2 Chapter 2: Rumors
I woke up to my alarm blaring so I got up and got dressed
After I got dressed I went to my brothers rooms and woke them up
"Get up we don't want to be late" I said
At that they both got up and got ready. I left the room once they got out of bed and went downstairs
Adin came down in a gray hoodie, dark blue jeans and black shoes
And Baelfire came down in a maroon shirt, a maroon jacket, ripped jeans, and gray shoes
"Here I'll stop by Corey's Coffee Shop and grab something for breakfast for us since we don't have time"
When we got in my car
We stopped by Corey's Coffee shop and we all got what we wanted. Then we were on our way to school
When we got to school Adin and Baelfire got out and went towards their friends
You see we're triplets and their the ones who are popular than I am. They play sports where I'm shy and a bookworm
When I got out of my car I locked it and walked towards the school. I was on my way to my locker when I accidentally bumped into one of the most popular girls in school Rosalynn.
"Watch where your going nerd" she said
"I- I'm sorry Rosalynn"
She walked away with her other friends. When she left this girl who looks like she's on a sugar high came up to me
She just so happens to be my friend Ainsley Scott
"Adeline what was that" she asked
I shrugged and said "I accidentally bumped into her what's the big deal"
She laughed and said "come on we have Ap English"
After Ap English was Math and then lunch
The bell rang for English to be over and now it was time for math.
We walked into math and took our seat. We took some notes for our test tomorrow and then we did some fractions and then the bell rang for lunch
When I got to the cafeteria I grabbed my lunch and went to go sit back down. After about a minute Ainsley came over and sat down
As we were enjoying our food. Rosalynn and her group of friends came up and Rosalynn dumped her coffee all over me.
The whole cafeteria was staring and laughing. Ainsley looked at me with sympathy.
I had tears in my eyes but I wasn't gonna let the whole cafeteria see me crying.
I got up and ran out of the cafeteria and into the girls bathroom but before I got out of the cafeteria I heard Ainsley say "what the actual hell Rosalynn. What was the point in that she didn't do anything to you"
When I got to the bathroom I got some paper towels and got them damp and tried to get her coffee out of my clothes and hair.
It was useless. My clothes were ruined until I got home but even then i probably wouldn't be able to wear them to school again
After a few minutes Nadia came in and saw me and said "oh my god Adeline what happened"
I said "Rosalynn" she just nodded and said "let me guess she dumped her coffee on you because you bumped into her by accident" I nodded
She said " I have some extra clothes in my bag if you want them and sorry for not being In the cafeteria with you and Ainsley"
I said "it's okay Nadia, I know you were hanging out with Baelfire"
She looked down. I said "Nadia it's okay"
She looked up and said "you aren't mad"
I laughed and said "Nadia I've known you since we were little and I'm glad Baelfire asked you to be his girlfriend in sophomore year"
She smiled and said "thanks Adeline. Let me get you those clothes"
I nodded and said "yeah"
She handed me them and I went into the stall and changed and then came back out
"Thank you Nadia" she smiled and said "come on. We have lunch still" as we walked back to the cafeteria she was telling me about one of Baelfire's teammates
When we got back to the cafeteria. Everyone was staring at us. As we walked back to our table I heard whispers
"She deserved what Rosalynn did" a random person said
"I heard she's sleeping with the Gates brothers" someone else said. I made a face of disgust
"Did you see she was with the Gates brothers this morning"
"I heard she has herpes" someone else said
"I heard that she's suicidal" someone said
Someone else said "good maybe next time she'll cut deeper" tears welled up in my eyes. I guess Nadia saw once we got to our table
"Okay that's it" Nadia said standing up on the table
"Nadia what the hell are you doing" I said
"I'm telling people to stop with the damn rumors Adeline" she said
"Please don't" I looked down
She sighed and said "fine I won't but wait until Baelfire and Adin hear about this"
"Hear about what" Adin and Baelfire said
"Uhm n-nothing" I said
"Adeline Colette Gates what's going on" Baelfire said
Always the overprotective big brother even though we're triplets he was born first and then Adin and then me
I looked down and didn't speak
"Adeline" Adin warned
Nadia said "people are making rumors about Adeline, oh and Rosalynn dumped her coffee all over Adeline 10 minutes ago that's why she's wearing my clothes"
I just let the tears slip down my face. Once again the whole cafeteria was staring at our table
Baelfire stood on the table and said "what are these rumors I keep hearing about" he looked at Nadia
She said "they were saying how she was sleeping with you and Adin and how she has herpes and how she's suicidal and how next time maybe she should cut deeper
Baelfire looked beyond furious and so did Adin. Baelfire said " these rumors need to stop. Adeline is mine and Adin's sister for gods sake we're triplets. Adeline is not suicidal, she doesn't have herpes so stop with the damn rumors. Next rumor I hear about my sister from someone they are getting punched. Do y'all understand"
The whole cafeteria nodded. After that announcement Baelfire got off the table and then pulled me up and just hugged me
I was still crying and I hated it. I hated feeling like a burden to my brothers, my friends, my family
Baelfire whispered in my ear and said "how bout we skip the rest of the day I can tell the principal that you aren't feeling good" I just nodded
Baelfire looked at Adin and gave him "the we're going home look" he kissed Nadia and told her what was happening
She understood and then we left and told the principal that I wasn't feeling good
Once we got home I went up to my room and went straight to bed getting out of Nadia's clothes making sure to wash them tomorrow
