Chapter 1

In our life, there are many ladders on it. Ladders as a step that we need to surpass just to make us a better person. Take for example when you're facing a problem, you can't step into another part of the ladder when you're not still done stepping the first one, even if it means stressing the hell out of your existence.

Just like this one. If I really want to step into another ladder I have in my life, I need to face him and take care of him, in that way it can ease my existence even if he stresses me a lot!

I went downstairs and faced Raven.

"Haley, where's my milk?" asked the Mr. Childish of the year.

I have no choice but to immediately make his milk and gave it to him. I still have to clean the house because he just messes everything up here.

But just seconds passed and then...

"Haley!!!"

Damn. I know this.

I ran into him and I was right. He just spilled his very own milk on the floor. Just what the heck!

Chill, self. Chill.

"Raven, why did you spilled your milk again?!" I asked him irritatedly.

"I'm sorry, I just accidentally spilled it out," he replied with his pouted lips.

"Really?! Accidentally? I'm not even surprised! Go to the study room, wait there because we are going to study! No more words and get lost!"

Aish! Really? Is he eighteen years old?

And do you want to know why I end up babysitting that brat? Well, both of our moms were best friends.

When we're still kids, Raven prefers to be at our house than to stay at their place. My family keeps on spoiling him that he got used to it until the present. But when we already graduated in our 6th grade, Raven's mom decided to make me stay in their house while we're still studying just to take care of him, and the fact that the school that we choose to spend our High School journey is way nearer to their house compared to our place which will take you one to two hours to reach the school.

And there is also a bonus! Raven's mom will give me an extra allowance. Yey!

We're currently studying right now or should I say that I am the only one studying here? Raven's pouting since I ordered him to stay in the study room because we have to study.

"Could you please stop the pouting act? You should focus!" I told him.

But instead of following me, he just rolled his eyes and bite his cookie. The heck!

"Raven, our examination is getting near. We should study. I promise, once we'll do the exam, I'll let you hang out with your friends."

This boy is childish cuz what?

He immediately faced me with what I just said.

"Really? You'll let me hang out? That's a promise!" he happily replied and he took one of my notes and started studying.

I almost rolled my eyes at him and almost smack his head for his childishness.

I just shook my head and continued studying.

Minutes passed.

"It's not that way!"

"This is how you solve it!"

"Letter a is the correct answer!"

An hour passed.

"Nervous system is the system of nerves in your body that---" I stopped talking when I noticed that he isn't listening.

"What are you doing? Are you listening to me?!" I asked shouting at him.

But he ignored me and he locked his attention to his phone.

My face was almost crumpled when I stood up and decided to clean our things.

I was tired of helping him to discuss all of the lessons he skipped because he's too lazy to listen to our teachers. But then, I thought I was helping him, but no! He's playing mobile games!

I know that he's childish but he's too much! I also get tired of understanding him. I think he has some problems with his nervous system!

I was about to pick the last notebook that I haven't gotten yet but then, he suddenly grabbed it.

I annoyingly looked at him and he's looking confused. Wow, this boy is a kid!

"Wait, Haley, why are you cleaning up? We're not yet done studying right?" he asked, confused.

"Really? We? Studying? You're not even listening to me, so what's the use of my efforts?" I answered him and grabbed my notebook from his hands.

His eyes turned bigger and he's starting to make a childish act again.

"Haley, I'm sorry. Promise, I will listen to you this time," he said, using his innocent eyes.

As if! I ignored him because I was too pissed.

After cleaning it all up, I sat on the other couch and opened my Facebook account.

But I was a bit shocked when he sat next to me. Still, I ignored him.

"Haley, I'm sorry."

*ignored*

"Haley..."

Whatever! I continued scrolling down my newsfeed.

"Haley... sorry..."

I couldn't understand what's written on each post I got to see because I am bothered with his almost 'hugging me' presence.

*dub* *dub* *dub*

Omg, what is this? He's not aware of the word 'space' right? This childish brat!

I almost jumped when he suddenly held my shoulder and then he leaned his face near my face!

"Haley... let's make up. I'm sorry..."

*dub* *dub* *dub*

Omg. What's happening to him? He's very near, and why the heck do I feel that I am nervous?

But then I remembered what he just did a while ago.

I pushed him and I rolled my eyes at him. I'm too tired of cleaning up his mess and looking after his childishness. This day is their maids' day-off. I'm so tired.

I annoyingly looked at him and continue scrolling up again. But he suddenly took my phone away.

"Give it to me!" I said while glaring at him.

"No, you're ignoring me, I already apologize," he said and pouted his lips again.

"Why? Do you think you did nothing wrong?"

"I don't know, I don't know," he said mercilessly and crossed his arms.

This brat!

"Raven! Can you please stop acting like a kid, please!" I scratched my temple because of annoyance and stood up to cook lunch.

"I'm not a kid!" he defended.

I prepared all of the ingredients I need for the food that I am going to cook and ignored him.

I've been focusing on what I'm doing and I tried to avoid him all those moments while he keeps on apologizing.

"Haley!"

"Haley, sorry!"

"Haley, I'm sorry..."

That's what he could only say. But I still ignored him.

"I'm sorry please, can you forgive me? I'll follow whatever you say as long as you'll talk to me," he said that made me finally faced him.

"Really? You won't be stubborn anymore?" I asked dreamily.

"I'll try," he said while pouting. I avoided my gaze at him because of that.

He's... looking cute. Gosh!

He looks cute in my eyes. Omg! Why so sudden?

"Hmph. Are you sure that you're gonna obey all of my orders?" instead I asked him this one to remove the foreign feeling I felt.

"Yes, ma'am!" he replied looking even cuter.

Oh gosh! Am I getting weird?

Hmmm.

"Okay, I'll forgive you, but... in one condition!"

"What is it?" he asked excitedly. He's like a child that is excited to hear something from his mother to get something he wants.

I turned off the stove before answering him because the dish is already cooked. After that, I faced him smiling widely.

"It's very simple, if you won't dare obey my order, I'll let you clean the whole house. All over the places! Are we clear?" I asked him raising my brows and crossing my arms to appear strictly, but I am avoiding his childish stares because of the unfamiliar feeling that is very weird for me.

"What!? But Haley, I don't know how to clean... and how about the maids?" he looks like he's going to poop right now because of my condition to him.

"Duh! It's simple. Your maids will have a beauty rest!"

"But they are paid to do that. Why me?"

"Are we clear or are we clear?"

He irritatedly out a deep sigh and surrendered.

"Aish! Fine!" he agitatedly replied and ruined his hair while pouting even more that made me laugh at him.
