64 No pain no gain

"How did he know?" Prince Olaf thought to himself as he entered the castle with Tide.

As they had approached the castle the doors opened automatically which caused him to truly wonder how Thorn had known.

He had looked back at the last second, his curiosity getting the best of him.

It was at this moment that True fear struck his heart as a roar came from no where.

The roar sent a wave of power that brought back terrible memories to the prince.

No child should remember the day of their birth, but this was not the real world, this was blank, and Olaf was not a typical individual.

He remembered the night of his birth.

He remembered his own mother becoming the monster Morto Venti.

He remembered the blood, the screams , and most of all the dreadful aura of the beast that hated him.

The Prince knew that the same evil was now here to finish the job it had begun all those years ago.

For a brief moment he thought about turning back and helping Thorn, but he knew he would only cause problems.

Somehow Thorn had known, so he had to trust his friend. He would honor his sacrifice and do as he asked.

The Prince led the way into the castle, rushing forward so Tide had to hurry to catch up.

The castle had two giant wooden doors that had opened just enough to allow entry to a few people, revealing a great hall.

The hall had incredible tapestries adorning the walls with greek style pillars running from the 100 foot ceiling to the ground. Suits of steel armor stood in front of the pillars like stoic watchdogs. The hall was lit by some magic energy that ran through the ceiling and made a natural feeling light, as though sunlight was shining through it. There were countless doors that led to the right and left behind the pillars.

Were it not for Thorns directions, the Prince would be tempted to search these rooms and explore.

Regardless, Olaf igorned them and ran forward to another set of doors that also opened automatically.

The next room was exactly like the first, a great hall with tons of side doors, suits of armor and grand design.

Three more times, they moved forward and entered a room exactly like the last.

It felt as though they were in an infinite loop, but the Prince trusted Thorn and continued. This concept was reminiscent of the strange dungeon they had passed through, more annoying and time consuming than dangerous.

Upon the fourth time traveling through the doors, the scene before them changed.

They had arrived at the Throne room.

*********

<<Thorn>>

Active abilities

<<Murderous Intent-200% damage, reveals stealth>>

<<Maximise Ki-200% strength and dexterity-Enhanced combat reflexes>>

<< Static Momentum-13 charges(ready to use)>>

<<Master of Pain-300%pain damage>>

<<True Form-Wooden training sword-'Maismu'-All damage from sub-skills is converted to 'pain'. Initial pain aspect of 10.>>

Thorn prepared himself for the task set before him as he ran through his plan in his head. Although his abilities were strong, the night guard was still made up of level 30 professional players. One wrong move could spell the end for him.

Nonetheless Thorn felt his heart beat faster in anticipation as adrenaline pumped into his veins.

He focused and activated charge.

<<Charge[Max]-350%dex/speed--200%damage--3 second stun. 5 second duration>>

Thorn shot forward with an insane speed instantly allowing him to arrive at the first of the night guard.

Thorn now had vast amounts of combat experience to draw from thanks to Archanos.

Static Momentum-Activate!

Electricity Surged around Thorn as he flew forward and slammed into the ground spreading out in a wave.

The ten men before me were hit by the attack and screamed out in such pain that they instantly blacked out.

Though stealthed, Thorn could see them clearly with the effects of Murderous Intent.

He didn't wait for them to respond, as he activated flash attack to appear within their ranks.

Thorn teleported behind another assasin slashing him with Miasmu.

The man instantly dropped, the pain far to great for him to handle. Even a Legendary existence like Morton Venti could only take 11 strikes with his swords in their true form. They couldn't even take one strike.

Thorn knew that the night guard had a required pain setting of at least 5%, which would be their downfall.

Thorn wasted no time, activating his skills one after the other. His vast experience allowing him to easily combo his abilities together.

In less than five seconds he had knocked out half of them, leaving the bridge reverberating from the constant screams.

Thorn also used Chaos step, an ability from his boots to teleport around randomly causing mass confusion.

The assasins couldnt find their target, he moved to quickly. They were confused and growing more frustrated with every moment. He was level 12! What the hell was going on!
