5 laboratory
The mechanical voice told him to head to the laboratory in section 3 of the sciences department. A long road stretched out beyond the gate. Oliver sighed at the sight of the long road and started walking. He reached the main area of the facility and stopped to study the map.
Then, he found section 3 in the sciences department and made a mental note of its location. He turned around and began making his way towards the largest building in the area. Oliver had received instructions to meet there no later than 6:30 pm.
It was currently 6:09.
The building became closer and closer as Oliver arrived at his destination. The building was tall, with black glossy walls and black out-croppings. The stained glass in dark shades of color gave the building an eerie look. From a distance the building may have been mistaken as a black flame, reaching for the heavens.
Oliver stared at the building in wonder. Anticipation welled up within him. He began the feel giddy and restless.
Unnoticed by Oliver a middle-aged man dressed in a suit with a white lab coat silently closed the manual glass doors in the front of the building. The man saw Oliver staring awestruck at the building and walked over to join him.
"She's a beauty isn't she?" Oliver was shocked by the sudden appearance of the man and flinched."Oh, Yes, sir!" Oliver blurted unconsciously.
"Heh, calm down boy. I'm not going to eat you up." The man winked at him. Oliver felt goosebumps rise on his arms. 'This man's style of speech is unnerving..' Oliver wasn't used to these kinds of open remarks.
The man outstretched his hand to Oliver. "Hello, I'm Professor Meite, It's a pleasure to meet you."
Oliver reluctantly shook Professor Meite's hand. "Um, Yes it's a pleasure to meet you too, my name is Oliver Kali. I'm looking for Mr. William?"
Oliver cut right to the chase. "Hm? Oh yes, I do believe our team has been expecting a new recruit. Why don't you come on in and I'll introduce you to everyone?" Oliver nodded and was led through the front doors of the building.
Security searched him to make sure he didn't have any weapons and passed him a temporary ID. Oliver would have to apply for his permanent ID later. Professor Meite apologized profusely because he had to do a background check on Oliver to make sure he wasn't an imposter.
Once all the necessary precautions were completed, Professor Meite led Oliver into a bare white room. The room had a large table in the middle. A few Men in lab coats sat towards the end of the table. When the door opened and Oliver and Professor Meite walked in, the men ceased their conversation and stared at the new arrivals.
One of the men smiled warmly at Oliver. "Hello, you must be Oliver Kali. we've been expecting your arrival." Professor Meite Left Oliver standing and went to sit next to the smiling man.
Oliver nervously stood there before remembering his script. "Hello, my name is Oliver Kail. I have a degree in physics, electrical engineering, and biological energy absorption.
I will work hard to be useful to the company." Oliver bowed and waited for the men to speak. One of the men shuffled some papers on the desk before turning to look at Oliver. "Oliver, we have gone over your history and think that you would be a model employee.
Because of your achievements in the fields of Frequency Modulation and Ambient sensors. We have applied to grant you permissions on par with a core member of the MHEMC. So, instead of being an intern and only working on the level of normal employees we are granting you permission to be an intern in our team. You will gain much more experience this way and we hope you will join us permanently one day."
