The Trial

The ship is sleek and modern, with a metallic silver exterior and sharp lines. It looks like it was built for speed and agility. The logo on the side of the ship is a golden circle with a dragon coiled around it, surrounded by intricate designs. The cultivators jumping down from the ship are all young, around Thale's age, and they all exude confidence and determination. They are here for a trial, a rite of passage that many young cultivators undertake in order to prove themselves and advance in their cultivation journey. Thale watches from a distance, wondering if he too will one day be able to participate in such a trial.

As Thale watches from his vantage point on the mountain, he sees more ships approaching the island. Some of them are smaller and more nimble, while others are larger and more imposing. Some of the ships are flying low to the ground, while others are higher up in the sky. Thale can't make out the logos on the sides of the ships from this distance, but he assumes that they belong to different sects or cultivation families.

The island is known for its dangerous trials and powerful spirit beasts, so it's not surprising that many cultivators are drawn here to test their skills and strength. Thale watches as the ships land and more cultivators jump down, ready to take on the challenges of the island. He wonders if he will ever be brave enough to join them.

Thale decides to join the trial. He knows he can't beat them in combat but he can use his archery. Thale watches as the young cultivators from the six sects gather on the beach, each wearing the emblem of their respective sect. They are here for a trial, a rite of passage for young cultivators to prove their worth and potentially join a sect. The trial involves exploring the island and completing various tasks and challenges, all while facing the dangers of the island's powerful and unpredictable beasts. Thale knows he has to be careful and avoid attracting attention from the sects, as he is just a weak cultivator with no sect backing him. He decides to lay low and continue training on his own, hoping to one day be strong enough to take his revenge against the pirates who wronged him and Elara.

Thale knows that if he's caught, he'll be in deep trouble, so he decides to lay low and observe the cultivators from a distance. He watches as the different sects begin to explore the island and set up camp. As he's watching, he sees one of the cultivators from the black flame sect stumble upon a trap set up by the venomous snake sect. The black flame cultivator is caught in the trap and falls to the ground, unconscious. Thale sees an opportunity and decides to take action. He sneaks up on the unconscious cultivator and drags him away to a hidden spot. Once he has the cultivator secured, he begins to interrogate him, trying to find out more about the sects and their motivations for being on the island. The cultivator, who is terrified and disoriented, tells Thale everything he knows. He tells Thale about the trial and how the sects are competing to see who can survive the longest on the island and come out on top. He also tells Thale about the various dangers on the island, including powerful beasts and treacherous terrain. Thale thanks the cultivator for the information and releases him, telling him to go back to his sect and not to tell anyone about their encounter. The cultivator, grateful to be alive, agrees and runs off into the jungle. Thale, armed with new knowledge, decides to continue observing the sects and see if he can gather any more useful information.
