6 Tokyo tournament finals kanto vs seiseki

time passed and today was the day of final match between our team and seiseki high school team .

the journey till the finals was nothing worth remembering for me because I didnt get to play even once . i understood the reason because even mori our ace didn't get to play . the reason was simple , with our formidable fielding , batting and reserve pitchers we won every game with ease .

today, I was really going to complain to coach but stopped after hearing his words . he wanted to use me today as the starter pitcher so of course I couldn't care less about the previous complaints .. I was really excited as we entered the stadium .

as expected of finals , the audience was really large and one could feel their excitement in their shouts even before the start of game. I saw the opponent players and my blood boiled because I could feel confidence from them . it was finals and confidence , it meant only one thing that they were strong team .

after a while the umpire shouted play ball and the match started . it was our turn to bat first . as expected their ace was really good . he used many types of pitches to play with our first 2 batters and struck them out . it was my at bat as I was the 3rd batter in our line up today .

I stood in the left batters box and looked in the direction of coach who of course gave the sign of hitting. the first ball was an inhigh fastball which I hit with my fastest swing . the ball went flying to the stands and I jogged through the bases . when I touched the home plate , I did a guts pose and listened to the crowds shouts . well it was expected because my batting skills were already top pro class as I trained my body and athletic vision really hard . when I told coach about my athletic vision , he told me that I could train it further . honestly this thought never crossed my mind before so I was really thankful to the coach .

the pitcher was disturbed after my home run . so when he threw a meatball, Sato 4th batter sent it to the stands straight and scored our 2nd run . our 5th batter next hit a 2 base . the pitcher couldn't regain his confidence so their coach sent him to outfield and a reserve pitcher was sent on the mound. after coachs training and my advice , our batters all had improved considerably so it was a bad move to put a reserve pitcher against our batting lineup. just as I expected we scored 7 runs in the first inning before the opponents managed to get the last out .

of course they couldn't even advance a runner to the first base the whole game because our starter pitcher was me . in my excitement I only pitched fastballs with all my might and the opponent batters couldn't even hit the ball forward much less score a hit from me .

after 5 innings we won the match 14 to 0 and the game was called off . our kanto high school earned the qualification to participate in national tournament after beating powerhouse seiseki high school with 14 to 0 in a called game , so of course it was big news .

our news was all over the media when we went back . the school was in celebration mode as students and teachers welcomed us with cheers. I could see a huge banner hanging on the main building. KANTO HIGH SCHOOL KOSHIEN FOR THE FIRST TIME was written on it . I felt pride after looking at the banner . the crowd was getting annoying so i slipped out secretly and went home straight .

i celebrated quietly at home with some steak and cola while looking at the TV. on the TV I watched news about and laughed in happiness. it was expected because I was on TV for the first time .

the national tournament would start after 10 days . there was plenty of time so I just went to sleep early as I was mentally tired .

the next day I didnt train at all and spent the day roaming the city .. it was holiday from practice today so I tried to invite mori and Sato for fun but they declined because of various reasons . I was not happy about that but shrugged it off and visited many places.

during daytime , I went to mall , cinema and library . at night, i just ate some sushi and went back home .
