Star-Orb Gaming Incorporated, one of the newer companies in Ontario Canada, and the biggest gaming company in the world, as well as the third largest business in the world! No one knows precisely how they became such a giant in the business world, but non can deny that it was through mainly the boom that followed there one and only game, Battle Master Online.

Up until 4 years before, Star-Orb Gaming, was like most regular game creator companies, having a lot of varying games for everyone, with a few games that were high up in the popularity rankings, thus making the company's name and and its credibility known.

However, things took a drastic turn when in the year 2XXX, three years into their roll, a new way of game play was introduced.... Slumber-Induced Neuro-Physical Virtual Reality, or SINPH VR. With this new technology, players could safely enter their mind and conscience via a neuro-physical copy created from their brains' impulse signals. These impulse signal copies are - in a sense - the brain itself, thus they have a weak, yet surprisingly effective link back to the actual brain, which makes some movements made by the copy be reflected by the body in real life, but those are just about the only side-effects. Things like brain damage were practically negligible in initial beta tests, so it was ready to use almost instantly upon completion!

Thanks to an unforeseen spike in violent tendencies in people due to the Neven Bill (a bill passed by US president of 2XXX - 2XXX Neven Duke, that practically eradicated joblessness, negative family situations and school related problems, therefore resulting in a death drop in the rates of delinquent acts of the whole world within a decade!!!) shutting down any reason for people to express destructive behaviour.

Though it is uncertain, psychiatrists and psychologists have reported that these new random destructive tendencies are a result of the universal suppression of any violent tendencies, causing people to lash out for the most simplest of things like "someone's brother didn't pass him the salt" causing the person to destroy the dining, living, and nearby bedrooms in a fit of unknown rage or "he stepped on my toe" causing a fistfight that dominoed and almost destroyed an entire town. Or even simpler reasons like "Its too quiet" or "It's too boring" escalating in nation wide level situations that would have actually affected the nation, where it not for the bill.

It was in this darkening age when battle royal games that promoted killing people without actually killing them, and survival games that challenged the player to survive in situations that will never happen, as well as various mind numbing games for soothing active minds, started to boom. It was a very every effective and unexpected stop gag, and it was one that couldn't have appeared at a better time for the government.

However, a stop gag is a stop gag, and it wouldn't last forever. Only a few short years past by the time playing the games via hand controls just weren't enough to vent the unexpected build-up that occurred in the minds and bodies of every able-bodied citizen of the planet. Destruction rates started slowly going back up and the respective governments had their bakes to the ropes! They couldn't see a way out of this that didn't result in destruction of either lives or property, and things like making exercise and sports mandatory seemed good at first, but weared down thin much faster that games did, so they were in a tight spot!

It was then that Star-Orb Gaming came swooping in with the SINPH VR. The idea of being immersed in a reality that wasn't your own, or real for that matter, yet felt so real it might as well be, with enough pain censors and conditions activate to keep people actively on their toes, while having many new places to explore and things to do, all of these and more got the government behind their backs within half a heartbeat!

With their first game to use the SINPH VR being Battle Master Online, a game basically built on killing, adventuring, and destruction of all kinds, the SINPH VRs, now known as terminals, changed Star-Orb for the better!

Since then, all of their other games got absorbed into BMO in many different forms as more and more people started to play, and due to the funding from the government, and the mind behind genius behind them, terminals have been getting more and more efficient and affordable at rates that blew even Moore's Law out of the water!!! And thanks to a deal they made with the government, they could keep their technological secrets to themselves, thus other game companies couldn't even imagine to ride the wave that was created, and soon most of the smaller companies ended up merging with Star-Orb to keep afloat!!!

This shot them from their previous place of barely in the thousands in the gaming sector and even lower in the grand scheme, to the absolute top of the gaming world, and to the top three of the world right along side Delver (a shopping site that was 5th place on a nation scale that was contracted to distribute terminals along with a few others before they got large enough to obtain exclusive rights to the selling of terminals, launching them into the top spot practically overnight!) and Udels (a soft drinks and dairy product collaboration production company that saw BMO as a potential advertiser from their earlier years and asked for rights to use their top players' avatars on their merchandise. They got caught up in the wave as the game gained recognition and were nestled safely into the second spot as more and more people started to stock up for sleep induced game play and they switched their focus to fruit flavored fizzy food drinks!!!!).

All businesses within the top 50 range have all made it there due to no small effort from the part of BMO and Star-Orb, and their gross income goes into the trillions within months, with billions coming form just weekly in-app purchases!!! And hundreds upon hundreds of those billions go within the bettering of the infinite landscape that exists within the digital space of BMO!!!

And this empire - no, this world altering power - wouldn't have gotten to where it was in all of the 4 years that followed the Breakthrough (as it is now referred to as in the higher echelons) were it not for one man....
