13 Writer’s Block (End)

lol I'm currently facing the infamous writer's block right now. I have ideas to write about and with the help of the readers suggestions and feedback.

But I'm just struggling to write it down in a way that is comprehensible. Otherwise the chapter's quality would look like a child wrote it down.

I'm not saying I'm giving up, it's just that I lack the insight and writing skills to generate a story worth reading. 😔 I would love to update everyday and with new and better ideas but I just can't.

Other novels make it look so easy when they update new chapters everyday and in such good quality. The characters appear alive, plot makes sense and power scaling is understandable.

I started writing this novel thinking it would be just as easy, but only now did I realize just how terribly hard it is to write something out of something so complex.

Like the world of Warcraft is such a big world, so much lore and details that it's hard to find the right one to develop the story in accordance of the lore.

The power scaling is hard to implement since majority of it is from the game itself, the system, skills, abilities, stats and etc are just hard to replicate properly.

Someone made a valid point about how exactly is the MC gonna win against powerful beings like Deathwing. With the system I have right now, it's just a kingdom-building system, not really overpowered to win against a monster that can destroy a kingdom itself.

Like what would happen if all of Arthas's troops die, will he have to start from scratch again? Train soldiers for years again? But the human population is limited he can't constantly have a supply of humans to cultivate into soldiers. Unless he can summon warriors out of thin air, but how exactly will he explain that power to anybody? at least in normal behavior, he would be a god at that point to create a living being out of what? gold? Just doesn't make sense.

I really want to write a fanfic about Arthas with the aspect of him leading an army and become strong enough to rule the entirety of Azeroth. But like the issue is, he is only human. He ages and can't become truly powerful to beat otherworldy beings. His army will just disintegrate with a flick of a finger. Or some crazy ass power anything that a fantasy world like Azeroth can conjure.

I understand why now, how so many new novels with good potential end up dying. The authors reach a certain amount of chapters and then experiences the exact same problem.

A good story will take years of writing, editing, worlds-building and etc. I just started just a few days ago, wrifting every day for a few hours when I have time to. So I can continue making new updates everyday. But clearly it's not working out.

I seriously have such big respect to authors who can overcome this problem and continue writing with such an imaginative mind. I don't know if they have a whole team working with them or a just themselves. But amazing nonetheless.

So yeah Folks, I think this is it for me. I will continue writing a story, but I'm gonna have to spend months or potentially years to write one good novel. So ya'll won't even be able to see the progress along the way as I won't be posting them as it would require countless revisions and editing.

But I learned so much from starting those 2 novel fanfics, couldn't have done it without the feedback you guys provided me.

and I'm aware you guys probably don't really care, you guys are readers, you just comment and wait for more and won't really think much if a novel drops and will just move on to another. That's just how life is. It's the writers job to entertain the audience, not the other way around.

I'm just writing this explanation so you can at least see my POV of my journey writing. That is practically it. I'm sorry if you guys were looking forward for more. Literally been in the exact position you're in. Just feels odd seeing it from both ends, it's pretty cool though. Anyways this is everything I need to say, thanks for the support.
