Battle Of The End

"Hah!..Hah! hah~ you bastard..."

A rough yet handsome man with dark brown hair sliced at the large demonic being. His slashes ripped through the air with great precision and speed.

"RAHHH! DIE YOU DEMON!"

The man continued on with his fight even with one arm gone and his body rippled with slash marks. With every move, blood gushed from his body but he pushed forward very determined to win.

The demon lord, a demonic being with the power to destroy the world. They say he reincarnates every 100 years but the Virenth kingdom found a seal just for him. The seal has the power to lock up anything for an infinite amount of time, but it takes multiple mages with a powerful core to use it just once.

All around the man were bodies piled on top of bodies. Blood smeared on the ground with swords all over. It was clear what was happening, a huge war. The biggest war the world had ever seen. 

All 4 of the great continents Pudora, Trehane, Ashone, and Esus all came together to finally put an end to the demon lord but even with so many people they were still losing.

Only about 500 people stood tall, but around 50 people were helping the man fight against the Demon Lord. 

"You humans never know when to give up, always a pain...no matter the era." 

The huge beast with long dark horns and fierce red eyes looks down on the humans below him. He had a muscular humanoid body with long dark wings that were about 250cm long. His dark look put fear in people's hearts.

"W-We can't beat him..."

"Let's just give up..I can't keep going!"

People were giving up as the seconds passed.

"If you wanna leave, then leave!  we don't need fakes around!" 

Cedric dashed at the demon lord, unsheathing his sword he slashed at him. The air twisted with just one slash before disappearing into thin air. 

The demon lord laughed hysterically, "HAHAHAHA! Was that your final attempt to hit me? try again in your next life..."

The demon lord put out his hand to grab Cedric but the slash that he sent earlier suddenly reappeared before him through a distorted space and sliced open the demon lord's chest.

Everybody looked up at the demon lord and Cedric in surprise, that was one of the first slashes that hit him since the war started. They all smiled with hope.

"HE DID IT! HE GOT EM!"

"WAY TO GO CEDRIC!"

'Damnit..that used all of my mana...<<SLASH DISTORT>> is one of my strongest..but it uses up all I got..shit...I don't know if I can do something like that again.'

blood rushed from the deep wound on the demon lord's chest, but he just smirked. His finger starts to glow and he runs it along the wound, it closes up slowly as if he's welding it shut.

"W-What? he could heal the entire time? if that's the case...can we even win?"

Cedric's determination was decreasing, he only had one arm which was healed temporarily with magic, and all of the slashes on his body that were still bleeding were slowing him down.

'My vision is getting blurry...damn!...If only...I wasn't so weak.'

Cedric falls to his knees, his sword drops from his hand. Being added to the collection of the other swords that lay on the ground.

Everyone is in disbelief, everyone all around the battlefield looks to see Cedric on his knees in front of the demon king.

"C-Cedric is..."

A beautiful woman, around Cedric's age, is in shock. She was busy slaying the fiends, the minions of the demon lord. She was his lover, she had been with him through thick and thin. She was saddened to see him on his knees about to die. She also notices his missing arm and is on the verge of crying. 

"N-No....CEDRICCC!"

She runs toward him as fast as she can, the demon lord smiles and swipes his hand at her. His claws cut her in three. 

Cedric opens his eyes to see the sad sight. 

"Lydia...n- you...YOU BASTARD!!!"

Cedric tried to stand, his knees wobbling as he rose. He grabbed his sword with only the arm he had remaining. He charged his final and strongest attack

"HEAVENS RIFT!"

Air distorts and slices the space in half which turns into a deep void. His slash is released from his sword and goes through the void. The void which was moving faster than the eye appears behind the demon lord, he quickly turns to see the air ripping open and a slash coming out. It was precise and fast yet could slice entire islands in half.

The demon lord moved his body quickly and dodged it with only a minor injury to the side of his neck.

"Wow...I commend you human. In all of these years I've lived..you are the only one to have wounded me twice. I will be sure to remember you.."

Falling on his back, Cedric frowns. He knows he lived his life with nothing but regret, if he could go back..he would be sure to change everything. 

The demon lord uses his large claws to cut Cedric to pieces with ease. Cedric's eyes close and he sees nothing but darkness.

Until he heard a voice, "It's a boy ma'am..!"

He tried to open his eyes but it was very hard, he only saw a blur of what seemed to be people. Very big people, he was freaked out and confused.

'What's going on?.. I was just fighting against the demon lord so why am I?....'

He looks around to find himself in what seems to be a barn, haybales stacked on one another, and whoever the person holding him is lying on top of one.

"He's so beautiful...hello little Cedric."

He gets a closer look at the lady's face that was currently holding him, 'M-Mother?.....'

An enchanting woman with light brown hair and blue-azure eyes looks down at baby Cedric, she uses her thumb to rub his face softly with a warm and affectionate smile.

His tears started to well up and streak down his face, It had been so long since he saw her. She was killed when he was just 13 when some young royals picked on her and accused her of doing something she hadn't done just because she was a commoner.

'But If I'm here...and in her arms..then? A-Am I back in time..?'

Cedric smiled, now that this had happened he could do it. He could save the people he loved and defeat the demon lord. He was determined to win, he knew he had to be the one to do it.

But after crying his body felt so tired he tried to stay awake but to no avail. After he woke back up he found himself in a cradle of a dimly lit room.

He looked to find no one around, he smirked a bit and knew it was his chance. He had to start gathering mana, it was now or never. Before he regressed his mana was fairly low because he spent all of his years on sword training. But he wasn't going to make the same mistake, he was gonna train his mana from day 1.

Cedric closed his eyes and breathed slowly, he relaxed his body and continued to breathe. Soon after, his body was starting to feel warm yet cold at the same time. It was the mana entering his body. He continued on with his mana gathering but soon had to stop because someone walked into the room.

'Damn...I guess I'll just have to continue later.'
