Chapter 8

Hyun Na Bi had seen the video of what had happened the day before. She had proposed to Jin Yong in front of everyone and he had blatantly rejected her and told that Ahn Se Na was his girlfriend. Maybe in the past she was wailing in sorrow, but now she was the least bothered about that. Hyun Na Bi was not even worried that everyone in the college had witnessed this. As far as she knew, she was not in contact with anyone except Jeong Hyun Joo after she dropped out of college. And even with Jeong Hyun Joo she spoke very rarely, maybe once a year. So who cares what about what anyone thinks about her?

Jeong Hyun Joo was Hyun Na Bi's only friend in her college days and as far as she could remember she rarely spoke to anyone else. She could not even remember anyone else from her class.

The only thought running in Hyun Na Bi's mind was, 'Why should I be bothered about what these people think of me? After a couple of years I'm never going to see them again in my life"

Hyun Na Bi had joined this university just to be near Jin Yong and she had done only that the entire three years she was here in the past. Going to college for the first time in thirteen years, Hyun Na Bi was more nervous than she expected. She was going to college after 13 years and studying was not something she enjoyed. Hyun Na Bi had found it difficult to even pass the examination and studying was not her forte. She hated assignments and examinations and she despised going to college. She sucked in studies and if not for Jin Yong she would have never stepped into college. Hyun Na Bi looked at her schedule which was full from taking the required subjects and also the subjects which Jin Yong was taking. She made a mental note to cancel those unnecessary classes and focus on her own if she wanted to graduate.

When Hyun Na Bi entered the campus, just as she expected most of the students were pointing their finger or talking about her behind her back, but Hyun Na Bi never bothered to even warn them. She was walking slowly taking her own time but Jeong Hyun Joo dragged her, "Let's go quickly"

Hyun Na Bi sat on the last row, near the door so that she can slip out when she wants.

Hyun Na Bi had always sat at the front row next to Jin Yong and Jeong Hyun Joo sat with her boyfriend at the back. This had been happening every single day from the day Hyun Na Bi started taking classes with Jin Yong.

Jeong Hyun Joo was surprised, "Not sitting in the first row next to him?"

Hyun Na Bi shook her head and settled comfortably at the back row. Her mind was so peaceful that he was ready to fall asleep even in the classroom but the professor's non stop lecture did not let her sleep peacefully, his voice was irritating her. So to pass time Hyun Na Bi finally started thinking about the future.

Hyun Na Bi was sure of one thing; she would never live her life like the last time. Not being independent had forced her to stay with her husband in a loveless marriage. Hyun Na Bi understood one thing clearly, she should either get a degree and join in some job or the other to keep herself financially stable or she should gain experience in any field and continue her journey in that path. If not her life would be miserable and she would have to depend on her husband and live a meaningless life. She wasn't the type to say that would should always be independent and stand on their own foot at all times but after her past experience with her husband, she wasn't sure that she could trust someone and live her life freely like the past. So she started thinking about her various career options. The only work she did last time was work as the director of the gallery and she got the position only because she was the daughter in law of Park family. Hyun Na Bi was sure that someone under qualified like her wouldn't be selected for the job if she went for an interview now, no one would believe her even if she tells them the truth. The Park's wouldn't give her the job and even if she did accept the job, she would definitely be made the scapegoat in future.

The lecture was too boring so she started making a list of professions that interested her.

Jin Yong was sitting in the front row as usual but he couldn't concentrate on the lecture going on. Hyun Na Bi had not sat next to him and she had not even glanced at him a single time from when she entered the classroom.

Jin Yong knew that he was too mean to Hyun Na Bi but he had to do that now. At the end of the grand plans he made for future, he wanted Hyun Na Bi by his side, but now he had to concentrate on other people and Ahn Se Na was one among them. He was over confident that Hyun Na Bi would wait for him no matter what. If he wanted everything in his life then he should sacrifice something and that was Hyun Na Bi. He hadn't expected her to join the university. He had meant what he said to Hyun Na Bi during her father's funeral; he will surely come back to her but it will take some time. Even after what he did Hyun Na Bi had never tried dating other boys or anything as such to make him jealous and he was happy with that. Occasionally Hyun Na Bi bullied Ahn Se Na and though he showed outside that he cared for Ahn Se Na, he was not truly bothered by what Hyun Na Bi was doing to her.

But now Hyun Na Bi did not wish him on his birthday and even the day before she was indifferent to him. He knew that he deserved it after behaving like a jerk to her but still it hurt. Hyun Na Bi had left the place without a backward glance at him and even though it was his birthday she never gave him even the breakfast which she got for him daily. Jin Yong was waiting to see what Hyun Na Bi where she would sit, and he saw that she sat in the last row farthest away from him. Even when he looked at her, she did not spare a glance at him.

Jin Yong looked at Hyun Na Bi again in the middle of the class and saw that she was writing something. The Hyun Na Bi he knew never took notes in the classroom so he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw her taking notes. Only Hyun Na Bi knew what she was really doing.
