8 Trade Negotiation

It hadn't taken long to find the Ancient outpost with my ancient knowledge. I had almost precise coordinates of it's location. The only problem was, it was buried beneath snow and ice. I couldn't just blast a hole through the ice with the spaceship because a blast like that would be noticed. Instead I took out my lightsaber and slowly dug my way down, carving out a diagonal path all the way down to the buried outpost.

Lightsabers could cut through most things like butter, so it didn't take long before I found myself inside the outpost. The ice I had carved away turned into water and then evaporated almost instantly after each stroke. Entering, I was immediately unimpressed. The only technology worth stealing in this small outpost was the Ancient control chair and the drone weapons that SG1 used against the the invasion of earth. They won't need them though, because they will be grabbing onto my strong legs instead.

After going back and forth to the surface with the things I deemed worth saving, I went back down and destroyed everything else with my lightsaber except for the almost depleted zpm that held the shield up around the outpost.

I wanted wall-E to compact the damaged technology for me, but the material was too tough for him to break down. Upon seeing that, I decided to upgrade him later. In his place I used my strength and balled up what I could. I wasn't even close to being as strong my father, but I could ball up some of the items, the rest I just left be.

I completed my task which took only a full day to do, which left me with about a day and a half until I met back up with the Japanese folks at the Gate Universe. I thought id play around a bit more before going back. I left Wall-E in his old universe in my new spaceship and then left for a new random universe via timer after telling him I would be back soon.

Where I was going was always unpredictable and I didn't want him to be destroyed because I went to a dangerous Earth. It seems to have been the right move, because right when I stepped through phaser guns were firing every which way. I immediately noticed I was in the star trek universe, most likely not it's main universe though. Things seemed a bit off from my memory.

As I walked around, ships were firing from the sky and the ground was being blown apart, sending people flying and dead before they hit the ground. The battle wasn't just in the sky, but also on the earth itself. The enemy looked like Klingons.

I found myself killing innocent people as everyone around me Klingons and Earthlings alike both thought I was an enemy and took shots at me with their phasers. I didn't want to stick around in a war I had nothing to do with, but I also didn't want to pass up all the technology that littered the corpses on the ground.

I grabbed whatever could fit in my pockets and huge hands. Everything from tricorders, phasers, universal translators, com badges, and last but not least I had seen a dead blind man with a similar visor to the character Geordi's. It was an advanced technology that allowed people on earth that were blind to be able to see.

After grabbing what I could, I quickly used my timer and went back to Wall-E's planet to put my new items on my new ship. The small trip to another universe had tired me out mentally and I decided to go back to the Gate world a little over a day early.

I went to the place I had originally told them id be at and sat down. No warning shots happened this time when I had arrived. Just like last time, it didn't take long for someone to drive up to me on an ATV. It was Yōji and his translator again.

They approached me and the translator started talking. "Although we have checked on the information you gave us already and have found it to be true, why are you back a day earlier than we agreed upon?"

I stood up and replied. "My business ended earlier than I had expected and I was getting bored, now that you guys have realized I haven't lied, I would like to negotiate a trade with the fine citizens of Japan, if that's okay with you?"

The translator relayed my words to Yōji, who called something in on his radio, and then said something to the translator, who then spoke to me. "We are authorized to trade some things with this world, but we are not authorized to trade any of our weapons currently. I hope you understand".

I laughed "That's okay, I don't want your weapons." I said before handing them a list written in English I had wrote up as I had been sitting. "If you get me the things on that list, I will gift you my knowledge of this world, it's people, and it's dangers".

Yōji took the list and discussed it with the translator. "How do you know so much about Earth?" asked the translator.

I was tired of waiting for the translator to relay my words to Yōji and then back to myself, so I pulled out the universal translator I had kept in my pocket from my recent travels. After messing with it a second and making the Japanese people even more nervous, I finally spoke. "I'll tell you that if you agree to the trade right now."

Yōji was surprised. "You could speak fluent Japanese this whole time?"

I shook my head. "No, I had just forgotten my universal translator before coming here. This makes communication easier between us. Do you agree to the trade?"

Yōji nodded. "Yes, we can make the trade, since you haven't asked for much".

I suddenly put on a serious face for the news I was about to drop on them. "The imperial palace are keeping Japanese citizens as slaves. I was locked up not long ago inside the palace and I heard of Earth from one of them. That's how I know so much." I half lied.

The news immediately made Yōji and everyone that had come with him angry., but they stayed professional. "I can get these items by the end of the day if you don't mind sticking around".

Yōji was clearly upset by my words, but tried to keep his cool and continue negotiations.

"Yōji, I can help you save the Japanese citizens within the castle if you plan to extract them. You don't have to wait just because of me. I have nothing to do as I wait for my items anyway."

"We can do this on our own, thanks anyway" replied Yōji before getting back into the atv and taking off back to the Japanese base.

After watching them leave, I headed back to the forest I had originally arrived inside to ask Benny for directions again.
