12 Rebels of Zlatan

As the attacks of Razz and Domotraus hit Zaber. We thought we got him, but a force field appears around him last mini second.

"Naxel! I didn't need your help!" Zaber screams

"If I didn't intervene you would've died by that attack. They were both fatal blows!" Naxel says

The force field was around the skin of Zaber, and the longsword of Razz was right at the neck of Zaber, and Domotraus' scimitar somehow went through Zaber's armor.

"That was a splendid battle! This win belongs to the Assassins of Dusk. This may have a been short quick paced spar but I hope you knights had learned a thing or two from them." Naxel says

We all regrouped with each other and Zaber approached us.

"How did you do it?" he asked us.

"It wasn't that hard. All the boys had to do was create the attacks while we support them." Seph says.

"What about the sparks on the my sword? How did you not get affected by it?" he asks

"It was a basic spell called 'Prestidigitation' the sparks were harmless. So even if you could control it. It would still be harmless" she says

"You stopped me from using my power. How'd you do that?" Zaber asks

"You may be half elemental, but does that mean you're able to produce your element with some sort of magic? I first had to figure out your power. Which was the manipulation of lightning. You can't produce it, but you're able to control it. So if you were to make use of your power. I assumed you must've learned some lightning-based magic spells. So I had a counterspell scroll to cancel out your spell. You tried to cast one earlier, which I cancel. I'm surprised by how fast you are to react, but I was prepared with the scroll right after the I sent out the sparks. Ravenna disabled your movement with the spell 'Mold Earth' and powered up Domotraus' scimitar to be making it a magical weapon." Seph explains.

Zaber was speechless. He just looked at us and nodded.

"I see. The next time we meet, I won't be holding back." he responds

"We'll be counting on that" Ravenna says

Zaber leaves us and continued his swordsmanship training. I see someone approach Naxel and give him a scroll. Naxel takes a look at the content of the scroll and his facial expression quickly changed. He looked so serious as if something was going on. He nodded to the messenger and hurried back up. Another man came from the entrance we took to get into the arena. He looked different from the knights here. He didn't wear any armor. He had dark brown hair. Dark brown fierce eyes. He's shirtless, just wearing a white with small black streaks robe covering his arms and his chest. Only his six pack is exposed. Wearing dark brown plate mail chausses. He'd be accompanied by two knights wearing full plate armor. Everyone in the arena saw the man and they all knelt down facing him. He approaches us and crosses his arms.

"You must be the ones Edengeld spoke of, the assassins who met Cilan. Right?" he asks

None of us answered. We felt intimidated by his presence. As if he had great power. I tried to speak but no words came out of my mouth. A dark aura suddenly appears around him. An aura that is on the same level or even greater than Cilan's.

"You see it don't you?" he asks

I just grit my teeth and try to reach for my dagger. My whole body started shaking as soon as he gazes at me in mockery. I could feel how disgusted he is just by the way he looks at us.

"Hmph, the previous heroes were able to speak up to the previous leaders. It seems you lot are way below. I had high expectations." he says

The dark aura disperses, and he turns away walking out. As soon as he left the arena, the other knights stood up and continued on their training. A knight approaches us.

"Why did you guys not kneel down? That was King Xian" he says

"Oh.." I say in awe

Naxel intervenes our conversation and the knight leaves to continue on his training.

"The king visited and spoke to you, Im assuming." Naxel says

"Yeah, how come we weren't informed?" Ravenna asks

"The king comes by unannounced from time to time. The last he visited us was 5 months ago. He seems to have acknowledged you guys."

"Yet we made a bad image of ourselves when he asked us.." she responds to him

"Don't mind it, the king will aid if it's protecting the realm from repeating the war again. I'll persuade him somehow." Naxel replies back

"Alright well we will be on our way, we have to get to our destination as soon as possible." Ravenna says

We said our farewells with Naxel and we head out of the arena to the stairs and passed the hallways. We were assisted by one of the knights to the exit. We got outside and we looked at how it would look like outside, there was nothing there. As if we were inside an invisible building, but we know it's there. Everywhere else was a clearing, and not far from here we could see the market, and the village where we fought the orc. We started walking towards the market and passed it. After hours of walking we made into a deeper part of the city. As we kept walking, I noticed that there were less guards here. Not a single knight of the Hollow Arthas. As if this place was off limits to the kingdom, yet there are a lot of half human villagers here.

We found a tavern called 'The Rising Sun' and we entered it. The place was well lit. There's a quest board with multiple quests posted. The tavern is filled with adventurers of different races. They're all seated having meals together. We took seats near the bartender.

"We'd like five mugs of Ale, one each" Ravenna says as she gives two gold pieces.

"Noted, how about a meal?" the bartender asks as she takes the gold pieces.

"Yes please, whatever you have for all of us" Razz says.

She gave us the mugs of Ale and after waiting for a few minutes we got our plates with bread and we started eating. A wave of adventurers started entering the tavern, and because there wasn't much space in the floor we're in they all went up to the second floor.

"They're at it again" the bartender says

"What do you mean?" I ask

"Here in Zlatan, there's a group that wishes the king to be dead. They're done numerous things and have successfully gotten the attention of the king. He's pretty irritated by them and he's sent out multiple search parties from the palace knights to find this group and kill them one by one." she explains

"Whenever the palace knights go out to search, everyone must enter their homes or stay indoors. They'd usually search public places also such as this tavern, that's why we've decided to have our adventurers an identity card. Do you five have any proof that you're not plotting against the king?" she continues as she wipes a part of a table with a cloth

"Ah I see, well we were with the knights of Hollow Arthas. So hopefully they can vouch for us when the time comes." I say

As we continued eating our meal, we heard a loud sudden scream from the second floor. The other adventurers from the floor we were in looked up, with one preparing his sword and going up the stairs.

"Is there any way up there, that isn't taking the stairs?" Ravenna asks

"Yes there is. Are you planning on doing something?" the bartender asks

"Depends on what's happening there, if ever that adventurer that went to check goes down to tell us what's happening" she replies

"There's a ladder at the back that leads up to the third floor of this tavern, there's a trap door that you can open leading to the second floor once you reach inside" the bartender answers her.

"Then I know what we'll be doing" she replies
