1 WU SHEN

"Wu Shen, you will die tonight!" a man's voice thundered through the sky as his Qi imbued sword sped towards another man standing below.

"Do you think I'll let you kill me just like that?" Wu Shen sneered as he lifted he unsheathed his sword.

The moment the raging man in the sky came closer and laid his eyes on the sword in Wu Shen's hands, his eyes lit up with greed. The Xuanlong Lin Sword! The man had heard about the legendary blade not too long ago and knew that it was a peerless sword for top tier cultivators!

He had searched high and low for the legendary blade and finally, he found the location. However! He was angered to find that someone had already obtained the blade!

Filled with greed he summoned his men to ambush the owner of the sword who happened to be going out of the city.

"Wu Shen, truly you've surprised me! To think that you'd be the owner of the Xuanglong Lin Sword!" the man's taut voice echoed from above. "You! A waste of all people! How dare you think you're worthy of using it!" the man bellowed.

He was now seething with anger and envy. Originally after seeing the legendary sword, he froze mid attack, but now had completely lost himself and went in for the kill, aiming straight at Wu Shen's throat.

"And you think you're worthy?" Wu Shen chuckled darkly darkly, narrowing his eyes.

Ching!

The sound of the two Qi imbued swords clashed, creating a blinding flash of light.

Both men fell back, the man staggered a few steps back, while Wu Shen only took 2 steps. The difference between the two men's strengths was clear.

The man was shocked when he saw this, and instantly jealously erupted in his heart. How could a waste suddenly become so strong? Don't tell me, is it the Xuanlong Lin Sword?! Clenching his teeth, he rushed in for the kill once more, this time his murderous intentions were filling the space around him making the air heavy.

Wu Shen discreetly wiped the corner of his mouth as he waved his sword to meet the man's attack.

A secret guard watching felt extremely worried, his heart was tight as he noticed his master wipe his mouth. He's been injured! The secret guard clenched his fist. Truly, he did want to go out and protect his master, however his master had clearly told him unless he said otherwise, he wasn't to interrupt this fight. My Lord, please be okay!

A few more exchanges were made between the two males before the man collapsed onto the ground in regret, his mouth and chest spilling blood.

Wu Shen was breathing heavily as he landed, a little dark blood slid out of his mouth. Flicking his black to rid it of the man's blood, Wu Shen sheathed it and quickly grasped his chest as he tried to force the turbulence in his body to a still.

The secret guard saw that the man had fallen and quickly leaped out of the shadows to brace his wounded master.

"My Lord!" the secret guard held onto Wu Shen who was sweating profusely. "My Lord, are you alright?" the secret guard asked nervously as he noticed at Wu Shen's pale face.

"Guo, don't worry, just a little while more and it'll pass." Wu Shen said dismissively.

"But My Lord! If that you were never poisoned, how could a man like him even have the ability to touch your shoes?!" Guo said angrily. If only I had noticed something strange that day, he would never have been poisoned! Guo was feeling deep regret looking at his master weaken everyday.

"No matter, when the time comes, they'll be on a one way journey to hell." Wu Shen said darkly as his eyes glinted with killing intent. Guo felt a chill on his neck as he listened to his master and knew better than to say anything else at this moment.

Cough cough!

Wu Shen suddenly coughing made Guo alarmed.

"My Lord!"

"It's nothing." Wu Shen brushed off the concern as he wiped his mouth and stood up straight again. Guo watched helplessly as his Master ignored the issue in his body. A few days ago, his Master had been unknowingly poisoned. Of course, with the power behind his Master, it would be an easy eat for them to find a cure. However, the issue was that this poison was too mysterious! No doctor or poisons master had ever seen this poison before let alone know how to cure it!

Gradually as the days passed, his Master's body kept weakening and he was only able to exert a portion of his full strength before coughing up blood.

Suddenly the sound of leaves rustling behind them could be heard. Both tensed and Guo quickly turned around to meet the unknown force. However, the moment the shadow left the trees and was revealed to them, Guo relaxed.

It was his subordinate that had returned.

"An, what is it?"

An went forward and knelt down on one knee before answering.

"Leader, I've returned with some information regarding the poison in the Lord's body." the moment An said this, both Guo and Wu Shen shuddered albeit Guo being more obvious.

"An! Quickly!" Guo became agitated! Finally! We have a lead!

"Leader, the intelligence finally found out about a famous doctor in the mountains who is able to cure anything. They live deep within the forest of White Peak Mountain." An reported.

"White Peak Mountain…" Guo recalled the map of the area, "That's only a few hours away! What else did you find out?"

Hearing this, An hesitated before responding.

"Leader, the intelligence struggled to find anything else out about this mysterious doctor in the mountains, the only thing we know is that the building they reside in is called Bamboo Pavilion. Every time we tried to enter deeper into the mountains to look for this building though, we got lost. Many of my brothers and sisters were unable to penetrate the forest, it's already very lucky that none of us were trapped."

Guo was shocked! He knew exactly just how strong his subordinates were, and the expansive skills and knowledge they each had! But for them to be unable to find anything besides what seemed to be purposefully spread, this was a major shock for Guo.

Wu Shen on the other hand, despite being surprised didn't feel that this was unreasonable. If there really was such an amazing and omnipotent doctor on these lands, how many major powers would covert them? So it was not too surprising to know that there were many defences set up around the residence of this famous doctor.

"An."

"Yes My Lord."

"Did you say that you got lost in the mountains?" Wu Shen asked to confirm.

"Yes My Lord, that is correct."

"Was there anything peculiar that you noticed?"

"Indeed there was My Lord. The deeper you go into the forest on White Peak Mountain, the more dense the forestry becomes. What's truly peculiar is however the fact that there is a strange mist which seems to unceasingly fall from the sky deep in the mountain. We had observed it for almost 3 days and never did this mist stop falling, nor did it move elsewhere. The mist seemed to be contained within a certain boundary." An replied in detail while recalling what she saw.

"Matrix!" Wu Shen instantly knew what it was. Putting together all the information An had given him, he instantly realised what it was. But a matrirx? Who could be so skilled to have put up such a large matrix? Although Wu Shen was confused, he didn't think any further - there were plenty of hidden masters throughout the continent.

When Guo heard his master, his face froze. With such a matrix in place, how would they be able to visit the mysterious doctor and ask for his help in curing the poison?!

Although Guo was feeling worried, Wu Shen on the other hand had calmed down. Now that he knew about the existence of such a large matrix on White Peak Mountain, he was sure that this mysterious doctor was someone unparalleled in the art of medicine. Other-wise, why would there be such an elaborate matrix keeping outsiders from entering?

"An."

"Yes My Lord."

"You've done well."

Hearing her master's words, An knew that she was no longer needed and bowed her head before disappearing.

"My Lord?" Guo looked over to Wu Shen with a puzzled look.

"Guo, it's time to set off. We're going to White Peak Mountain." Wu Shen said simply before walking off.

Guo's eyes instantly widened before he chased after Wu Shen.

"But My Lord! What about the matrix?" Guo's worries weren't unfounded. Matrixs' were something to be feared since without knowing the correct path, one could be trapped in there for an eternity or fall victim to it's vicious rules.

Wu Shen waved his hand dismissively and continued on the path towards his temporary residence.

As the saying goes, if there's a will, there's always a way.
