Chapter 1: Regular Day

Yuki Kinatarou slowly got up from his bed, he glanced around his surroundings slowly. Even though this was his bedroom he looked at it like he had never seen it before.

'Another day has begun, well time to start my day.'

Yuki said in his mind as he jumped up from his bed.

Yuki Kinatarou was still a teenager, but he lived in a small apartment, which he just moved into two days ago. He was still the one who provided for himself. He didn't live alone because he was banished or something, he was actually an orphan. Yuki also had siblings but he wanted to live on his own to get stronger.

In this world where more than a quarter of all the population on earth had powers. He strived to become the most powerful being on the planet.

100 years ago seven asteroids landed on earth; one on each continent. Two years after they landed, people started noticing changes in themselves, these asteroids had mutated a person's organs giving them special abilities. Five years after the astroids landed scientists had given these powers a name called kizo. Yuki's kizo was ice. It was completely normal for a child to be born with powers for the past 90 years.

This meant he could control ice.

Yuki also stayed alone because he didn't want to inconvenience his siblings.

He stood infront of his mirror and looked at his handsome face. His looks were incredible, making him look like a movie star. He had black hair and a pair of dark blue eyes.

Yuki had prepared for school and walked out his front door, he locked his door and noticed his next door neighbor walking out of her apartment.

She wore a sailor style uniform, her skirt had risen highly above her knees and her brown hair was packed into a ponytail, two long locks of hair had fallen to the side of her face. She was an amazing sight, her beauty was incomparable.

Her beautiful light brown eyes glanced at Yuki before walking away.

Yuki also glanced back at her through the corner of his eye.

This was how it was every morning, although they knew each other's names but they never spoke to each other.

Yuki Kinatarou arrived at school and was greeted by his two friends.

"Good morning, Yuki-san." A beautiful girl greeted him warmly.

This girl's name was Tamiko Akira.She had deep blue eyes, black hair which she braided into pigtails and a beautiful face. Tamiko's kizo was also ice.

"Good morning Miko, what's up Derek?" Yuki greeted Tamiko and Derek.

Yuki usually called her Miko, Tamiko didn't complain about it, she thought it was cute.

Derek Itsuki was one of Yuki's good friend. He had brown hair and bright orange eyes making him look handsome. Derek's kizo was plasma.

Those who saw the three of them chatting were completely hypnotized by the scene, although it was a normal sight they saw for the past two days, it still looked like an amazing scene. They were just too good looking.

"Derek, could we have a duel during the lunch break?" Yuki asked with bright stars in his eyes.

"Never." Derek answered with a calm but cold tone.

"You never want to fight me, you're just afraid!" Yuki forcefully said.

"You're just to weak for me." Derek said in his once again calm but cold tone.

"Whaaaat!!!" Yuki shouted.

Tamiko watched the two of them in silence.

'Just another regular day.' Tamiko inwardly sighed.

Yuki had newly had started going to this school just a two days ago, although he just met Tamiko he had known Derek since he was three.

The bell rung for the classes to begin.

Tamiko, Derek and Yuki all sat side by side in the same line.

Yuki was completely bored by the teacher who was still talking.

Yuki's thoughts traveled to his strength, Yuki eagerly wanted to become stronger. Yuki had been insulted his entire life because of his weakness. He was actually the weakest person who had a kizo in the school. Yuki was incredibly weak because of a heart disease he had, he had this cureless heart disease since birth. This heart disease made Yuki to lack ki. The kizo of a person ran solely on ki.

Ki is the circulating life energy that is inherited by all living things. In this time nobody cultivated their ki like someone from a novel or a manga.

Boom!!!

A loud explosive sound jerked Yuki out of his thoughts.

The entire class ran to the window so did Yuki. His eyes widened when he saw his classmate Shinzo Hisashi fighting with another student on the grass.

Sweat was running down Shinzo's face, his black hair was plastered to his forehead.

The student who stood opposite him was also Yuki's classmate, he had a calm expression on his face, the tree behind him was on fire. This boy's name was Hiroto Hiroshima

Yuki knew what was happening was a battle using their kizo. Shinzo's kizo was fire, Yuki didn't know what the other boy's kizo was.

Shinzo Hisashi's hand instantly caught fire. He instantly rushed towards his opponent and attempted to punch him.

Hiroto dodged this fiery punch and hit Shinzo in the stomach using his knee.

Shinzo vomited an entire mouthful of blood and was sent flying 12 meters away.

"Aren't you going to stop them?" Yuki glanced at the teacher.

"Shinzo Hisashi accepted this duel, we can't stop them." The teacher said as he adjusted his glasses.

Yuki Kinatarou understood the situation and watched them continue fighting.

In Emperial college these were the rules. If two students agree to duel each other at a particular time and place the school wouldn't interfere, this was to train students to be confident. The duel could only be stopped by a member of the school board, if one of the fighters gave up or wasn't able to continue fighting.

The entire class watched this fight in silence. Hiroto Hiroshima was a very popular student among both boys and girls, he was among the top 10 strongest students in the school. He was incredibly rude and arrogant.

"I give up."

Yuki was dragged out of his thoughts by this sentence. He looked at Shinzo who was now kneeling on the ground.

The lips of Hiroto curved upwards revealing an arrogant smile.

"Huh, we are still having fun. I thought you were strong Shinzo." Hiroto Hiroshima kicked Shinzo to the ground.

"You are too weak."

"I should just crush you."

"You stupid dog."

Hiroto repeatedly stepped of Shinzo while insulting him. A sadistic smile was plastered to his face.

Yuki gritted his teeth, he couldn't hold his anger while seeing someone get beaten up and insulted.

"Aren't you going to do something?"

Yuki forcefully complained to the teacher.

Although the teacher heard what Yuki said he didn't react in the slightest way.

That moment Yuki ran out of the class into the school compound. Hiroto was still stepping on Shinzo while raining insults on him

"Yameru!!!" Yuki shouted at Hiroto with a ferocious expression on his face.

(Please Note: Yameru is the Japanese word for stop).

"Look, someone even weaker than you has come to save you."

Hiroto's sadistic smile remained on his face.

"You are the weakest kizo user in the school, but yet you came to save him. Hmmm I guess insects should always help each other." Hiroto insulted Yuki with a large amount of arrogance in his tone.

"Hiroto Hiroshima, I Yuki Kinatarou challenge you to a duel."

Yuki thought this was the only way to get him to stop beating up Shinzo. And besides Yuki wanted to beat this guy up really bad.

"I accept your duel, looks like I'll have to teach a you lesson." Due to Hiroto's arrogance he happily accepted his challenge.

Hiroto Hiroshima was the type of person who always stuck to his pride.

"Tomorrow, during the lunch break at the kizo mat." Hiroto quickly set a date and place for the duel.

The kizo mat was kinda like a gym for kizo users.

"Hmmmmmmm" Hiroto silently nodded and walked right past Yuki.

"I'll break you." He said slowly as he walked past Yuki.

Yuki Kinatarou didn't bother thinking about these words instead he walked towards Shinzo and took him to the school nurse.

Later that day at the cafeteria. Yuki and his two friends sat at a table in silence.

"Yuki are you sure you want to duel Hiroto."

Tamiko's tone was filled with curiosity but there was also a hint of concern.

"Nope, I had to say I was going to duel him just to get him to stop beating Shinzo." Yuki smiled and scratched the back of his head.

"Could you be more stupid. You challenged Hiroto the top 10 strongest person in our school to a fight without thinking."

Derek and Tamiko shouted in unison.

"It's not a big deal, I'll just lose and the wounds will heal in a day or two." Yuki didn't want to think too much about it.

"So your plan is to lose?"

"Yep, there's no way I can beat him, I'm the weakest person in our school." Yuki said with a bright smile.

"Why are you smiling?"

Derek's voice was cold.

"Nothing. It's just that both of you would look good together." His smile remained the same.

Tamiko's and Derek's faces instantly became bright red.

"Awww, you're even blushing." Yuki continued to tease his friends.
