3 I Have Two Moms

My mind feels like its floating in a pool of water. I can feel the gentle waves of energy around me making my soul sway. This mysterious energy starts to swirl with me being at the center. I couldn't grasp the concept of time while I am in this state. Every moment felt like an eternity, yet an eternity seemed like a passing moment. This experience was not dreadful, in fact it felt comfortable and safe, as if I was being held in a cradle.

The energy accumulated and after exceeding a certain threshold, it solidified in the blink of an eye. There was a similar mass of crystalised energy next to me. It came towards me and I heard a gentle, slow and feminine voice.

[You are ready my child.. Come say hi to the world..]

Like opposite sides of a magnet, I was repelled away from the source of the voice. There was a bloop sound and immediately afterwards, I felt a mysterious connection to a small volume of mass. I slowly opened my eyes and saw two big slimes staring at me. Knowing that I am surrounded by monsters, it was really terrifying.

[Aww isn't he the most adorable thing! Look at how he is melting to the floor. This one is definitely a boy! Teehee!]

I was screaming in my heart after I heard what the voice said but no sounds came out. I have got no idea how to speak in my new form. My body was flattened to the ground like a pancake! Is this a joke? I really became a slime!

[My my.. This jet black glossy shine on his membrane, he's going to grow up to be a heartbreaker.. Hey Gella, what do you think we should name him...?]

[I have never seen a black slime before. He must be a rare variant. Teehee! I wonder how his future evolutions would turn out. Anyway lets call him Kuro!]

[Kuro sounds great..]

Rare variant and evolutions. Am I a pokemon? I thought back to the time when I caught a shiny pikachu.

The owner of the gentle and somewhat slow voice, turned towards me and spoke.

[My adorable baby, you are called Kuro from now on...]

I am not too fammiliar with slime expressions but that two upward curl of the eyes tells me she's smiling at me. Kuro eh, it has a nice ring to it! I blinked my eyes in approval and it seemed to please the two slimes.

The two big blue slimes started to talk to each other again as they begin to push my sides up like how you build a sand castle. They kept repeating this action and I gradually calmed down.

[Little Kuro try to hold your shape together by activating your mana core! Teehee]

Mana core? Is she refering to the mysterious crystalised energy I felt when I was born? As my sides were pushed up again, I tried to focus my thoughts on my mana core and wow! I could control the shape of my mass. My body kept its shape after she let go of me. This routine is probably done for all newborn slimes.

[Great job.. Now try to focus on your mana core again and say kaa-san...]

It seems like the mana core is central to all functions of the slime. It feels like having all your organs in one place. But speaking right after you are born, monsters sure develop fast. Come to think of it, I can understand what is being spoken perfectly. The language ability of slimes must have been passed down through the mana core too, how facinating. After coming this far, I have already accepted the fact that I am now a slime.

Oh well, life takes you to unexpected places so let's see what interesting things are set for me in my new life! At the very least, I have these two slimes as family. The one with the gentle voice must be my mom and the other one should be dad! This is one thing to be grateful for, thanks Kami-sama.

Let's try speaking like how my mom taught. I focused on my mana core to speak. A vibration could be felt going through my whole gel-like body. The whole body hums and a sound is made!

[kaahh!]

It seems like I need lots of practice. Same goes for controlling my body of gel. Lets try again!

[kaaasa!]

[He called us kaa-san!]

Huh? Both of them responded to my call and seemed to have moved expressions on their faces. Being confused I asked.

[Two kaaasa?]

This time the one who was supposed to be my dad replied with an energetic voice.

[Yes we are both your moms teehee! All slimes can reproduce so you can decide your own gender! We just went ahead and assumed you were a boy!]

Does this mean I can get pregnant too? As a human boy in my previous life, this was a rude awakening. My thoughts froze and my system just stopped processing. A couple of moments later, I recovered. Okay lets not think too hard about it for now. I will pretend I didn't hear that. I am definitely a BOY!

[MEE. BOY!]

I declared to my two moms... and they chuckled in response. Its hard to speak in full sentences so only simple words came through.

[Haha it would be confusing to call both of us mom at the same time. Call me Gella kaa-san and call her Lisa kaa-san! Teehee!]

I am a slime! I am a boy! I have two moms! This was how my exiciting slime life began!
