15 Strategic Meeting
Domotraus and I regrouped back with the others. They were holding out things, waiting outside the castle gates. I just noticed, during the fight with the chained devil. We defeated it without it being able to harm us, and only using two regular scimitars. Ravenna ran up to meet us, along with the others.
"What happened in there?" Ravenna asks
"We just had a word with someone important" I reply
"By someone important, you mean the king?"
"Well, yeah" I reply to her
"What'd you guys say?" Razz asks
"He pretty much knew about this Cilan Mamoru thing, because of Edengeld filling him on the details. He said meeting the necromancers of Nizari won't solve this" I answer
"So what shall we do then?" he asks
"He said to leave it to him, but we have to do something for him first. It would be to eliminate those rebels that call themselves the Gem of Rider" Domotraus answers him
"Then we should get a move on it, We've a lead on them already" Seph says
"What we got?" I ask
"After you guys were carried out by the knights, we went up to the room to see what had happened. Tables and chairs everywhere, the corpses were carried out. So I investigated the room myself using my spell Detect Magic. I detected two different kinds of magic. First, the strongest type of magic that I could sense was ritual magic, the spell was not complete but it was reaching there. The second I could sense something like mother nature" she explains
We continue the conversation as we kept walking, finding an inn.
"What do you mean by you could sense something like mother nature?" I ask
"During my Detect Magic spell, it was as if I could sense the forces of nature present in the room. I don't know how to explain it, but I know what I felt" Seph asnwers
We make it to an inn, and we rented a room. I paid 1 gold to the inn keeper and receive 3 silver pieces as change. The inn was good for the five of us. There were five beds in the room, and we each took our own bed and placed our stuff on the bed. I take my Boots of Speed off and put them beside the bed, as for my bag. I place it on my bed. I put my handbow inside.
"I think we need better weapons" I suggest
"Yeah, I'm getting tired of using daggers" Seph says
"Alright, you guys tell me what you need, I'll write them down then Razz can buy them for us" Ravenna says
"What? Why me?" Razz asks
"Alright, you and Domotraus can go then. The three of us here will discuss about our next plan of action"
"Fair enough, we need to multi-task" Domotraus says
"We had downtime to buy gears, and you guys didn't purchase weapons?" I ask
"More of utility we got" Ravenna says
The rest of my party mentioned the things they wanted to have purchased. Ravenna wrote them all down on paper.
"Since when did we have paper and pen?" I ask
"I bought this from a store in the market, he was selling a kit with papers pens, and many more items" Ravenna replies
After a few minutes of writing, she gives the paper to Razz and puts the pen back in the kit.
"Hm alright, easy to get. We'll be back by night fall" Razz says
Razz and Domotraus leave the room and make their way to the market. The room was left with me, and the two elves.
"I've sensed energy similar to the ritual magic that was almost fully casted in the tavern. They're not far from here, and I don't know what it can do" Seph says
"Do you where exactly?" I ask
"No, not exactly but if I were to use Detect Magic again while following the energy. I'm sure it'll lead us somewhere"
"Well then, I guess our first step of action is to pinpoint their location. Once that's done we can inform the Hollow Arthas knights about it, and assist them in raiding the places simultaneously"
"Why would you want them in on this?" Ravenna asks
"According to the king's request, we are to assist them in taking out the Gems of Rider" I answer
"Anyways, the nearest I could feel is from a house not far from here. In fact, we passed by it on our way to the inn" Seph says
"Well, why didn't you say so? We could've checked it out" I say
"In broad daylight? What if something happened to whoever was in the house, that would make us look sketchy as we are not from here. These spell casters failed to complete the ritual spell because first, they did in during the day. Second, the one we encountered did it in a place full of adventurers of course he'd be stopped"
"How come the other ritual spells weren't complete?" I ask Seph
"It's just a speculation, but I think the whole ritual spell itself requires multiple rituals of the same spell happening at the same time. If one were to fail, the others are to fail as well" she says
"With that in mind, we should find out where the places are first before we launch our attack" I say
"Obviously, so we'll just be exploring. I'll get us a map of the city" Ravenna says
Ravenna leaves the room to get a map of the city, most likely from the innkeeper.
"You saw it from the king too didn't you?" I ask Seph
"Yeah, his dark aura was greater than Cilan's. So much power" she says
"He's a half devil according to him"
"Do you think the previous kings were also half devils? That must be the reason why they didn't participate in the Great Realms' War" she theorizes
"I'm back!" Ravenna says as she opens the door
"I got us the map from the innkeeper. Anyways, this here is the tavern we ate from. Seph, can you pinpoint the house?" she asks
Ravenna encircles the tavern, and encircles the house that Seph points to her. She puts the map back in her bag.
"Alright, let's go searching for the other places then. Seph you take the lead, I'm sure they won't hasty enough to attack us while we're outside." Ravenna says
"Fair point" I say
I put on the boots, and equipped the handbow on my arm and put the cloak on to hide the weapon. I took 3 bolts from the case, and put them in my pocket. I left my bag on my bed, and Ravenna was ready to leave along with Sephsevel. They had put on their cloaks as well. We made our way out and locked our room door. Seph used her spell again, Detect Magic, and she led us the way to where she sensed the traces of the ritual spell. She brought us a storage warehouse, which Ravenna encircled in the map. As we were walking, we come across a sign that says 'keep out'. We ignored it, and we were brought to an isolated part of the city. No one was seen here. We kept going and we were led to a big white mansion. The Mansion had a big front yard garden where we can see the magic circle that is similar as to the one I found in the tavern, the magic circle was bigger.
"What a rare sight, seeing people in keep out zone"
The voice came from the mansion, and a man in a black suit with a masquerade mask shows himself.
