3 Mysterious Assassin

Kyler kept his breathing calm as he listened to the Raider boss. He wanted to leave but these men were blocking the only exit out of the cave. After weighing his options, Kyler finally decided on a risky plan. He prepared three arrows.

The first arrow he used a trick shot he called a slither shot. The idea was to shoot the arrow low and bounce it lightly on the ground. You lost some momentum but the effect was it looked like a snake shooting directly out at someone. He used this shot against demon beasts. He used it to startle the demon beasts and make them jump in a predetermined path. This set them up for his next shot.

Just as he predicted, the slither shot caused one of the Raiders to jump, Kyler's next arrow caught him through his throat. A second later, a third shot was fired at another Raider. The shot barely missed him and hit the wall at the entrance of the cave.

The Raider boss was shocked at losing another man. He almost lost two men, if the other one hadn't been lucky and dodged in the correct direction he would have been dead too. There were only two Raiders left.

Kyler dropped his arms to his side after shooting the shots. He was exhausted. He wasn't built for battle, especially a protracted one like this. When Kyler's arms came down his elbow hit the wall sharply. It felt like the rock wall gave in a little. Before he could react, he found himself tumbling backward through a hole in the wall. It was like the wall disappeared. Not long after he fell backward, the hole in the wall closed.

The Raider's boss was sweating and had his back against the wall and hid behind an outcropping from the wall. The other Raider was on the ground. "Get up you fool!" the boss said. The man on the ground scrambled to the side.

The Raider's boss was confused because it would have been a perfect time to kill his last man but the assassin didn't attack. "Follow me," the boss said. He pulled out his bow and arrow and started shooting into the shadows. He already determined the direction the arrows were coming from. The other Raider started shooting his arrows in the same direction. As they shot they moved closer to the position Kyler was at previously.

They finally approached the location where Kyler should be but couldn't find anyone there. They found the original two Raiders Kyler killed. The Raider's boss was scared out of his mind. Where did the kid go? He wondered. "Boss, what happened to the kid?" the other Raider asked.

"You think a Kid did all of that? Could you take out so many people at once and then disappear?" The boss asked.

"Then what happened?" the last Raider asked.

The Raider's boss looked back at the entrance of the cave. "I didn't see or feel anyone get by me, did you?" he asked.

"No, boss," the Raider said.

"You and I just survived a situation we should have died from," The Raider's boss said.

"What do you mean boss?" The Raider asked.

"I don't know why, but someone set us up," the boss said.

"Set us up? Who could do that?" the Raider said.

"I don't know, but it's the only explanation. We were ambushed in our base. We were supposed to kill a useless kid from the Smith family but instead, we got ambushed by an expert assassin," The Raider's boss said.

"You don't think Clyde set us up do you?" the Raider asked.

"It's unlikely, but you never know. I'm going to find out who did this and why and then I'm going to kill them. No one messes with the Raiders!" The Raider boss said.

A growling sound came from the entrance of the cave. The Raider's boss was shocked to see a demon beast standing at the entrance eyeing them like they were its prey. The Raider's boss cursed before rallying his companion to attack the beast.

The beast was a two-tailed Scorpian Leopard. Scorpian Leopard's were a kind of demon beast that was a cat beast but it had two tails with a stinger at the end of each of their tails. They were considered level two demon beasts. Both of the Raiders shot arrows at the creature, but their arrows were swatted out of the air.

The Raider boss threw his bow and arrow to the side and pulled out a large rapier. The other Raider dropped his bow and brought out a battleax. He went to the side of the Scorpion Leopard while the Raider boss went straight at it. The Raider with the ax reached it first and barely blocked one of the stingers. The other stinger went for the Raider boss.

He managed to cut off the stinger and avoid a claw. The beast was angry now that it lost one of its stingers. Surprisingly, it didn't go after the Raider boss, instead, it turned its attention to the other Raider and jumped at him.

He was shocked and panicked but he still had enough presence of mind to bring his ax down on the attacking animal. The ax cut halfway into the forelimb of the Scorpian Leopard's front left leg. It roared in fury. The Raider couldn't pull the ax out so he abandoned it and pulled out a knife. The beast's other claw came down and smashed the Raider into the ground and pinned him. The Raider yelled in pain.

The Raider stabbed his knife into the neck of the creature just as the other stinger stabbed him in his head. He died instantly. The knife wound wasn't enough to kill the animal but it was bleeding pretty hard.

The Raider boss didn't lose the opportunity and brought his sword down and cut halfway through the animal's neck. It finally died from the wound. The Raider boss let go of the sword, fell on the ground, and scrambled back to the entrance. He was breathing heavily and wasn't looking at where he was backing up to. He felt something poking into his back; he reacted like he was under attack by another beast. When he turned around, he saw an arrow with its arrowhead sticking into the ground. The arrow pierced through a piece of extremely smelly meat.

"Stink bait, how vicious!" he said to himself. The assassin didn't miss with his third arrow. He set them up. He escaped the cave to allow a beast to finish them off. The Raider's boss's eyes widened as he realized the bait was still there. He and the other Raider managed to kill off this level two beast, but who knew what else would show up. He was too scared to wait around. He scrambled to his feet and pulled a knife out and ran into the woods. He fled for his life.

At that time, Kyler was struggling to find his feet after sliding down into a pit of some sort.
