3 Chapter 3 - Family dinner

Previously:

I heard a static noise so I turned around. The place around me started glitching. The white floors, walls, and ceiling started glitching as behind it revealed my sister standing and looking at the fire but as the glitches worsened I saw a man beside her, it looked like her husband, Damien. Damien said, "satisfied?". I was confused but my sister said something I was not able to catch.

I woke up.

Damien? 19 years ago? Dreams mean nothing, Carl, but my head ached terribly for a moment.

Now:

I don't trust this Nile guy so I am staying over at my sister's house. I suggested that after I woke up... and ate.

"Ahh, food was delicious. I could go for another round." I said after I ate the meal so I can not worry and start thinking properly. "So, I am staying here cuz of that Nile. No complains k?" I said,

"Just don't tell anyone I am here." Nile said, before I can say anything my sister interrupted, "Carlos, just listen to him." She never gets my name right since ever.

"What the heck for a millionth time, its Carl. C.A.R.L, Carl. Fine I won't tell anyone." I said.

I saw Nile whisper something to my sister's ear and my sister just nodded and whispered to her husband then whispered back to my sister's ear, gosh I hate this so I interrupted their conversation.

"Just come one, Loise, I do not like secrets. Tell me." I said impatiently, did I tell you Loise is my sister's name? Yeah I just did.

" He told me not to trust any officer and deliver this USB to a man name Arthur, he is an artist. He told me to go here to meet her to tell me his location. He is now in China on vacation. I am surprised she is your sister though." Nile said.

So the security guard shot the camera so he would not be seen giving him the USB and told Nile... but when I met him he was at B2, how did he go to level 2 in just a moment unless its a disguise. Now, what it in the USB.

"Why are you willing to do all this?" I asked.

"He is one of my best friends so I will do his final wishes, He gave me a card telling me to go here and find him and to not trust any officer." He said.

"I hate to say it to you but you broke your promise to him, you just told an officer so what's the difference of mending a broken glass?" I said

"I am not trusting you, I am just telling you because I trust your sister." Nile said.

How long do they know each other?

"I see.. so when are you going to China?" I asked.

"Today." He answered.

"Today??!! Thats too sudden!" I said, I did not pack my things yet or book a flight so I panicked. " wait! I did not book a flight yet or pack my things!" I said.

"Don't worry I got tickets." Loise said holding out 3 tickets, " I booked them just a while ago, it was pricey."

Wait..1...2..3...4, " We are four! We need 4 tickets." I said.

"Don't worry about me, I will be here in the house." Loise's husband said, just before I forget, his name is Damien.

"I did not pack my things yet." I said and my sister gave me his husband's clothes. Gee, thanks.

We drove Damien's car and Loise was the one driving. The annoying thing was that Nile was singing 5000 bottles of milk on the wall and just to think I was very annoyed my sister joined in.

*ring

My phone rang, it was Roger.

"Where are you?" He asked me.

"Gee Roger, greet first." I said trying to avoid the question.

" No time! Nile just escape and we don't know where he is, we need all the help we can get to capture him tell me if you found him. Wait, are you in a car?" Roger said..

"Yea, yea." I said and ended the call.

" who was that?" My sister asked.

"You know.. my previous boss, Roger. He told me Nile escaped and now they are finding him." I said looking out of the window. From the mirror of the car I saw a black car behind us. I thought it was nothing when suddenly multiple of those cars appeared. I looked out the window and Nile also looked back checking what I was looking at, next thing I knew was Nile shouting," Step on it, we are being followed!"

And vroom we go, I was pulled to my chair seat, I could see the speed meter going max.

All of the cars started to shoot bullets, Me and Nile ducked.

"Slow down!" I yelled just to make sure they heard it from all these engine running. We were heading for a turn on the cliff. "Slow down! Slow down!" I kept yelling.

My stupid sister let us off the cliff, then all the cars stopped following us.

I swear my heart skipped a beat.

We drove and stopped to the point we reached at the airport.

"This is a shortcut." My sister said while both of us was in need of fresh air.

I panted, "You guys owe me an explanation (pant)about that (pant) USB later."

We grabbed our things and rushed to the airplane.

"Passport please." A lady said.

"Here." I gave her my passport, and the rest followed.

The flight attendant checked it.

"Nile De Logan?" She said in astonishment.

Oh poop. Did she noticed he was the suspect recently being searched? This is gonna be a problem.

"It is an honor to meet you sir." She shook his hand.

"No. No.no . That was a long time ago." Nile said.

"Excuse me, what now?" I asked.

" Nile De Logan was famous for organizing a charity for the poor. People called him a 'man with a great heart' ." My sister, Loise said.

Man with a great heart my foot. He ditched his friend to party now he is dead. I am sure in some way Nile blamed himself for his death too.

"Ah, I see." We entered the plane.

"So about the explanation you owe me?" I said going closer to my sister and she whispered to me.

" ok yeah, since it takes 5 hours to go there might as well. I work as a nuclear weapon scientist and they found a formula that can start a world war 3. John, the man you bumped into before he died was an undercover spy in the mall because the USB went missing and luckily since we placed a tracker. It showed us to that place but on his way there he died. Nile was accompanying him but he.. got distracted when he partied." My sister ordered water and I finally get it.

"But why can't you just destroy the USB, right then and there?" I asked.
