon Body has magic resistance properties after upgrading to level 4. As the light washed over him though, he froze, then started mentally cursing. Although spell resistance for dragons cover most elements, some special forces are ignored.

Some spells, like curses, easily bypass most resistance… and the arrows in front of him, he guessed they had something like a curse of sleep. Sleep spells are super effective against dragons. Ren bit hard down on his tongue, trying not to fall asleep, his legs were already too wobbly to stand.

He fell to the ground, the world blurring around him, He contemplated turning into a dragon to escape, but he figured it would be more likely he would immediately crash upon trying to fly. He then heard footsteps, and saw two approaching figures. He then heard one of them speak in a language he was unfamiliar with.

"Hey, Minonir, this prince has some strong willpower, not immediately passing out." Minonir shook his head, then spoke in the common language, "Lord Prince Xavier, we were ordered by your grandfather to take you back."

All they heard in response was a weird sound "F***!" before the 'prince' slumped to the ground.

An old man stood in front of the two elven men, his eyes seemed to hold years of time, and there were faint wrinkles around his eyes. He looked sternly at the two idiots in front of him and spoke, "This is not my grandson." These words made the two men freeze.

The old man continued to speak, "Even it was my grandson, the words I told you were 'Escort Him' not 'Kidnap him'" he took a deep breath before waving his hand and a book appeared before him, it was titled 'Elven Dictionary: Wood Elf Edition' before throwing it at them,

"I want you to write down the definition of escort 1000 times, that is your punishment, now go while I deal with this human." The old man, Elder Orciath, turned and looked at the handsome human in front of him with a headache. Cursing the two fools, he waved his hand to cast a spell to wake him up.

A gentle blue light fell onto Ren, who immediately stood up and shouted in the common language, "I am not a damn prince!" Before immediately searching around, what he saw in front of him was an old man with slightly graying hair, he was holding his face as if he was suffering a migraine.

The old man held his forehead in annoyance, before immediately asking, "Who are you?"
