Kokoro's Nursing Mode

Ugh... the lingering heat on my tongue is a constant reminder of Kokoro's spicy surprise.

Slowly, I forced my eyes open, greeted by the soft glow of daylight filtering through the curtains.

What time is it?

My phone lay on the desk beside the bed, just within arm's reach. I reached for it to check the time.

As I started to stir, I overheard Kokoro's voice outside my room.

"I have an idea on how to make Kyo-kun happy once he's awake!"

Interesting... I decided to play along and feigned being still asleep. With careful movements, I adjusted myself to appear peacefully slumbering, although the sweat on my back and the heaviness in my head betrayed the act.

Kokoro burst into the room, her face lit up with a radiant smile. "Good morning, Kyo-kun!" She rushed to my side, her excitement palpable. "Ara? He's still sleeping?"

"Maybe we should let him rest after all," Misaki suggested hesitantly.

I maintained my charade, silently amused by their concern.

"No can't do! We have to treat him!"

Misaki seemed to agree reluctantly, "Well, I'll go see if there's something we can help him. I'll be right back."

Kokoro applauded Misaki's idea. "I see! Good idea, Misaki!!"

As Misaki left the room, Kokoro was contemplating how to rouse me from my pretend slumber.

I observed her amusing struggle, tapping her chin and gazing at the ceiling. Then, her face lit up with a brilliant idea, and she smiled widely.

"I know! I heard that kissing someone's lips can make them wake up! Well then, Kyo-kun, I will kiss you right away!"

Eh? What?!

Before I could react, Kokoro swiftly got on top of me. "Uwah! Kyo-kun's face is so cute!! Well then! Prepare yourself!" she exclaimed, poised to kiss me.

Reacting quickly, I opened my eyes and blurted out, "I'm awake!"

"Ah! Kyo-kun! Good morning!!"

"G-Good morning, Kokoro-chan... Please get off of me," I requested, feeling relief and embarrassment.

Kokoro, still beaming, hopped off, seemingly unfazed. "Did it work? Did you wake up all happy and refreshed?"

"Well, I'm certainly awake now," I chuckled, trying to shake off the lingering drowsiness. "What's all this commotion about anyway?"

Kokoro beamed with enthusiasm, that even I couldn't understand.

"To make you feel better, I will be taking care of you! But before that, stay still, Kyo-kun!"

"Eh? W-where are you going?"

"Hehe! Just watch!" she replied mischievously.

As Kokoro exited my room, a sudden realization hit me—I hadn't noticed before, but she was wearing a robe.

A few moments later, she knocked on the door before reentering, unveiling her new attire. My eyes widened at the sight of Kokoro dressed in a nurse outfit.

"Taadaa!"

"D-don't 'taadaa' me... What's with the getup all of a sudden?!" I stammered, caught off guard.

"What are you talking about, Kyo-kun? I'm a nurse, and you will be the patient!"

"...Eh?"

Kokoro, fully committed to her role, approached me with an imaginary clipboard in hand. "Alright, Mr. Nakasone, let's start the checkup! How are you feeling today?"

Why are we roleplaying all of a sudden?

"Uh, I'm fine, Kokoro-chan."

Kokoro continued with her nurse roleplay, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Now, now, patient Kyo-kun, you must listen to Nurse Kokoro's orders for a speedy recovery!"

I sighed, "Alright, Nurse Kokoro, what are your orders then?"

She handed me a "prescription" that was essentially a doodle on a piece of paper. "First, laughter is the best medicine! So, let's start with a joke! Why did the tomato turn red?"

"Why...?"

"Because it saw the salad dressing!"

I couldn't help but chuckle at her corny joke, and Kokoro clapped her hands in delight. "Great response, patient Kyo-kun! Laughter check complete!"

Ah crap, It was corny yet I laughed?!

"Now, for the next step, we need to boost your energy levels. Nurse Kokoro's special remedy – a delicious snack!"

Kokoro revealed a heart-shaped cookie with a grin.

She handed it to me, and I hesitated before taking a bite. To my surprise, it was genuinely tasty.

"Wow, this is good! Did you make it yourself, Nurse Kokoro?"

"Of course! Homemade treats are an essential part of the recovery process," she replied proudly.

How come you couldn't make a proper curry then!?

...I should tell her I'm good so she gets out of my room before this gets worse.

"Looks like I'm starting to get better, Nurse Kokoro," I mumbled, in my voice slightly raspy.

A spark of joy lit up Kokoro's eyes, and she clasped her hands together. "Really?! I see! It seems that it worked!"

I nodded, his gaze fixed on Kokoro. "It did."

Excitement bubbled in Kokoro's chest, and she couldn't contain the wide grin that spread across her face.

"Oh! For the last part of your recovery! How about I sing you a song!"

I arched an eyebrow, intrigued. "Sing me a song? That'll be great."

Kokoro's eyes twinkled mischievously. "Then! I'll sing you a parody song!"

"A parody?"

Her grin widened, and she nodded animatedly. "Yeah! Do you know! Snow, Moon, and Flower?"

My eyes brightened with recognition. "Of course, it's the opening for 'Unbreakable Machine-Doll,' right?"

Kokoro clapped her hands together in excitement. "Yeah yeah! Then get ready to be blown away by my song! Kyo-kun!"

I shifted uncomfortably in my bed. "Wait, isn't that song too hype? Won't you get tired?"

Kokoro chuckled, her laughter was infectious. "Hehe! What are you talking about, Kyo-kun? The most important thing is a smile!"

"Huh? I don't know about that, though!"

Undeterred, Kokoro took a deep breath, her eyes sparkling with determination. As she launched into her parody, she added playful gestures and animated expressions, turning the room into a stage.

Her performance was filled with exaggerated gestures, and she danced around the room as if it were a grand stage.

As she sang, I couldn't help but be impressed by her dedication to making me feel better.

Now I feel bad for forcing her to get out.

Kokoro finished her energetic performance with a dramatic flourish, striking a pose. "And that concludes Nurse Kokoro's special song for patient Kyo-kun!"

I couldn't contain my laughter at her theatrics. "That was... something else, Nurse Kokoro. I didn't expect a parody to be so entertaining."

She grinned, her eyes shining with satisfaction. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, Kyo-kun! Laughter is the best medicine, after all!"

I guess that's true.

The door creaked open, and Misaki entered the room, her eyes widening as she took in the unexpected sight before her. "Kokoro, how's Nakasone-" Her voice trailed off as her gaze shifted between me and Kokoro, jaw-dropping in disbelief. Blinking a few times, she stammered, "K-Kokoro? W-what's with the...!?" A noticeable blush spread across her cheeks, and she mumbled about a "lewd outfit."

Kokoro beamed at Misaki. "Misaki! You're finally here! You see! I just gave Kyo-kun a great service!"

"Service!?" Misaki's shock was palpable as she turned to me. "I need explanations."

Uwah... She's overreacting.

Misaki pinched the bridge of her nose, clearly trying to process the peculiar scene. "Kokoro, next time, please think twice before... providing services like these."

Kokoro tilted her head, looking genuinely puzzled. "But Misaki, it's all about making Kyo-kun happy! And he enjoyed it, right?"

God damn it.

I sighed, knowing that arguing with Kokoro about her unique ways was futile. "Yeah, it was... interesting. But let's get back to reality. I'm feeling better now, thanks to both of you."

I feel like I'm gonna get sick even more...

As Misaki and Kokoro exchanged glances, I couldn't help but wonder how my recovery turned into such an unconventional escapade.
