🎵 Another one bites the dust

Another one bites the dust

And another one gone and another one gone

Another one bites the dust

Hey I'm gonna get you too

Another one bites the dust🎵

*Slurp* "Enjoying the sunrise are we?"

Bruce turns to his side, and there he was, the-

"Always gratifying to find out that one's nemesis is altogether lacking in style, even for you Batman."

"Tequila?" The tall British man offered to Bruce.

Bruce stared at the drink for a second then at the man, only to accept his offer of drinking so early in the mor-

"No questions about how fares the world you left back? Honestly, I expected such from you." Bruce does not reply.

"Its like the Bat is enjoying his life of retirement! Finally passing on your boy band to young-"

"What are you doing here, Lucifer?" Bruce interrupted. It was none other than Lucifer Morni-

"Indeed I am." Lucifer confirmed breaking the fourth wall with ease. He turns back at Bruce again. "Well I for one thing am doing what I do best, Enjoying my life." He toast his drink by *clinking* his glass with Bruce's. It was-

"Life- God's greatest gift, it seems father-dearest did not had anything better to offer." Bruce just drank his tequila in peace while listening to Lucifer's monologue. Cutting the author from writing any of the paragra-

"It is not a monologue." He turns and looks at nowhere, getting back at Bruce. "And well you have adjusted perfectly, not even to try going back to your pesky little city- Gotham. Its not like this is the first time you traveled another universe."

Bruce whirled the tequila around like wine, thinking something in his mind. Not giving into the devil's bait.

"My work there is done, Gotham does not need the Dark knight anymore- It did not need me there for the last three years." He took down the alcohol in one gulp. "That World does not need the Batman, and even if it does, It has a contingency in place for that- It has my proteges down there."

"Always so rigid and uptight... I am telling you this is the reason you could not land a woman. I should actually leave that world to be wingman already, but-" Lucifer raises his hand in the air, Bruce just stood there with a deadpan expression.

"I expected at least a chuckle at that, but well the main reason was this." Fire lit up around Bruce, materializing a card, a wedding card to be precise, Lucifer marries Chloe

"You just have to kill yourself to come, the venue is the interdimensional Hell, Hell, I am making an exception to the whole "bring a date thing" for you only."

"Who's officiating?"

"You need an answer to that?" Lucifer raises his brows. "No one actually, my father- is officially retired."

"Need me to do that?" Bruce offered, which came surprising, even to Lucifer, as he accepte-

"No- no, I will have my brother do that for me, he is after all the new God, I however am in the need of a best man, and currently the best candidate for that is the ex of my bride, who has a child with her, so-" Lucifer pats Bruce's back. "You would serve as the best replacement for him." Bruce chuckles at the preposition, but a sad smile crept on him.

"I think I may need just that."

"Its decided then, you are the best- best man in my wedding. Now I still have work to be worked, arrangements to be arranged and well- just water down my Bachelorate party, will you Wayne?"

"I would do so." Lucifer starts to dematerialize from existence, with his limbs glowing reddish every minute until they ultimately catch on fire.

"That nearly all of me here. I need to get checked up for performance issues after this." He turns to Bruce. "That was it, now I should probably erase the surveillance on us before you ask me to do it, or have it done the other way." Lucifer snaps himself out of existence while smirking, returning to the DC multiverse.

Bruce walks to his side, finding a bench to sit and drink the rest of his drink.

In an office, Nick Fury just had the report about the unknow satellite crash in New Mexico. Just then, an agent of clearance level 5 came to him personally about a potential 0-8-4 with ther file of Bruce Wayne.

Nick posted the agent on stand by while he personally divulged into the conversation of Bruce and the man who had been reported to appear out of air.

The man materialized a card out of fire, but the surveillance around Bruce was not tight enough for him to listen to their conversation.

Nick called out his emergency strike team for the potential 0-8-4 immediately and sent another round of back up when he read the man's lips to speak Batman.

Juist then, the man turns to look dead straight into the camera, while smiling and raises his hand to do a gesture, potentially a snap.

Nick jumps away from the screen, unaware of the consequences of the unknown, hastily marking his file 0-8-4 and 9-1-2 when something changes within him.

The sent strike team and him, himself retracted from their positions and the surveillance from Bruce was retracted, although temporarily.

But the codes still remained in their place in Bruce's backup files which were to be left alone and not updated on the S.H.I.E.L.D. mainframe database until they would be needed and the restriction placed by Lucifer was lost, meaning for a long time.

Bruce rolls the coin between his fingers while approaching his Porsche 911.

The gate opens, he puts the card in his hand and the coin to the seat beside.

But he does not enter. His eyes wander outside, to the sun that had risen a fem minutes back, the sea, with small waves forming along the shore. The wind that sides away his hair.

The operation in Monaco was a success, an international terrorist organization dismantled, the most known among the Hand given appropriate sentences and the lesser known ones on his radar.

But another one from his side had to suffer, this time even unwillingly.

There was no answer to that, the overall outcome was a positive one but he could not help but ponder on the situation, the one where people closed to him, whether in his Batman persona or the Bruce Wayne one, always have a bad end.

The Car engines revives. Giving a holy sound to its listeners.

He starts in neutral, then presses and hold the clutch, shifting into the first gear, flooring the gas, and finally dumping the clutch, quickly moving his foot onto the brake pedal to hold the brakes.

🎵 I'm living in that 21st century

Doing something mean to it

Do it better than anybody you ever seen do it

Screams from the haters, got a nice ring to it

I guess every superhero need his theme music🎵

The burnout stops as the car takes its rocket start among the smoke, drifting at turns to drive to nowhere.

[So new author here. I wont be rewriting the chapters before this, cause that would take time and the present audience needs the story going forward and not previous chaps reedited. Why I picked this up?- well the only thing worse than a bad fanfic is a good fanfic not updating. So I might risk ruining the story rather than let it waste its potential. For the content of this chap, remember Batman doesn't cry but Bruce does, I am heavily influenced from the animated film in which Bruce cries for Robin's death. Also please dont see Bruce as a perfect being, even Batman has had his own slip ups, so if he makes mistakes (only mistakes worthy of Batman) don't hate me.

Also comment your suggestions, the fic would be heavily influenced with your comments, like the thor one- the onw where the movie canon was not very good to be followed and I could do something original there] [1353 words]
