9 Freedom

Returning to the fae forest, I found Benny walking alone as he picked mushrooms and put them into his basket. When I was in earshot I called out to him "Benny, I need directions again if you don't mind".

Benny looked slightly annoyed to see and hear me. "I'm not your personal map, what do I get out of this situation?"

"Oh, don't be like that. I thought we were friends? I just want you to point me to the direction of Falmart Empire."

Without looking up, Benny pointed to his left. "If you keep going that way, you will reach what you seek, now stop coming to me for directions".

I squatted down and patted Benny on his small back as lightly as I could. "I'll bring you a gift next time for all your help".

Looking at the direction Benny had pointed to, I said my goodbyes and then I started to run. I could run about 60 mph at my fastest and 20-30 mph if I jogged. To put this in perspective, Usain Bolt an Athlete of earth can run 27.8 mph at his fastest. The biggest difference between me and a normal human was that I didn't get physically tired out.

I hadn't ran for more than 20 minutes before I had reached my destination. The streets in front of me were filled with many different types of shops and all around me there were people. I walked around as I kept my eye out for slaves. After a few minutes, as I was looking around the shops, I saw a carriage roll by with chained dirty people inside it.

Figuring they were slaves, I followed from behind covertly by keeping a distance between us until it stopped in front of a building and started to unload it's passengers.

When the carriage left, I walked up to the door of the building and stepped inside. My eyes were met with numerous cages on each side of the shop, all holding different types of beings. Behind a counter to my left was an older man smoking a pipe and writing in a ledger. Seeing me walk in, he spoke. "What can I do for you?"

"I just want to look around for now if that's okay". I replied.

The man nodded and got back to his writing as I began to look around. I had been using my universal translator since I had walked inside the shop. I went cage to cage asking questions of each. I was looking for magical beings that could teach me their magic and were willing to come with me. Out of all the slaves here, only three were magical and of those three, only one expressed the desire to leave this world completely.

After finding what I had came for, I walked up to the clerk, grabbed his head before he realized what was happening and squeezed. His head fell apart in my palm like hollow chocolate egg with caramel on the inside of it, only it didn't look as delicious.

Moving fast, I broke lock after lock on the cages and was about to move the slaves I had rescued before I heard a voice from the back of the shop. I had been around the Japanese enough to know their accents, so I walked to the back of the shop to find a badly bruised and beaten five year old boy and a girl that looked to be a teenager like myself, only she actually looked like a teenager unlike myself. She had no visible bruises, but I suspected they just hadn't gotten around to her yet.

Making up my mind, I broke the locks on their cages and then gathered everyone around and opened a portal with my timer. Arriving on Wall-E's world I walked everyone a mile away from where we were before opening up another portal and taking them back to their universe. I figured it was better than walking them out of the slave shop and out of the empire in front of everyone.

After breaking off their cuffs and shackles, they all ran in different directions, leaving me with the two Japanese citizens, my new teacher/magician, and for some reason a warrior bunny.

As I walked them back towards the Japanese base to pick up my requested items,, we all talked and got to know each other.

The magician that no longer wanted to live in this world and wanted to go to a new one with me was a 26 year old human woman named Jasmine who was kicked out of the magic academy due to her wild ideas that went against the norm of magic and then got picked up by slavers when her village was pillaged by an enemy army.

Considering the magic of this world was fairly low tier, she could not stand up against the army on her own. They had kept her drugged well enough so that she couldn't use her power when she was inside the slave shop.

The two Japanese people I had picked up were both Orphans and siblings. When the empire had raided Japan, they had killed their parents and took them as slaves. The girl and young boy were both still in their school uniforms .

The girls name was Yuna and the young boys name was Yuto. I had asked Yuna if she wanted to return to Japan or come with me, she said that she needed to think about it on the way to the Japanese base.

Lastly, I found out the warrior bunny was named Joppi. She seemed jumpy and scared of everything around her and followed me around, not wanting to leave my side. It was unlike most warrior bunnies to behave this way, so I figured she had been through a lot and just ignored her.

Finally seeing the Japanese base, I pointed it out to the others and instructed them all to sit down and wait. I saw Yuna's eyes start to water as she saw the approaching Japanese military ATV's.

Yōji hopped out of the ATV and approached me. "Those two are Japanese, where did you find them?"

"They can explain that to you themselves as I grab my items I requested". I replied before walking up to the ATV's as they were being unloaded.
