7 Joining the Battle

Thale watched in horror as the pirates reached the shore, some in small boats and some swimming through the water. They seemed determined to take the city by force, and Thale wanted to do something to help.

He remembered the protective dome that had enveloped the city earlier, and he realized that it must only protect against long-range attacks. The pirates were able to get through because they were close enough to the city to attack directly.

Even though he was no match for the pirates, he made up his mind to try and help. He watched as they started their charge toward the city, their weapons drawn and ready for battle.

He grabbed his bow and arrow and made his way down to the city, determined to do whatever he could to defend his home.

Thale raced through the forest, his heart racing as he tried to make sense of what was happening. He had never been in a battle before, and he had certainly never killed a human being. The thought of it made him feel sick to his stomach.

As he approached the city, he could see the pirates charging toward it, their weapons drawn and ready for battle. Thale decided his best strategy is to ambush small groups of pirates who are separated.

He took a deep breath and readied his bow and arrow, trying to steady his shaking hands. He knew that he had to be strong if he wanted to survive this battle, and he resolved to protect as many people as possible and come out of this alive.

Thale was taking a huge risk by joining the battle, but he also knew that he couldn't just sit back and watch as the pirates destroyed the city he grew up in. He was determined to fight.

To get used to it Thale decided to make his first kill from a distance, so he jumped on top of a nearby roof and stay out of sight. He knew that the pirates would be focused on the city lord and the other cultivators, and he hoped that he would be able to take some of them out without being noticed.

He pulled back his arrow, aiming carefully at the neck of a pirate minion. He had to make this shot count, as he wasn't sure if he would get another opportunity.

He took a deep breath and let the arrow fly, watching as it struck its target with deadly accuracy. The pirate fell to the ground, blood leaking onto the floor. Thale had just made his first kill.

He couldn't believe what he had just done, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of horror and revulsion at what he had done. This was not the time for him to think about his actions, he had to keep fighting.

Thale took a deep breath, trying to stop his shaking hands. It was a kill-or-be-killed situation, he wanted to survive, but he also knew that he would never be the same after this battle. He couldn't let his emotions get the better of him. Thale started to observe his surroundings.

He focused on finding his next target, trying to calm his racing thoughts. He had been practicing his archery for five years now, and he knew that he had the skills to take down the pirates if he kept his head and kept hidden.

He spotted another pirate minion and took aim, his fingers steady on the bowstring. He let the arrow fly, watching as it struck its target puncturing the heart. The pirate fell to the ground with a thud.

Thale couldn't believe what he was doing. He had never killed anyone before, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he was doing something wrong. As the battle raged on, Thale knew that he had to be ready for anything. He was determined to defend his home. In this world of cultivation, he had to get used to killing people. The strong survive and the weak perish.
