18 Party Crashers
The three of us got back to the inn. Our stuff were still there and nothing gave off the sense that someone had entered. From what I know so far. The Gem of Rider is one pretty problematic group that goes against the king. So problematic to the point that a noble decided to cover themselves from them by isolating a whole village and protecting it from them. Anyways now that we're back, the two others are still out doing the gear shopping for us.
"First of all, that maid was a Changeling" Seph says
"Right, you said that" I reply
"The mansion doesn't seem suspicious, but I still have a gut feeling that they're part of the Gem of Rider" she says
"We gotta solve this fast, we still have a shadow to fight" Ravenna says
Her mentioning the shadow gave me chills, remembering Cilan's appearance in the forest. He took out both of our core members in the group easily. It was as if he was something out of this world. I guess war heroes like him are out of our league.
"Let's stay patient first, we need a plan of action" I say
The two other members entered the room, it was still day time almost dusk. They brought in some gears and tools for us.
"We're back! I got us some very useful stuff!" Razz says
"Nice! What you guys got for us?" I ask
Razz places the items on the table as if they were on display. He picks up a small kit and opens it revealing different small tools inside.
"This my fellow comrades, is the 'Thieves' Tools' used to open any locks. Can do many other things too, like this mirror here. So on so on." Razz explains
I get the Thieves' Tools cause it seems really handy. Razz picks up a gauntlet and shows it to everyone.
"This gauntlet was crafted by one of the greatest craftsman. On top has a hidden blade that can be used to make punching painful. If you press this button, the blade is to show itself" Razz explains
He presses the button for demonstration, and the blade popped up. That's pretty cool, not gonna lie. They'd think it was an arm guard, but there's actually a blade inside. There are four gauntlets, two pairs.
"I'll be keeping one pair if you don't mind" Razz says, as he equips the pair of gauntlets.
Domotraus also gets the pair of gauntlets and equips them both. Razz picks up the daggers that he placed on the table.
"Why so many daggers?" I ask
"Just in case we run out or something, think of it as like backup weapons. Comes with a strap" he replies
I get two daggers and have them strapped on my foot and one around my waist, still hidden from underneath my pants. Sephsevel takes three daggers and straps them hidden around her. Ravenna does the same only taking two daggers. Seph sees the Light Crossbow and she picks it up. We both split the bolts. I took ten, she took ten.
"I got us some Hempen rope and I found a really good alchemy shop along the way" Razz says
Razz opens a small bag and lays down glass tubes with liquids inside. I recognize five of them being healing potions. There's three being of the same green color, and two being blue. They must be some weird potions, so I just took the two blue ones.
"What are these blue potions?" I ask
"The blue ones are strength potions, that's what the potion brewer said" Razz replies
Strength potions, that's pretty sick. I kept them in my bag, and I'm pretty satisfied with the things I got for now. I took a short rest on my bed, while everyone else was doing their own thing. Sephsevel updated Razz and Domotraus, Ravenna went out to look around.
Hours have passed and I woke up from the rest. Didn't get any weird dreams like last time. Fighting a giant zombie eyeball was one weird dream. Domotraus was on his bed just looking at his dagger. I sit upwards and faced to him. Noticing that the others are out I had asked him where the others.
"The others just went out, it's night time and you were asleep so I stayed here on watch" he replies
I took a short rest, how did it become night time already? Unless I lost track of time, that probably explains it.
"Enjoyed your sleep?" he asks
"Slept like a log" I answer
"Great now pack up, we're going somewhere. Ravenna made up a plan" he says
"What would that plan be?" I ask
"It's hard to explain, even I didn't get it. She just gave us the instructions"
I got my things and put on the cloak. The both of us went out of the inn. We walked until we reached a building that looked very lit inside. As if they were having a party inside. We were outside the entrance of the building.
"So what are we doing here?" I ask
"This is phase 1 of the plan" he replies
"Would you like to elaborate on that?"
"Ravenna went out earlier to do information gathering, her sources said that one of the nobles would throw a party at this location. Now it would make sense that this place is to be attacked by the Gem of Rider since the nobles are what's fueling the kingdom's treasury and military. Seph wants us to sneak in" he answers
"So we're gonna be breaking in, interesting. Doing so much for this rebel hm" I reply
"Correct, now let's get inside" he says
It looked more of like a mansion with in a small forest. We went and hid behind one of the big trees near the walls of the mansion. Domotraus pulled out like a makeup kit.
"I didn't know you were into girly stuff like that" I say
"It's a disguise kit, I'm gonna make us look like nobles so we can enter" he says
I approach him and sit down near him. He does my face using his so called disguise kit. After some time, he shows me a mirror and I gotta hand it to him. He's pretty good at using his makeup kit. He begins to do his face making himself look like a noble. I don't know how this makeup will make us look like nobles, but I'll trust this guy since he seems like a professional at this disguise kit thing. Once he finished, he opens his bag and gives me new clothing. Fine clothing, something a noble would wear.
"Where'd you get this much money to buy this?" I ask
"I didn't Ravenna stole this in broad daylight" he replies
"How'd she steal it without getting caught?" I ask
"She's skilled that way, makes us rogues look like a lesser version of her"
"True, but we all got our own specialty" I reply
I put on the fine clothing, so did Domotraus. I dug a hole in the ground and placed my bag and cloak in the hole. I still kept my other hidden daggers in me, but I kept the hand crossbow in my bag. I placed a strength potion in my pocket, and kept the Thieves' Tools on me. Domotraus did the same and we buried the hole. We marked the tree and we went our way.
We slipped in with a crowd of nobles making their way to the mansion. They enter the gate and the guards just greeted them. Good thing they didn't do a quick checkup. We were able to slip in easily. Front door of the mansion was open wide. I faced towards Domotraus.
"Split up, enjoy party and meet here?" I ask
"How about stick together, not look shady. Mingle with other rich kids and find clues" he says
"Same idea I had in mind"
"Then we're good to go"
