Azure Dragon Slayer (Fairy Tail Fantic)

It was the year X768 in the kingdom of Fiore. A cult of Zeref was roaming around, going through many villages, sacrificing all the villages to Zeref. An Azure Dragon by the name of Zagnivol had been roaming around by the Kakuna Village around this time. He sensed a gift of aura from a young boy and decided to adopt him as his own child. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Author's Note: This is the story which I had written in my free time over the last few months. I would be publishing a lot of chapters straight away. If you like it then comment, and review.

Meeting Zeref Again

Shun didn't know why, but he found himself incredibly curious about this existence known as Beast of Calamity, even though he wasn't sure whether it existed or not.

"It's appearance will change to that of an incredibly ferocious White Tiger. The being which knows only to slaughter everything."

"White tiger! Cool!" Wilson said as he ignored the rest of the words spoken by Grandeeney.

Shun also felt that it would be rather cool to have a White Tiger as a pet.

"Grandeeney… let's talk more about this subject later. As of right now, Wilson is harmless. I will deal with it when the time comes. You must have other questions right now."

"Correct. First of all, who are you? How could you sense me while I was residing in Wendy's consciousness? What is your relation with Wendy?"

"I am Shun, an Azure Dragon Slayer. I have adopted Wendy as my little sister. As for how I was able to sense you? I don't know how to explain that. I have always been able to do that with my magic. I don't think it's a perk from being an Azure Dragon Slayer. Zagnivol never mentioned it to me."

"Zagnivol! As in the Zagnivol, the Dragon Emperor? As far as I know, he is the only Azure Dragon within our history."

"Hn," Shun grunted in response, telling her that she was right.

"Anyways, the reason I can sense you is unknown to me."

Suddenly, Shun's eyes widened a little as he said to Grandeeney, "Grandeeney, stop here for a moment. The land here on this ground."

"Land here? Should I descend here? Are you sure this will be alright? What if there are humans around?"

"As far as I can sense, there are no humans nearby. Land on the ground, I can sense a very familiar feeling. I think this is the Tenrou island, the place where the body of the First Master of Fairy Tail is said to be buried."

"Fairy Tail, huh? It wasn't around 400 years ago. You, humans, have changed a lot since the Dragons went extinct."

"In terms of adapting to the situation, even the Dragons are inferior to humans." Shun seemed a little proud as he declared that.

Grandeeney remained silent in terms of that. She knew he was right in some aspects.

If humans were given some power, they could surpass the Dragons. The very example was Acnologia. The human who killed enough Dragons that he was being called a Dragon King now.

The fact that he nearly killed the strongest Dragon King of their generation, Igneel already proved his might and power.

Soon enough, they landed on the ground. The place was rather strange. Shun could sense many invisible magic streams entering his body and boosting his magic.

The power he was feeling right now was unlike any time he had felt before. It was heavenly… And he had a feeling that if he wanted to. Shun could absorb all the magic from this place if he wanted to.

Grandeeney turned to a direction and narrowed her eyes, "And what are you doing here, Zeref?"

Sure enough, in front of her eyes laid the spirrigan. Zeref held the same casual smile on his face as before.

"Yo!" Shun greeted him with a broad smile.

"Hey, Shun." He then looked at Grandeeney next to Shun and said, "Looks like you have intervened in rather troublesome matters."

"Says the 400 years old immortal," Shun responded with a smile. He didn't know why, but he always sensed a strange sense of kinship from Zeref.

Was it because of his magic? But as far as he knew, his magic wasn't related to dark magic like Zeref's.

He respected Zeref, though. The fact that this immortal man had managed to live 400 years without trying to destroy everything crazily deserved respect.

His curse killed all those he cared about. Shun was sure he would probably go crazy or berserk and destroy everything he sees.

And here was this immortal man, trying his best to avoid humans so that he wouldn't accidentally kill them.

Shun wasn't accidentally sure if Zeref wasn't planning to destroy humans or not. His alter-ego could emerge at any time and make him go crazy.

He remembered the last time it emerged, Zagnivol had to beat Zeref like a rag doll until he regained his consciousness and control over his body.

The curse was really troublesome. It wouldn't leave Zeref even after his body was destroying into atoms.

This spoke volumes about the power held by the God of Life and Death, Ankhseram.

God… Shun didn't understand why, but he hated this term.

It wasn't because of some religious reason. Shun didn't care much if people believed in this existence.

He knew that the Gods existed because of Zagnivol. However, he found the existence of these gods hypocritical.

Their task was to protect humans, yet he had never seen or heard about God suddenly appearing and saving someone. And today, he heard about the Godbeast which seemed to have guaranteed that he was right.

Gods or should the better name of these almighty beings in his mind was Cowards.

Back at the situation, it had been a long time since Shun had seen Zeref.

Grandeeney just shook her head and commented, "Why does it not surprise me to see you acquainted with the Black Wizard, Zeref."

"This guy received the magic from your Dragon Emperor. Compared to that, aren't I just a small fry?" Zeref said with an amused smile.

"Says the guy who created countless Demons 400 years ago which still continue to roam Earthland. "

"One can never underestimate your sensing ability because of Wind, I guess." Both Shun and Zeref said at the same time. They both looked at each other and laughed out loud.

This happened a lot with them. Other than a few words, they would have the same thing in their mind.

"So, what are you doing here? Stopping by to see this old man?" Zeref asked with a rather neutral tone. His voice was devoid of emotion.

Shun merely gave a smile in response, "You wish, old man. I also don't know what you are doing in this holy land of the Fairy Tail, but I guess these questions can wait."

His tone became serious as he said to Zeref, "Tell me all you know about Godbeast."

"Godbeast? That's a term I haven't heard in a long time. I wonder why..." He then noticed Wilson, who was peeking from behind Shun's body and commented, "Ahh… I see. I never expected to see a Godbeast here in this era. It has only been 400 years since the last one was killed."

"The Godbeast or as the humans call it, the Beast of Calamity whose only thought is to destroy. To reset the course of humanity."

"That's not true… I don't have this thought to destroy everything. I have normal thoughts like everyone else. If what you say is true, then I am not this Beast of Calamity."

Zeref looked right at Wilson's face and said, "Simply because you aren't aware of it doesn't change your identity. The last one I met also wasn't aware of its identity. Well, not until it suddenly evolved one day."
