The Zombie Apocalypse happens in this time a shift from the modern to Apocalypse which is mostly a short time period to Post-Apocalypse.
This time can also be the result of a nuclear fallout of countries.
Other reasons that result in the Post-Apocalypse scenario is a dimensional crack, a meteor shower that destroys a percentage of the population, mutations of living beings without order, invasions of aliens and a continental shift are some of the reasons of Post-Apocalypse.

New Age:
When the modern age is considered as a faraway concept it is a new age where civilization experienced a turmoil such as a Post-Apocalypse Scenario and rebuilt civilization.

It can come from Modern times or New Age.
