1 Chapter 1: The job

"Adeline, get up. Your going to be late for school" My mom yelled

I jolted up out of bed and looked at my alarm clock.

"Crap" I ran to my closet falling in the process. "Ow" once I got back up I went to my closet and picked out my outfit.

After I got dressed I put my phone in my back pocket and ran downstairs being careful not to fall (again).

"Hey mom. Where's Adin and Baelfire"

"Hey Adeline. They left for school already. So my friend  Kerri wanted to know if you could babysit her son tonight"

"How much would I be getting paid" my mom rolled eyes and said "I don't know Adeline. Does it matter"

"I guess not. I was just wondering"

"I need to let Kerri know something so yes or no" mom said

"Yes"

Mom gives me the address before I go off to school and her go to work.

I kiss my mom goodbye and head on out to my car. When I get to school. I get out and go inside.

Once school is over. I go home and drop off my bag and then I get back into my car and drive to the address mom gave me.

When I got to the house that was only about a 2 minute drive. When I got out of my car. I went and knocked on the door.

When the door opened I saw a middle aged woman about my moms age.

"You must be Adeline. Hi I'm Kerri" she said

"Hi Kerri. It's nice to meet you"

"So I have to work late tonight so your be watching my son Xander" we walked into the living room where I saw a boy around my age

"Babysitters here" Kerri said

He turned around and said "seriously mom. I don't need a babysitter" he looked me up and down

"He's not allowed to have friends over, or allowed to go out. I'll be home around midnight. Thanks again for babysitting"

"So what did you do to need a babysitter" I asked

He said " I came home drunk and my moms tired of it"

I just nodded. He then started up the stairs. I looked at him and said "you better not be sneaking out"

He said "what are you gonna do. Spank me"

I rolled my eyes and said "no I'll tell your mom" he rolled his eyes and went upstairs

I turned on the tv and started rewatching some random episode of how I met your mother

A few minutes later Xander comes back downstairs and sat on the couch he was laying on earlier. Taking the remote from me before he sat down.

"Really your watching how I met your mother" he said.

"Yeah what's wrong with that"

"Everything. It's nerdy"

After watching basketball. It was around 11 when I fell asleep. Around 11:50 I heard the door open and in came Kerri.

"Hey thanks again for babysitting. He didn't give you any trouble did he" she said

I nodded no and said "everything was perfectly fine. Thank you again. I should get going"

She said "goodnight and see you on Friday" I nodded yes and went to my car and drove back home and fell asleep
